Krislin Senior Tour Guide

Krislin has a masters degree in theatre research, if you’re lucky, you might end up in her one woman show. Ask her if she is performing any time soon! For an Estonian Krislin speaks a lot. Despite this, she appreciates silence and has done a 10-day guided silent meditation course known as Vipassana. So we know she can do it but she just chooses not to keep silent and this is a great asset as a tour guide.

She is an artist in her soul, whether it’s drawing, making textile jewellery, or taking photos - she loves her little craft projects. Like many Estonians, she has travelled around and spent quite some time all around the globe, much of it thanks to a working holiday visa. May it be serving cold beers in rural Australia, picking kiwifruit in New Zealand, or renting out snowboarding gear in Canada, she has grown closer to her better self and seen a lot of the world. Krislin is happy to share her many experiences on the tour.

PS! She cries at the Song Festivals and misses the four seasons changing in Estonia when she is away. These a basic requirement to be an Estonian.

"The best way to go from Tallinn to Riga "

A full of beautiful pictures and places day. Our guide-driver Krislin made our day more easier.

"Great way to travel between Riga and Tallinn"

Fun and historic places that we wouldn't have visited, as we had not rented a car. Loved Viljande and the bobsleigh track. Not convinced about the military museum though. Very friendly guide, who was eager to tell us about her beautiful country,

"Interesting way to travel from Latvia to Tallin"

I loved the tour and the company. If you want a nice trip between Riga and Tallin rather than a boring journey I would recommend it. Small negative I felt the tour guide was more interested in Estonian history than Latvian and we could have had more historical detail. Not sure about the military museum as I have an aversion to nationalism and militarism and the exhibits were only labelled in Estonian. It was interesting however to learn about Estonia’s struggle for independence. Lunch in Valga was great food. Other highlights were the Gauja national park and Viljendi.

"Best day getting from A to B ever!"

We had a fabulous day with Krislin, she was very informative but kept everything light and fun. Messing around on the large swing at the castle ruins in Viljandi was one of the highlights of our holiday. The military museum was interesting but less of our sort of thing, Krislin quickly realised this and we moved on. We were lucky enough to have good weather which made the Gauja National Park even more beautiful. Cesis was a pretty little town and we were ready for a drink in the sun. The bobsleigh in Sigulda was fun although in a perfect world we would have been there early enough to have a go. So to sum it up, I stumbled across this tour when looking for a way of getting from Tallinn to Riga and we ended up having a lovely day. We saw bits of both Estonia and Latvia which we would not otherwise have discovered and turned a travelling day into a holiday highlight. The tour was great value for money and Krislin could not have been better.
