We had a great trip from Riga to Vilnius on the sightseeing tour bus. Our driver Matiss was a bit of a legend- he drove safely and gave us lots of information about the stops on the way. He dropped us to the door of our accommodation which was really appreciated. He even came back and brought something to us that we had left behind on the van. He also gave us great recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Can I actually rate the trip 6 stars??? ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"Wonderful PRIVATE Tour Riga-Parnu-Tallinn"

I highly recommend making this a private tour to enable flexibility. My guide and I were able to take the time we wanted to see the sights. Parnu was fabulous, not many tourists from outside of the Baltics visit, but I highly recommend! Kullo was great! He was on time, kind, and provided just the right information about Estonia - sometimes guides can be info overload - I felt Kullo provided me with a fabulous dose of history and cultural facts during our day long trek!

"Unexpected journey on 2, October 2025"

Initially,just take it as a normal travel trip by bus as usual. Finally it became an expected trip for the whole day! The driver/guilde arranged the view points and time schedules perfectly so we all forgot the long day trip in comfortable van. We have lunch in a traditional restaurant with beautiful views. We still have chance to see the beautiful sunset in Kanas. Thanks for the driver/guild so much as he dropped us to the hostel one by one when arriving in dark night! Strongly recommend this trip to anyone who plan to Vilnius from Riga!

"Enjoyable trip between Riga and vilnius"

We left Riga on time and we visited 4 sights during our 11 hour journey-salapils memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. All 4 sights were very interesting and we would be hard pressed to do it ourselves in a day. We also stopped for lunch in a nice Lithuanian restaurant. Our guide Matiss (Matthew?) was knowledgeable and a good driver. He would share the history of each location and leave us with sufficient time to explore on our own. We were expecting to find our way to our accommodation on arrival at Vilnius but he dropped us off instead. I would highly recommend taking this trip (and the similar Tallinn to Riga) if you are traveling between these cities, don’t fancy driving but still want to visit some sights and see some of the country.

Never a boring moment with Laura ,as she toured our group of 7 from Riga to Lithuania. She made us glued to the scenery, history,and culture of the places we visited. Passionate and patriotic, she gave us a great insight about Lithuania and the Baltics. Will definitely recommend her and her company.

We loved our drive from Riga to Vilnius with Laura. She was incredibly energetic and enthusiastic about her home country Lithuania! We stopped at several places along the way that were just wonderful and so historical, Salaspils memoriāls, Rundales Palace, Hill of Crosses, Kaunas, and Trakai Castle! There are a lot of renovations being done at both Kaunas (in the square) and at Trakai Castle - just a heads up before visiting!

I had an excellent day traveling from Riga to Tallin. We got to see so many things that I would have missed if I took a train or direct bus. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see some of the beautiful countryside in Latvia and Estonia and get a deeper insight into each country.

She is very knowledgeable about the region and can tell you a lot about the more esoteric parts of Estonian history, religion, tradition, and culture, if you’re interested as well. This was such a fantastic experience & a really enriching way to travel from two capital cities avoiding the dull highway or public transport. Such a rich texture of places visited including rural villages & town, forest & beyond. Johanna especially made our trip as engaging as possible & it was a real treat to be part of a small group to maximise her time & knowledge of the two countries. 100% would do this again & can't recommend traveller tours enough!

What a great way to travel from Riga to Tallinn. Of course you can do it quicker but this combined a history lesson, sightseeing as well as personal insights. Johanna was an excellent host, professional but also funny and very human. We particularly enjoyed her observations on recent social changes in Estonia and Latvia.

Unless you're in a big hurry and don't care about anything between Riga and Tallinn, this is the perfect way to move from one city to the other. The van is comfortable, the route is beautiful, and the guide/driver is truly outstanding, very interesting and personable.

"Opportunity to see some quirky landmarks "

Tour is an exceptional opportunity to see outside of the big cities and experience other landmarks you might not get to easily. I learned a lot on this trip. Our guide seemed knowledgeable, enjoyed traveling with us and gave us good tips for food. It might not be the culture in these parts of the world but it could be good to create an online opportunity or follow up for clients to give a tip if they wish. Many people don't carry much cash anymore so could be something to consider. It's not a requirement but certainly not a bad idea.

Very interesting tour in a nice area not far from Riga. Ruta is a great guide who has and shares a lot of knowledge not only about the present but also about the past. We enjoyed both days with Ruta a lot.

This was a very good tour and a creative way to see the country. We enjoyed the sights and the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We wished she had a microphone in the van because we couldn't hear her comments when people had questions. I would have LOVED more details on history, life in Estonia and Latvia (anything from day to day life, nature, foods, climate, language etc--although some of these topics might be "normal" to you, it is all new for visitors and very interesting to us. She always knew everything we asked her and answered questions thoroughly.

I had a wonderful time on the tour from Riga to Tallinn! The itinerary was thoughtfully designed, with memorable stops at the bobsleigh track in Sigulda and the charming town of Viljandi. Walking along the bobsleigh track was fascinating, as it offered a unique chance to learn about the sport and its history. Viljandi’s picturesque streets and warm atmosphere were equally captivating, and trying the village swing was such a fun highlight! The tour was well-organized, the guide, Johanna, was engaging and shared many of her own perspectives as an Estonian, The stops made the journey between Riga and Tallinn truly special. "Relaxed and stylish travels with a phenomenal guide"

Pick-up in Riga was on time, Johanna welcomed us to the tour and fortunately she was such an easy-going guide - we chatted 10 hours non-stop and got on well from the word go. The bus was comfortable and clean, Johanna a careful driver and a very knowledgeable guide, answering all our questions. The stops along the way were worthwhile, from the bob-sledge track in Sigulda, Cesis with its medieval character and a nice walk in the Gauja National Park - all amazing. The stop in Vijandi was equally interesting as was the stop at a local brewery for lunch. Arrival was exactly on time as planned All in all, excellent tour with an excellent guide - wish there was more of them :). Well done Traveller Tours, we"ll use you again if in the vicinity.

We had a great trip from Riga to Vilnius on this tour. The guide was great, bubbly and friendly. The lunch stop had something for everyone and there was plenty of time at each of the stops to explore. Would highly recommend using this tour.

The tour guide, Ruta, was very informative, very friendly, nice and did do her best to provide interesting facts and details of the sights in the tour. She is very knowledgeable and passionate which helps you truly experience the places you see. The downside was that we had the tour around the holidays and most of the sights were closed, We missed the soviet era museum, as it was also closed, which we were quite excited about. We were upset because no one informed us in advance, that everything would be closed, to decide if the cost of the tour is worth it for us considering. (It is not common knowledge especially as practices differ from country to country) Be sure to check if things are open when you plan to visit.

Our guide Laura was very enthusiastic throughout our whole trip! Also very knowledgeable - I will thoroughly recommend! I think travelling from Riga to Vilnius through this option is the most value for money as well. For places like Hill of Crosses - you’d have spent a lot of time going there from Vilnius. But for the sightseeing bus, it was something like a pit stop! Sightseeing while travelling, it was the best of both worlds!

I had an awesome time on my tour from Riga to Tallinn. Going in December meant that I got to see the snowy countryside. From the beautiful bobsleigh track and the spectacular views there to visiting Castle ruins, beautiful small towns and the pretty city of Parnu. During my trip we also fortunately had the flexibly to visit a bog as well which was a truly stunning experience. I 100% recommend to anyone wishing to explore the Latvian and Estonian countryside!

The tour was a perfect way to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than we otherwise would have from a bus, which was the other option to travel between the two cities. She had the five of us comfortable as a group within fifteen minutes of leaving the meeting place. The van was comfortable, and the chosen sightseeing stops were varied and interesting, and perfect for breaks.

"Comfortable and fun"

I really like this idea of sightseeing from one place to another. I have travelled the world and been from country to country. I think it is clever and great to have this option rather than just taking a bus from one place to another. I was able to see a lot of sites that I wouldn’t have been able to go to due to time constraints. Ruta was knowledgeable and friendly. The van was comfortable as there were only 6 of us rather than 8. The restaurant we stopped at served delicious food with reasonable prices. The sites we stopped at were relevant and we had enough time considering it was just a day tour. Definitely recommend this tour!

My van is good. The staff is kind and professinal. Lunch is delicious and not expensive. The programe is sufficient. Usually one day tour from Riga to Rundale palace is 60-80€ and one day tour from Vilnius to hill of crosses is about 50-60euro. So it is a most valueable way to transfer from Riga to Vilnius.

Booking this tour was hands down the best decision for traveling from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide Laura was amazing, knowledgeable and just a lovely and funny person. She really made the 11+ hours fly by. The stops along the way were chosen well, and Laura gave us lots of background info on the individual stops but then we also had time to just explore a little. The lunch stop was very yummy and a great location and the fact that she ordered our chosen food ahead saved us time. We travelled as a family of 3 and really can't recommend this tour enough (even our teenager had a great time :)

We really enjoyed this tour! We don't drive, which made it challenging when planning a trip that would take us to all of the key places we wanted to visit in Latvia and Lithuania. This tour was perfect because it took us to many of those places while also moving us along to Vilnius, the next stop on our Baltic journey! Laura, our tour guide, was great. She is energetic and kept the tour moving along with the perfect amount of time to visit each place. If you unfortunately fell asleep in the car (jet lag, not boredom!), you didn't miss important details, as she saved the key facts for our stops to see the various sites. Laura somehow remembered everyone's names! There was a good variation in the types of sites we visited. A must see for us was the Hill of Crosses, and we were glad we saw it! We were also glad to visit the Salaspils Memorial and the Rundale Palace. It's hard to choose, but my favourite place we visited was Kaunas. We took this tour in December, so the Christmas Market there was a site to see, especially lit up at night! This was a jam-packed day, but a great way to travel between Riga and Vilnius and see unique sites along the way. We highly recommend this tour or the same tour in the other direction.

I can't recommend this tour enough. We were a group of 8 women traveling together, and this transfer tour made the process of moving all of us (and all of our luggage) from one city to the other not just completely painless, but also genuinely enjoyable. Turning the day into a lovely, relaxed tour where we could get out and wander and see the incredible sights along the way turned what could have been a boring transfer day into a truly memorable part of our trip. This is the best way to see both countries more than just the capital cities and it's the most time-efficient way. So much better than a boring bus ride if you go direct between the 2 cities. I had wanted to visit the Hill of Crosses before coming to this region, and it would have been an extra day's excursion from Vilnius if I hadn't joined this tour. It was a fantastic trip! I also had chance to visit some places that I hadn't heard of before. Laura was very friendly, enthusiastic and fun. I feel very lucky to have her as the guide. Unless you are flying or self-driving, this tour is your best option travelling between Riga and Vilnius!

"Beautiful Palace and Amazing Hill of Crosses "

We were delighted to see Mike at the Riga meeting point since he had recently escorted us from Tallinn to Riga. Mike has a good singing voice and is spontaneous with his stories. Like any good story teller, he does not let you know at the beginning that he is going into story mode. The weather cooperated with our journey. Although Mike did not have to deliver us our hotel, he surprised us again by doing just that. It is a wonderful way to enjoy sights while enjoying the weather, Mike's stories, and seeing interesting sights along the way. What a nice combination to create a terrific travel memory.

We drove with two other passengers. Good conversations. Stoped at many interesting sites. The military museum was unnecessary. The two castles and national park and bobsled track were wonderful. The total trip, though, took too long. A little less time at some places would be good. We left at 9 am and arrived 9pm. An hour earlier would have been better. We took the trip on August 26th and it was well worth it as was the trip from Vilnius to Riga. There is temptation to just see the 3 Baltic capitals but this is a mistake. These trips enable you to see more of the 3 countries. This tour had 5 different u Interesting stops plus an excellent lunch at a brewery. Mike the guide was excellent. Highly recommended

Our guide Laura was very welcoming, knowledgeable and successful in making us excited to visit Lithuania for the first time. The day tour was great value for money in my opinion much better than just catching a coach. We saw interesting stops between Riga + Vilnius that we would have totally missed otherwise. It was a small bus so you were never waiting around for other people. The lunch stop was good, no complaints. Ps traveller tours are really good to deal with, any issues that arise their team are really responsive and professional.

This was a great way to see a little of both Latvia and Lithuania other than the cities, and was made even better by Laura, who had more energy for 12 hours straight than you could possibly imagine. This was my second tour and there were four of us who previously took the Tallinn-Riga bus two days earlier. The only downside is that the lunch restaurant ran out of beer, which I think may have been a capital offense in Lithuania, although the venison sausages were delicious.

I was a little nervous about booking this option for traveling from Riga to Vilnius. I was a solo traveler in my sixties who doesn’t like tours. I shouldn’t have been nervous at all. It was a wonderful way to make the trip, and to see a few things in between. Our guide, Laura, was just delightful — giving us the background of every site we stopped at and, of course, telling us why her hometown of Vilnius was the most wonderful place in the world. The places we stopped — the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas — were varied and interesting. Sufficient time was allotted at each, and we arrived in Vilnius around 8PM, which at least in my mind was perfect. I recommend this.

Our guide / driver was excellent, would highly recommend. Numerous stops along the way, their is some light hiking involved so this trip is not suitable for mobility issues. Would a recommend bringing snacks and water, it is a very long 12h day. The lunch stop was superb after crossing border to Estonia however this comes late in the day 2-3pm.

Laura our guide was lovely and flexible in terms of how/where we spent time (though I would suggest some quiet time in the van as too much music can make it hard to relax/ doze off on the road). The open-air art museum was ok for a stroll but not hugely exciting in my opinion - luckily Mike had a good instinct for what we would find more/less interesting and paced the tour accordingly. So we went on to Kuldiga which for me was the highlight of the tour - lovely town and waterfall, and a nice way to spend some time out of the city. First of all: even if the weather is harsh, don't hesitate to take part in this tour! The guide was funny and knowledgeable, and definitely contributed to make this trip even more pleasant. It's been raining with high wind for most of the day, but, honestly, this made even more interesting the experience at Salaspils and the Hill of Crosses. Of course, if you want to fully enjoy the Rundāle Palace Garden with all of its flowers, it is better to book the tour for a sunny day in May or June. St Peter and St Paul Cathedral in Kaunas is literally a piece of jewelry. All highly recommended!

Let's you see sights that you would need a rental car to see and turns a mundane bus trip into a great day of sight seeing. Riga to Vilnius was great, highlights were the rose garden at the Baltic version of versailles. Also had a fabulous lunch at a deer farm Audruvis. Restoranas. The venison carpaccio and beet soup were spot on.

Such a fun trip from Riga to Tallinn. I’m so glad we had enough people to do the tour as I can’t imagine my Baltics trip without it. All of the stops along the way are “must see” so this is an excellent way to do a road trip but with a local guide. Laura was so energetic and fun and really exuded love for her homeland and knowledge of the history. We paid to do a quick tour inside Rundale Palace (only the gardens are included in the tour) which is good because it started pouring rain. The time allotted for Kaunas was enough to really take in the old town and see the castle. Highly recommend!

The tour was great. A big shoutout to our guide Mike: he was awesome! He told us many stories about Latvia and Estonia, helped us understanding better the history of these 2 countries, he narrated folk stories about the places we visited, he explained different type of plants and vegetation, etc. he is very knowledgeable and he is also talented: he sang for us a popular song at Viljandi! ( he’s a great at singing!). His English is excellent. The tour was well organized with a good balance between driving time and visiting places. Although the trip is from 9:00 to 21:00, the time went by quickly. Everything was perfect, the only thing I would change is the stop at the War Museum. Although the content is interesting ( and Mike did a great job in explaining things and even shared family stories regarding the Soviet occupation of Latvia) the displays at the museum need some improvement ( the dummies in uniform were a bit outdated) Probably, more time in the nature would be better.

This tour was a great value and effective way to see many different amazing things while also transporting you from Riga to Vilnius, the best possible way to travel because otherwise you would miss so much outside of the city centers! We did the Riga to Tallinn sightseeing tour. Guide Mikelis took us for a long day full of sightseeing. We departed on time, the guide was there to greet us. The van was spacy, and very comfortable. We were so glad that we could participate, to enjoy the countryside and to see so much more of both Latvia and Estonia. Started at the bobsleigh track which was fun because we could walk down the track on foot. Soooo funny. The national park with the limestone cliffs was crazy beautiful. The guide explained a lot, let us taste some herbs in nature and he even sang for us. The towns of Cesis and Viljandi both were lovely. Had the opportunity to have lunch in a great restaurant in Valga. For us the least Intresting part was the military museum. But the highlight of the day was that we saw a wild brown bear near the woodlands, just beside the road. Incredible!!!!!! Mikelis was also so sweet to make a stop so I could photography one of the many many stork nests near the farms. I cannot recommend this tour enough, but it wouldn't have been as much fun as we didn't had this fantastic guide Mikelis.Thumbs up guys, keep on the good work!

We had a personal tour on sunday 9 august 2020. our guide (Mikelis) had studied geography, i remember. We really enjoyed the tour. Visited Kaunas, hills of crosses, Salaspils Memorial, Rundāle palace and had a nice local food. Our guide could tell a lot and we could talk with him about heritage from the past, differences and similarities between countries and was really helpful. Thanks for the tour!

In the morning when we arrived at the location the tour guide was all ready and good to go. The tour van was comfortable and had nice airconditioning. The tour guide even brought some extra water with her for us. Our tour guide was very excited and energetic, even though it was early in the morning. She also has a good sense of humour. She told us a lot about all kinds of stuff not only history of Latvia and Estonia but also some funny facts about Riga, Estonia and Tallinn. The stops underway are very welcome, not just for stretching your legs but they're also at very nice places where you wouldn't go at first. Liine showed us some sick berry plucking skills. Also the delicious lunch at an extraordinary restaurant was a nice surprise. It is highly recommended to take this tour. You won't be sorry.

"Wonderful Midsummer excursion"

We had the first tour for Traveller Tours for the season due to coronavirus, and it was wonderful. Because no one else had booked we ended up with a private tour and had Ruta as our guide. She was a smart and kind guide and very patient with our 1 and 3 year olds. She was also proud to be Lithuanian and that was fun to see the Baltic pride and learn from a local. We loved the sights included in the Riga-Vilnius tour and thought the country side of both countries was stunning: lush, green, and in full bloom at this time of year. We were lucky to be ok to travel here from Helsinki and recommend seeing these underrated countries with this excellent tour.

"Touring in Winter"

We are seniors and enjoyed this trip, the guide/driver was both entertaining and knowledgeable. We prefer to travel in winter so the tourist numbers are manageable, no queues etc however the down side of this tour is that the sites we stopped at were either closed or we arrived in darkness. The nature walk in Gauja National Park was excellent we arrived during daylight so we explored extensively in the time we had. The Valga military museum was closed but our guide had telephoned ahead and the curator opened the doors to us. It was really interesting a snap shot of what happened in the Soviet era. About ½ hours drive from the Tallinn drop off we visited, in pitch dark the remnants of a castle? We couldn’t take pictures so we don’t really have a record. FYI we travelled Vilnius to Riga by Express LUX bus as the sightseeing tour bus was not available, it was very cheap. €28 single. Punctual and comfortable with Wi-Fi and movies. Frankly we would have cancelled the Riga-Tallinn trip if we had taken the Vilnius - Riga sightseeing tour bus. I bet this is a most lively trip in summer with a full bus! We are glad we did it!

This trip was so much fun. We stoped at the Olympic bobsled track, which was awesome, hiked through part of a national park next to a river, stopped at a war museum and a couple of interesting towns. Lunch was at a local cafe. Our guide was informative and a fun road trip driver. My husband and I really enjoyed our day - long but fun!

More than a transfer between Riga and Tallinn sharing experiences with a group of maximum 8 people. The trip increased our understanding of this region and the tour guide Lamas was extremely informative and helpful. Instead of big cities, we loved the rural countryside and small towns we passed through. The ride was comfortable. A suggestion would be to streamline stops at sites to allow more daylight in the last two hour segment, especially at this time of year. We are older and Lamas was understanding of our needs.

It was a joy to travel with my driver/guide, a fresh and knowledgeable young women. I learnt so much about the region, its history, culture, economics etc which would not have been possible by any other mode of travel. In this case it was one on one and for me very much worth it. The choice of highlights was spot on from the sobering Salaspils Memorial, the beautiful Runsdale palace, the Hill of Crosses to Kaunas and its charm and history. The Lithuanian countryside and its agriculture was also most interesting to me. Breaks were well timed with an enjoyable time over a meal at a deer farm and some time on my own allowing me to photograph and reflect on things seen. Kamile gave me a lot of helpful information for my time alone in Vilnius enhancing considerably my time spent there. Thank you!

The guide/driver was very informative in terms of his knowledge and communication skills, this being in English, and he was able to answer any questions posed by the group. Would thoroughly recommend this company, this being the second of such intercity trips undertaken during our visit to the Baltic countries.

"Money well spent"

We upgraded to the private transfer (Riga to Vilnius) as we wanted to visit some different attractions (and also spend more time at some) to those on the group departure and it was well worth the extra expense. Beatrice met us at our apartment a few minutes early in a spacious van for a brief stop at Salaspils Memorial for a very brief stop as it started to rain. Beatrice was then able to time our stops at Rundale Palace and Hill of Crosses for longer stays while the sun was out and then drive during the rain (using a weather app we assume). We also had an extended stop in Kaunas where we visited the main churches, Beatrice showed us her favourite street art and then also visited Ninth Fort before proceeding to Vilnius, where Beatrice also assisted us in communication with the apartment owner. Overall it was like travelling with a friend rather than just a guide.

This tour is the best way to travel from Riga to Vilnuis. Ruta our driver/guide was so knowledgeable and in the nicest way she took us to places where we would have had to organise a day tour from one or the other of the cities. We and five others were taken to Salaspils, the Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace etc. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the good company of people from other parts of the world and I would highly recommend travelling with this company. This was the 2nd tour we have done with Traveller Tours and I wish they had tours going into Poland. Much better than trains.

What a great way to get from Riga to Tallinn! Yes, I could have taken a much quicker trip on a direct bus, but I would have missed seeing so much of the lovely countryside in Latvia and Estonia--places that are definitely off the beaten track. And I wouldn't have had half the fun I did with our charming and enthusiastic guide, Hannes, and the nice group of travelers from Brazil, Germany, the UK and Spain. From slightly rigorous forest hikes to walkabouts in historic towns to a whacky tour of the former Soviet bobsled training facilities, it was a day packed with both the fun and the serious. We also had a lovely lunch at a handsome country restaurant. Hannes was witty and good about keeping us all together. This was a great opportunity to learn tall tales and dig into the very complex history of the Baltics.

This was a brilliant, comfortable way to get between Riga and Tallinn, but more than that it allows you to experience more than just those city centres. Our guide was so knowledgeable and never rushed any part of the tour (in fact all the timing was perfect). The minivan was very spacious (which I had worried about as I'm tall and leg room is always an issue - but not this time!) and the restaurant and meal halfway was also lovely. I would highly recommend. Unfortunately we had bad weather for half the day but Sten carried on regardless and we got the best experience possible. Thanks TravellerTours.

Rather than taking the direct bus from Riga to Tallinn, this is the best way to explore both countries outside the city centre. Our guide, Katrin is very friendly and knowledgable in explaining the histories of both countries and also all the attractions that we visited. She is also a very safe driver and prepared some umbrellas in case it is raining. I don't feel rushed and she is very flexible with time. On top of that, she has helped us above and beyond when my mom left her bagpack in one of the attraction sites. She makes sure that the bagpack is delivered to us the next day! We were trully appreciative of her efforts in helping us. She has truly displayed an excellent representation of Estonian who is kind hearted! The other guide, Andres who voluntereed to get the bagpack and deliver it to us is truly a star! We will remember Estonia with sweet memories not only because of the beautiful attractions that the country has but also the kind hearted people!

Found this company and tour on line and it sounded really good so booked! Everything was just as described and ran like clockwork but without any hassle or rushing, a great day in a wonderful holiday in Riga and Vilnius. Kamile was bright, cheerful, very knowledgeable, and a good driver. The places we visited were varied and all interesting in different ways. Kamile provided just the right amount of information and we had time to explore on our own. A bonus was meeting all the others in our group, all different ages, nationalities and backgrounds. "Kuldiga - the best tour of our two week stay"

We were met on time by our excellent and friendly tour guide Mikelis. We had the opportunity to see the real countryside of Kurzeme travelling through pine forests and open farmland with rustic old farms some long deserted. At every point Mikelis made admission to places effortless for us. We enjoyed the museum of cloth dolls in Sabile and the local owner showed us many of the old relics of the past. We climbed to the top of the vineyard in Sabile for a spectacular view from one of Latvia's 'mountains'. Munching an apple, we reflected on the war and bloodshed which had taken place here in the past. On to Kuldiga and lunch of authentic Latvian dishes cooked perfectly and a modern presentation in a wonderful restaurant complete with jazz music. We walked around Kuldiga's old, unchanged cobbled streets and churches. before Mikelis took us down to the widest waterfall in Europe. The local museum which is free to enter was a calm and fascinating trip back in time. Do not miss this gem. Mikelis allowed us as much time as we wished at the sites and although we had no English we were able to discuss the experiences of his parents and grandparents in the Soviet era as we described the escape of my wife's mother, uncle and grandmother during the 2nd world war. We could not have wished for a better tour nor for a better tour guide in Mikelis. We learned much more about Latvia in one day than we had in the previous 10 days.

The vehicle was very comfortable for our group of 5. It was a very pleasant day, seeing more of Latvia and Estonia. However, our guide bluffed a lot of the info, was totally disengaged with us and had no consideration for anybodies speed or needs

When you stay in Riga and want to get out of the beautiful city, definitely go on this tour. Jurmala is a very nice and beautiful area close to Riga with lots of hidden, and amazing spots, which you won't find on your own. Our guide Mikelis was amazing, and we learned a lot from him about Jurmala and Latvia itself. It was also very nice seeing him again, since we already went on another tour with him last year (bus tour from Riga to Tallinn). Thank you Mikelis for everything, we really enjoyed our time together :-)

"Best way to travel from Riga to Tallinn"

We opted for a private tour as it was more flexible. In particular, we had visited Sigulda for a full day (by train from Riga - recommended) so we asked to skip Sigulda and spend more time at Cesis Castle (also recommended.) Note - Elina said that even on a full tour, the guide can do that if everyone agrees. Elina was full of information and had excellent conversational English. Even if you are on the small group tour (about eight people, max nine), travelling between Riga and Tallinn this way allows you to see a lot more of the country outside the capital cities.

Took the tour from Riga to Vilnius. Stops included: Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. Along the way there was a stop for lunch (pay for yourself). Overall the tour was extremely well done, there was ample opportunity to explore at each location with the guide providing some history and information at each stop. Our guide was also top-notch and was able to not only give a great rundown of the history for each location but was also able to add some personal anecdotes. Would highly recommend as a way to get between cities while being able to see some of the countryside.

This was a great alternative to a regular bus from Riga to Tallinn. The tour was in a new minibus with only 6 passengers. The guide was a very good driver, extremely friendly, and knowledgeable about regional history and culture. We stopped at some places that really seemed to give a good representation of rural Latvia and Estonia. Most of the trip was on smaller highways and some dirt roads. It was nice to stop and spend time exploring places that had no other tourists there. I'm from the States and road trips through the country backroads are something that I have always enjoyed. This trip was exactly what I had hoped for. Highlights include: beautiful forests, teutonic castles, medieval towns, war museum, excellent restaurant for lunch, country scenery, and a bobsled track. Worth every penny!

We gathered in Riga and met our fellow travellers from all over the world, and Ruta our driver and guide. First stop was Salaspils prison camp to hear the beating heart monument and see the enormous statues, then Rundale to see the gardens. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant followed by a visit to the astonishing Hill of Crosses. We stopped at Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, before arriving in Vilnius in the evening. Ruta was informative and entertaining, telling us lots about the history of the places we visited, and joining in the jokes and banter in the mini-bus. Well worth taking the time to travel on this tour. Can highly recommend this trip.

"When the touring and travel meet."

This tour is a great way to see Latvia and Lithuania attraction while getting from Riga to Vilnius. It would've taken us 4 separate trips from Riga and Vilnius to see all of the attractions we have covered in one day. Our guide Kamile was very informative, upbeat and also had a good balance of quiet and tour time. Our 16 yo son was engaged and it is hard to please them at that age. I would also give huge praise to Kamille for being super helpful when we couldn't get into our hotel since we arrived late. When I couldn't reach hotel mgmt, I panicked and call the only person I knew in Vilnius at that time. Kamille was happy to help and went on looking into other available hotels even if that was not part of her job.

After we had already been on the tour from Tallinn to Riga we knew a little bit what to expect. But also this tour exceeded our expectations by far. The tour is very well worked out. The huge sculptures at Salaspils are amazing, and you'll never see anything like the Hill of Crosses anywhere else in the world. Rundale was okay, but not particularly impressive after the palaces in St. Petersburg, and although it was nice to have a stop in Kaunas, it doesn't have the attractions of Vilnius. Four of us booked this tour and even with the maximum eight, the bus wasn't too cramped. It sounds like a long bus journey but its neatly divided by four stops, two in Latvia, two in Lithuania so doesn't feel too onerous. All three sightseeing stops were great and few people around. Lunch was the fourth! Laura gave us plenty of information on each stop and general history of both countries. She was also an excellent driver! Would recommend.

The day tour from Riga to Vilnius was wonderful. We stopped at four beautiful sites which I had not known anything about. Two of them, Salispils in Latvia and Hill of Crosses in Lithuania, were emotionally very moving. The Riga to Vilnius transfer went without any hick ups. We had an guide/driver, well informed and a former Biologist. A full mini van with splendid and diverse conversation. If you are in the Baltic states and don't have enough time, these tours between Tallinn-Riga-Vilnius are the the best ways to get to know as much as it's possible. Kamile was an extraordinary guide! Thank you for the wonderfoul tour! The only too short stop was in Kaunas, maybe if the bus could arrive a bit later to Vilnius, that would be nice.

This one way bus trip is the perfect day trip. It allows you to see little known countryside towns you would otherwise never experience. It also still advances you trip rather than using a whole day only to end up back where you started. Had a long but thoroughly enjoyable day travelling from Riga to Vilnius via the Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses and Kaunas. Our stop off for lunch was also good, the meal was tasty and good value. The eight-seater transport was very comfortable and air-conditioned and the itinerary interesting, but the real star was our guide Laura, from Lithuania. It's not often you meet a guide so energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and with near-perfect English. Such a lot of fun too, an absolute gem. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone, many thanks Laura!

Overall it was a great tour and the tour guide was fantastic. The biggest downside, if you have a group of 8, two people will be smashed in the front seat. That's three deep for more than 12 hours. It is not comfortable and something I wish I knew beforehand.

First stop at the Salaspils monument and museum at the Nazi punishment and labour camp. Very moving site where you can hear an eternal heartbeat. Rundale palace was magnificent with awesome gardens. Hill of Crosses was amazing with over a million crosses of all sizes. Last stop at Kaunus with time to walk around the park and old town. Our guide (so sorry can't remember his name) was a very good driver and was very informative and made the trip interesting. Arrived in Vilnius a little earlier than expected amidst the 30 year Baltic Way celebrations.

"A fascinating tour and a complete journey"

We had an amazing journey with our guide and the pleasant group that was created. In a few hours we experienced particular things that we wouldn't ever seen without the tour, in particular the Gauja park, Cesis Castle and the fantastic typical lunch. An unexceptionable note is Uku, our guide: a knowledgeable and a very polite boy who took care of us for all the tour's duration making our trip unforgettable; he is also a good driver! In our opinion the only thing we would avoid is the visit to the war's museum because it's too tiring and not visiting it would reduced the duration of the trip.

I would have been miserable otherwise! I was a solo traveler and we had multiple solo travelers on the trip, which made it very enjoyable. I would have liked to visit the castle in Cesis, but that is really the only thing that I missed. I would like to explore your other options for tours in different countries. "City to city transfer with a difference!"

This is definitely the BEST way to transfer between Riga and Vilnius - with four really interesting and varied stops along the way - the Salaspils memorial, the beautiful Rundale Palace (the largest in the Baltic states), the unique Hill.of Crosses, and the very pretty former Lithuanian capital of Kaunas. A lovely lunch stop is also included - venison steak excellent. Our guide and driver Kamile was bubbly, chatty, informative and pleasant - despite having to drive 450 kn in a day! The only suggestion I would make for improvement is that possibly a little longer could be given time-wise at the Rundale palace for those travelers who want to see inside the palace in addition to having a look around the beautiful gardens.

Great way to travel between Riga and Vilnius which allowed us to see and experience several key sights along the journey such as Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, Kaunas and Trakai. We were very lucky with our guide Kamil, she was very helpful, informative, jolly, funny and a good driver too. The stops we made were enjoyable and helped to break the journey. We particularly liked the bob sleigh stop and the national park. It would have been fun to go down the bob sleigh run on bicycles, but we understand the need for health and safety !! We recommend the tour highly especially as Kamil was kind enough to stop to let us off early in Tallin so we were closer to our hotel. Very helpful.

After travelling from Vilnius to Riga with the Sihghtseeing Tour Bus, we continued the trip a few days later from Riga to Tallinn with the same tour operator, but different group, different tour leader and of course different route with different stops. This time: a sport site (bob and luge track in Sigulda), a romantic old town (Cesis), a walk in the national park (Gaujas), a military museum (Valga) and castle ruins (Viljandu). Entrance fees were included. Our tour leader was Estonian. He talked a lot about his home country and its history, but didn't know much about Latvia. In one case I even think he mixed up Latvia and Lithuania. Also the announcements (how long will we stop here?) were not always audible in the car. What is spoken in the drivers seat can not always be heard in the back. This is the reason for the missing fifth star. Besides this, the tour was fun. Of course it is a long day and near the end the country roads get a bit boring. However it is the perfect way to travel from Riga to Tallinn if you are not only looking for a transfer but for information, experience and nice company. Definitely recommend!

We did the bus tour Riga-Tallin. Laura was our guide/driver. A great experience: we just needed to travel one-way from Riga to Tallin and we decided to book the tour instead of a conventional bus or train ticket. We spent a nice and funny day. The tour is well organized, no rush and you can merge a transfer trip with a visit of some of the best Latvian and Estonian location. A special thanks to Laura (she is really one of the most energetics and positive person I have ever met) who was able to entertain us during the whole trip. Totally recommended and a must-go trip if you have to travel through Baltic capitals

In a comfortable new 9-seat van we get an excellent tour not only about countryside between Riga and Tallinn, but also an historical&cultural overview with all its details about development of populatian,language, traditional food, music etc. Private story of family and experiences of our guide added to the normal facts made it very special. I loved the tour and the company. If you want a nice trip between Riga and Tallin rather than a boring journey I would recommend it. Small negative I felt the tour guide was more interested in Estonian history than Latvian and we could have had more historical detail. Not sure about the military museum as I have an aversion to nationalism and militarism and the exhibits were only labelled in Estonian. It was interesting however to learn about Estonia’s struggle for independence. Lunch in Valga was great food. Other highlights were the Gauja national park and Viljendi.

We travelled as a group of six, from Hong Kong and Japan,. Although we have not been lucky in terms of weather (cloudy and rainy), we were very lucky to have Kamile as our guide. The tour itself was very well balanced in where to stop and what to see; we enjoyed the coutryside and learned a lot about the history of both Latvia and Lithuania. Kamile was also extremely helpful when, at the end of the tour at Vilinius, the hosts of one of our Airb&bs were quite irresponsible and our friends could not enter the apartment. She helped us communicate with the hosts by phone and although it must have taken longer than usual, she's dropped us all at our respective lodgings. Thank you so much! I highly recommend this mode of travel as it is much more fun than flying.

Ruta is an excellent tour guide. Our first stop was Salaspil, Latvia which was a Nazi camp. However, as we well know while the Soviets were building this Memorial Park, they (Stalin...Brezhnev) were shipping Latvians to Siberian Gulags. ¿Why haven't the Latvians built some Memorial here to all the Latvians that disappeared during the Communist Era. Or: ¿Is Latvia Still under Soviet Control?

It is interesting and very entertaining, but very tiring too. Our guide was great, with singing and drama and jokes. We thought the visit to the military "museum" was completely unnecessary as it is very poor and there's really nothing interesting there. Also we were horrified that they sold nazi uniforms there.

Our guide Laura was one of the most enthusiastic people I've ever met and her energy didn't falter once throughout the day. She tried to teach us a couple of Lithuanian phrases and explain the culture too which was really great to hear from a personal experience rather than from a book or website. The tour was good to see more of Latvia and Lithuania than just the capitals. The Salaspils memorial was worth seeing although very poignant and definitely made you feel the tragedy that occurred there. The only things that could be improved is maybe the guide being slightly quieter at the memorial as it felt a bit uncomfortable her doing the history so loudly as we were walking through. May be better to stop and group us around to talk for this site. Also, there was a lot of Abba on the bus- this may or may not be good depending on your view!

We also took the trip from Vilnius to Riga. We got what we hoped for: visits to the countryside to explore instead of just driving by. We stopped at a bobsledge venue, sandy cliffs, small towns with nice vistas, a military museum and had lunch at a fantastic hole-in-the wall in a town split by the border. As for our ride the guide was knowledgeable and drove safely. Bring some snacks. Water was provided.

We booked for a family group of 10. It was a great service. Pick up from the hotel in Riga and drop off at the hotel in Tallinn. Great stops along the way, nice restaurant for lunch - and pre/ordering was a great idea to keep our big group on schedule. The tour was a great way to see the country side for both countries, learn about the rich history, see the economic differences, visit cities off the map, and add to the European trip. Along the way we visited a brewery, military museum, national park, remains of a castle, and a national park. Our guide Mike was the best guide for such an experience as he told folklore and sang! This is a great way to see behind the scenes of the country. The 12 hours was long, and perhaps could be shortened to 10, but it was well worth the time, effort, and expense. Very much recommend it.

Great way to get between capitals and see some of the sights on the way. The guides are very good and helpful. However our mini bus was a disaster. The seat belts did not work and eventually the bus broke down altogether. Another bus had to be arranged which meant we spent quite some time in a service station. ⁷Disappointing as not cheap.

Sights we saw were cool but all no cost but the one garden - which they pay entrance for - four Euros. Lunch not included, so the 65 Euros seems a bit much for the tour. Remember that 12 hours can also be a bit long. But, if you don't have another way to see these sights and you want to see these particular things, then this is the way to go. Laura was energetic but lacked in the guiding area in terms of recommendations or advice of bathrooms or what to see when you have free time.

We really enjoyed our day trip and gave as a better understanding of the two countires, which is often missed when only visiting capital cities. It was a very long day, and the last section was about 2 and a half hours, so my back was a little sore the ne t day. This tour is a fantastic way to travel between the Baltic capitals - public transport in these countries is not fabulous but on this tour, you get to easily travel from country to country whilst experiencing some of the sights and history along the way. The only constructive feedback I have is that two such tours were run that day - I was in a mini bus at full capacity (eight passengers) but the other tour only had three people in the same sized mini-bus...

Laura was a highly dynamic guide, passionate and informed about her home country of Lithuania and the Baltic states in general. We had previously done the Tallinn to Riga tour so our expectations were high and we were not disappointed. Again it was really nice meeting a small group of people from all over the world and spending some time with them doing interesting stops that naturally sparked conversations. The stops on the tour were varied, quite different from the Tallin to Riga tour, well structured and thought out. The restaurant we ate lunch in had a tasty, locally inspired menu at reasonable prices.

With Karolis as our guide we set off on time and made the short journey to our first stop. By this time we were all chatting about our different experiences in the Baltics and looking forward to discovering more. The stops do vary but we visited the prison camp, mountain of crosses, a palace of the lover of one of the Romanov daughters and finally the old town of Kaunas. Our fellow travellers parted in great spirit and whilst a little weary from the journey far more aware of both Latvia and Lithuania. Great trip, very charming and knowledgeable guide and would recommend the experience to young and old alike.

Just took the tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide, Mike, was really friendly and personable, and made the trip for us. He kept up entertaining conversation as the picturesque fields rolled past and we chewed our Latvian “cow candy”. He also told his family’s personal stories as a means of highlighting the living history of this region. Also in our group was a family who had just taken part in the singing festival in Estonia, and Mike sang with them. A great host for a great trip. The trip itself was a set of places I would otherwise have no means of getting to, and that I may not have even known existed. I would highly recommend this tour and this trip!!

Our trip from Riga to Vilnius was amazing, in main part to our wonderful guide Lau. He had a bus full of ladies and made our day comfortable, easy and enjoyable. He was a master at the walk and talk and gave us plenty of time to see the sights, great background knowledge about each place and personalized drop off to each of our hotels. He also gave us each some Lithuanian chocolate and candies as a sweet gift! We really loved traveling with him and the sights we were able to see along the way which would have taken up much more time as day trips from Riga or Vilnius. Definitely the best and most entertaining way to get from city to city, meet other travelers and get a local guide!

If your time in Latvia and Lithuania is limited, this is a great way to see some of the highlights in the country side without the need for extra day trips from Riga or Vilnius. You're likely taking the bus between these two cities anyways, so I highly recommend this scenic route. Anna was a great guide and driver--she was knowledgeable about the sights and gave us plenty of time to explore most of them.

A great day. This is a ‘no brainer’ option tour for getting from Riga to Tallinn (or the opposite). It was comfortable, interesting and we saw sights that are more than the run of the mill tourist spots. Even the lunch stop was amazing. We arrived in Tallinn with plenty of time for dinner. Getting the inside on Latvia and Estonia from a young, respectful, interesting and capable tour guide gave us a real perspective on these countries that have endured a tough history. Thanks to Anna and our new friends for the day for a memorable day.

"Is a good way to get reelevant places"

The concept is a great idea, yu travel from city to another and in the middles you visit reelevant touristic and historical sites. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, but as she is driving too. I think what is missing is to explain more of Riga and Vilinios cities when you leave and when you arrive. because when we arrive to ilnius there was no expanation about the city at all, at leas some ideas of where to go and what to visit would be helpful.

We had a great time with our tour host, Lau. He was super upbeat, had some great playlists the he played during the drive (after lunch when we were all sleepy it was calming piano and ambient music), and he was really kind. He shared some great facts about each site but also insight into Lithuanian culture. We had a great time-- thanks for a lovely trip!

Great way to see a bit of the country outside the main cities of Riga and Vilnius. The Hill of Crosses was pretty cool and the large statues of the liberation of Salaspils in Latvia was educational. A great way to spend a day to those looking for a journey between these two countries and not just a destination.

Good experience, but may be would better if we had been 30 minutes more in kaunas. We arrived to Vilnius al 8:17 and the visit was from 9AM to 9 PM. It was a shame the rain in the hill of crosses

Great way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great however still interesting sites. would have liked for the inside of Rundale castle to have been include in price. That with the price of lunch made the whole tour expensive for a family. The lunch however was a highlight, delicious and the best meal we had on our visit! Although we stopped at Kaunas it was late in the day and most museums, etc. were closed. Perhaps another site could be added instead of Kaunas. Kamile, our guide was affable and friendly and helpful. Although a bit expensive we would still recommend this tour as a great way of transferring between Riga and Vilnius.

This was a great way to see interesting places in both Latvia and Lithuania, especially for a person like me who doesn't have a driver's licence so I can't rent a car. Our guide spoke very good english and told us a lot about the history of the sights we visited and he also gave us time to explore these places on our own.

We very much enjoyed our trip from Riga to Tallinn, Elina, our tour guide, gave us detailed information about each place we visited. We never would have been able to see all of these places had we not taken the tour. We loved hearing about the history of Estonia and walking through the medieval towns of Viljandi and Cēsis. This was a really excellent way to transfer between Riga and Vilnius and to see a number of interesting sights along the way. Anna was a fantastic guide - she was flexible and very aware of people's needs, whilst ensuring that the tour proceeded efficiently. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging and provided just the right amount of commentary. It was good to have sufficient time to visit the palace rooms at Rundale - another 15/20 minutes here would have been great, though there was a lot of other things to fit in. The lunch venue was very well chosen. The Hill of Crosses was spectacular.

This is the best and easier way to visit all the interesting sites between Riga and Tallinn. You can find the full schedules in their website. The most interesting parts were hiking at the Gauja National Park, walking around the small castle town Viljandi, and the best was lunch at the Valmiermuiza brewery, they have the best beer in Latvia and the food was great! We can not possibly have such a wonderful trip without our guide, Mikelis! He was helpful and knowledgable, told us fun stories and even sang for us!

It was my first time joining a small bus tour in this part of Europe. it turned out to be a perfect choice. We need to go to Tallinn from Riga, it provided us with transport combined with tour along the way. I loved the places along the way, a nice lunch, National Park walk and even had time to pick some berries and mushrooms. Katrin our guide had done a fantastic job, couldn't be better. She even had a perfect cup if coffee with her in the small cafe in Medieval old town Cesis in order to escape the rain. Katrin is a very knowledgeable tour guide, I hope to join some other tours by her and Traveller next time.

Overall interesting and informative but in an attempt (I guess) to make tour members relate to the horrors of children being separated from their parents at work camps, our guide very suddenly shouted “MAMA!!!” during his explanation. All of our group members were visibly startled/confused, as were other visitors at the memorial. This was completely inappropriate and should be stopped immediately.

"A great tour for all ages"

We were looking for transport between Riga and Vilnius, as we had been using trains throughout but none are available during the week, and we didn’t want to sit on a coach for over 4 hours. An internet search produced this tour, but we were initially a little dubious about its suitability for older people, as the pick-up point was outside a hostel and the promotion video features only energetic young people! However, from the moment Beatrice and her colleagues arrived in their shiny vans with their friendly greeting, we knew the day would be good! The 4 of us 70-year-olds from the UK were accompanied by 2 young ladies from Singapore, and we had a great time together, with Beatrice providing an excellent balance of information, personal anecdotes and humour, as well as being a very good driver. Lunch was good (especially as we ordered ahead, so didn’t have to wait long for it), and the palace, hill of crosses and Kaunas were all most interesting and enjoyable. We arrived in Vilnius after an excellent, full day. Full marks to Beatrice, our guide, a journalism student with a wide knowledge and excellent English, always prepared to learn more! We can highly recommend this way of travelling between Riga and Vilnius (or vice versa).

Best choice to travel to travel Riga - Tallin. You travel with a group and within the travel time you can make good travel friends, you see places you would not even thought of visiting. The journey is broken up with stops at various stops. The driver/Gulde Michael - what can i say about him. I was pleased that I booked 2 of the day tours with this company, both Riga-Tallinn and Riga-Vilnius. The Riga-Vilnius tour stoped at four sites. The first was the peaceful yet moving memorial to victims of labour camps. Next was the Rundāle Palace. After that the Hill of Crosses. And lastly Kaunas, former capital of Lithuania. Our guide explained the history clearly and with enthusiasm and was very knowledgeable about the region. She was also an excellent driver. The small size of the group was good as I guess we were therefore easy to manage - no poor timekeeping! The highlight for me was probably Rundāle. The gardens were glorious, the palace delightful. The low point if any was lunch as the restaurant was crowded with other tours and struggled to cope; and the food was not great ( compared with others I went to in the region. In general I would heartily recommend these one-way day tours.

Our guide was excellent and packed a huge amount into the day: we were able to spend good periods of time at each of the destinations listed. "Great guide and tour. Issue with pick up point"

Karolis was great. Very knowledgeable and a really good bloke. Really enjoyed the day. All the stops were decent though Hill of Crosses the highlight. Only issue was trying to get the pick up point details which included 2-3 phone calls the day before. 2 or 3 out of 5 for the admin. 5 for the guide and tour.

Our driver had great enthusiasm and was very positive. My only question is about the length of time at certain stops. I would’ve preferred much more time at Salaspils and Rundale Palace, and far less time (or not even stop) in Kaunas. Also, at Rundale, I wish we were given an option whether to see the gardens or the inside. (We were provided only a ticket to the garden.) I paid for my own entrance to the Palace, but had to walk fast to see it due to the short time there. These are just my opinions... But otherwise, Traveler Tours are a great way to see more of the countryside & harder to reach on your own places, and I recommend them!!

Laura our guide was brilliant! She was funny, extremely enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. The sights we went to see we’re really interesting, and not crowded at all as they were off the beaten track & away from where most other tourists go. It was a fun way to see the Baltics. I wanted to give this tour 5 stars but I found the minivan to be very uncomfortable to spend 11 hours travelling in. A few hours would be ok but for a whole day of travelling it would be nice to be in a less cramped bumpy small vehicle. But other than that, great tour, highly recommend it

"Riga to Tallinn and a whole lot more in between"

Taking this tour was the best way for me to get from Riga to Tallinn. Besides actually getting to my destination I was able to stop at so many more places that I would not have seen otherwise. The short stop at the bobsleigh track was fun and interesting and the visit to the town of Cēsis was a great opportunity to walk around a bit in this charming town. The visit to the Gauja National Park was a major highlight - we had a good walk and were able to appreciate Latvia's natural beauty. After lunch in Valga our last stop was in picturesque Viljandi where we had the opportunity to try out the very Estonian sport of kiiking (team swinging on a giant wooden swing) - exhilarating to say the least! We were in the very capable hands of Gregor, our guide/driver for the day - nothing was too much trouble for him and he was willing to answer questions at any stage and not just stick to a planned script. Gregor certainly went a long way to making it an unforgettable day - a huge thank you to him and to Traveller Tours.

The tour was challenging for our guide as the public holiday meant roads were closed and usual restaurants and some sites weren’t open. He was great at improvising and finding other venues and events that made the most of the holiday activities. It was wonderful to have access to such knowledge of the history and culture, all relayed with a sense of fun. This is my second trip of this type and I highly recommend it

This is the perfect way to travel from one capital to another. Just as our trip from Vilnius-to Riga was delightful, the trip from Riga to Tallinn was just as enjoyable and informative. Once again, our guide Mike could not have been more enthusiastic, personable, entertaining, and knowledgeable. He has a special gift. The day was long but never boring and, because of the variety of stops along the way, including a memorable walk through the state park forest and buying exquisite strawberries from a farm, it flew by pleasurably. We are world travelers, but this was a winner!

Laura welcomed us and made it possible for a very disparate group to become adventure buddies! Laura’s knowledge and people skills kept us willingly on our toes throughout the day (which flashed by) She negotiated times with us, was kind and respectful. Nobody was left out or behind. Everything was done with a light touch and where possible her irrepressible sense of humour. There were serious times, when we visited the concentration camp in Latvia. Her knowledge about the places we visited and the history of the Baltic states gave me many more insights than my reading. She made the history real, human and where appropriate, funny. I have never been on a guided tour before but this has encouraged me. The day was fabulous, the lunch, the palace, the hill of crosses. My diary entry has gone on for pages rather than the usual brief notes. I will always remember that day and I know that my fellow adventurers will. Thankyou Laura, for a special, wonderful day. I will never forget it. Oh - not forgetting her beautiful rendition of the lullaby her mother sang to her!

We were staying in Riga but wanted to visit Tallinn for a few days and also see a bit more of Latvia apart from just Riga. This tour was perfect for that. It was well paced with a good balance of travel and visits. The stops were all very interesting and enjoyable. Our guide Anna was fantastic, funny engaging,knowledgeable and clearly passionate about both Latvia and Estonia, their history and their future. There is clearly also a great friendly rivelry between the two countries which was a lot of fun and a recurring theme (also came up on tours we did in Estonia). Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our day tour from Riga to Vilnius and could not recommend it more. It's an excellent way to make one's way between the capitals while also visiting interesting places along the way. The trip really appealed to me because instead of losing half a day to travel, you get a fully packed sightseeing day. The tour did NOT disappoint. We had an incredible guide - Laura - who was just a pleasure to spend the day with. She was very informative about all the sites AND she had amazing energy throughout the day. She was so enthusiastic and friendly and energetic that it felt like we were traveling with a new friend! It's great to spend time with someone who seems to be truly excited about her job. She provided a great introduction to Lithuania for us and she told us a lot about the region and the country. Overall, after a packed 10 day tour, the day we spent with Laura was one of the highlights for all four of us. Highly Recommend!

Chosen instead of a boring flight with time wasted at airports, this was a way to see the countryside and something of the smaller towns on the way. Our guide had a wealth of information at her fingertips and gave insights into modern life in Latvia and Estonia and history of the Baltic States. This added hugely to our short stay in the two countries. I must also say that the vehicle used was ideal for the journey and that our guide's driving was impeccable.

Travelling with a small group between Riga and Tallinn is a great choice. There are worthy stops along the way including Viljandi Castle, a huge Swing that needs to be experienced and a beautiful nature walk.

It was an easy way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. We saw the amazing countryside outside of the big cities...beautiful. The holocaust memorial is so impactful, so well done. I found the hill of the crosses to be less so. The castle was worth the visit but the hour spent in Kaunas could have been by passed...we found a bar and a bottle of wine. Kamile outstanding and her recommendation for dinner proved exceptional.

I'd booked this tour when it still included a stop at Trakai, and was a little disappointed when they changed the itinerary slightly to remove Trakai. However, after going on the tour, I think that was a great decision. The tour made 4 stops: Salaspils Memorial, Rundale Palace, Hill of Crosses, and Kaunas. We had a good amount of time at each place, although I wish we'd had 15 minutes less at Hill of Crosses and 15 minutes more at Rundale Palace. With the time given at Rundale Palace, you can either tour the garden (which is included in the price of the tour), or you can buy your own ticket to tour the inside of the palace. I managed to cram in both, but it was very, very rushed, and the inside of the palace ended up being the highlight of the day for me. I think if the tour cost an extra 10EUR and included the ticket to tour the inside of the palace for an extra 15-20 minutes, with less time at Hill of Crosses, it would have been perfect. We had about 35 minutes I think at Hill of Crosses, and it was a little too much since it starts to look all the same after a while.

First off this was our second trip with Anna. She is spectacular! Very mature and friendly. She handles every detail wonderfully and is a good driver! My favorite stop was the Hill of Crosses. The memorial in Latvia Salaspils was also really worthwhile - it’s one of the most haunting places I’ve ever been but important given that I brought my teen son with me in part to learn history of the region and we both appreciated all the stops and Anna’s knowledgable guidance at each location.

We had an awesome time on our Riga-Vilnius trip! Our guide was exceptional; he was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable. (It was 37 degrees, so that was no small feat!) He answered all of our questions with skill and humor, and taught us about Latvian and Lithuanian cultures. We took his advice about restaurants in Vilnius and have been amazed by our experiences. I hope to come back to the Baltic someday and take some more tours with your company. We are not interested in a bobsled run; Cesis did not have much to offer; the military museum turned out to be a private collection of discarded Soviet military items. The Gauja Nat’l Park was worthwhile seeing and the Viljandi site offered historical as well as cultural context. Unless the itinerary is improved we would not recommend. Our guide Elena was very good: a responsible driver, well informed, communicated well, approachable. This interaction with a native was valuable.

We did this tour bus two days after taking the sightseeing bus from Tallinn to Riga and had the same knowledgeable and funny guide, Mike. We enjoyed all the stops on this tour and also had a great time trying traditional Lithuanian food for lunch. I particularly enjoyed the Rundāle Palace gardens and the Hill of Crosses, but the Rundāle Palace had so much to see that we could have done it as a day excursion. Overall, we were really happy to have Mike as our guide again, and he kept us entertained during the longer stretches of driving by playing us Latvian songs and pointing out storks/other animals along the road. Both of the sightseeing buses we took were great and I would highly recommend both of them!

We took this tour as we only had a short amount of time available in both countries and this seemed like an efficient way to do it. The tour included 6 of us and then our tour guide Kamile. The small tour group was great as it meant we had some flexibility in what we did and we got to know some of the others of the tour. We got a good amount of time in each place and the whole tour was set at a very good pace. Kamile was a great tour guide and she had lots of interesting stories to tell us about her family who grew up Lithuania during the Soviet times. She gave us lots of information in each place and I felt like I knew quite a bit about Lithuania by the end of the day! I really recommend this tour for the local experiences and to see these amazing sights.

I really liked the tour, and the group I was with. As a solo traveler that was a key element. I got to sit up front which IMO is the best seat. Kamile was really knowledgeable, especially about the Occupation. And she was really helpful when i needed someone to take my picture. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is due to the fact that we didn't visit Trakai even though when I purchased the ticket, it was listed as a stop. I didn't receive a notification and only found out when we drove past the exit. Not cool.

Well, i must say that Anna was a fabulous guide and knew how to communicate with the group, and as a lady she turned out to be an excellent driver, so we all arrived in Vilnius in one piece! . Usually i get nervous with female drivers as i bought my wife a new car 3 years ago and not yet brave enough to let her drive me around (Haha). A pity the Trakia stop was not included but realise that it was probably a good decision as the next day i spent 4 hours wandering around the peninsula. A pity that there is no option to visit the interior of Rundale Palace, but again there probably would not be enough time. The tour gave us a good idea of the four places where we stopped, and i particularly enjoyed the Hill of Crosses, leaving a cross there for my wife. The restaurant stop was in the middle of nowhere, might have been better to have lunch in the town so people had a choice. However i rally enjoyed my choice, shashlik chicken followed by apple pie and ice cream. The price seemed very reasonable for such a nice restaurant. I tried to book the Tallinn- Riga tour but unfortunately there were not enough people who signed up for it, a pity!

The countryside in the spring was really beautiful with yellow canola fields, blue skies and storks flying above. I was wowed by the gardens at Rundle Palace. Not something that I expected to see in Latvia. I booked the tour to see the hill of crosses and was not disappointed. Our guide was really warm-hearted and funny. It was more about the experience and less about the detailed history. He was really good at making us all feel at ease and connecting with a bunch of strangers. I would have preferred to arrive in Vilnius a bit sooner and skip out on our last stop as we we all tired and hungry by 9pm with only big lunch in our tummies but no supper. Bring along a granola bar would be my recommendation. Overall, loved it and would recommend it!

While this concept is amazing and a very fun way to get from point A to point B, and our guide was super knowledgeable and lovely (and as invested in Eurovision as we were haha), the itinerary could use a little bit of work. There is only one stop for food in 12 hours (we luckily brought some snacks, but were still dying by the end of it) and tucking in a long school-like lesson about the Soviet Occupation (and gross food with worms in it) right before lunch might not be the wisest scheduling. I personally also think almost 50 minutes of war is a bit much, as important as it is to know your history, I'd rather have spent some more time exploring the National Park! All in all it was an alright tour though, and like I said our guide was lovely, there's just a lot of room for itinerary improvements!

If you want to get from Riga to Tallinn and see the sights along the way, then this is the way to travel. Laura was our driver and guide and entertained us all the way with her knowledge (her mother is a history teacher) and her talent (she sang a song for us at the beautiful medieval castle at Viljandi). It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and one of the highlights of our trip around the Baltic countries.

The guide's knowledge of the history of the area was extensive, we learned a great deal, and he could readily answer any questions that we asked. Pärnu was lovely and the patience that our guide showed as my son shopped for the "perfect" Estonian wool sweater is commendable! We had a delicious pizza lunch before continuing to Tallinn. We felt very comfortable asking our guide for a WC stop, temperature control in the van, etc. This was a VERY positive experience and i would highly recommend the tour as a worthwhile way to enhance travel between Riga and Tallinn!! We had a really great tour from Riga to Vilnius with Kamile. She kept us entertained and also is super knowledgable and full of great stories. While the tour obviously costs more than public transportation, we felt it was definitely worth it because we saw some places we wouldn't have chosen to see beforehand but really enjoyed, and others which we wanted to see but are really hard to access via public transportation. Unfortunately, due to the shorter days in winter, Trakai wasn't included in our tour, but it was an easy trip from Vilnius, so it wasn't so bad.

There would not have been a better way to go to Tallinn from Riga. Marju was exceptional and really made the trip very pleasant. The stops were well planned with adequate time to go around. The best part was the associated information that Marju conveyed effortlessly keeping the tour quite interesting! The lunch was at an amazing place with great local cuisine. Marju was able to get us there despite the place not being fully available as it was the day after christmas. The van was comfortable and driving was good. She also provided great pointers on what to do and try in Tallinn which really helped my stay in Tallinn. Aitah Marju!

We had a great time from Rīga-Vilnius. The tour guide is super good and has a good attitude and understand our needs. They are very useful and informative giving us a snap info of where we visit. As we traveled with seniors, they did their best to accommodate our parents by having parking space/drop off and pick up location next to the places we visit and help them to get on and off the mini van. I would recommend this trip to everyone. It is far better than you drive yourself in such a bad weather conditions. It is worried-free. All you need to do is to sit back and relax.

We had a private bus tour from Riga to Vilnius and we are really glad that we did it in this way, otherwise it would be impossible to have visited so many places in one day if we had done it by public transportation. It was so much easier when travelling with kids and big luggages. And we learned so much about the history of the Baltic countries (especially Lithuania!). Laura is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable, helpful, funny with great personality! Would highly recommend this tour to anyone who travel through the Baltic countries!

We were picked up in a minibus and it was comfortable. The tour was great if you are going from either Vilnius to Riga or the opposite. We got from Riga to Vilnius and it was a lot of interesting stops on the way. We learned alot of history about al the Baltic countries and saw new places. Our tour guide was Laurynas and it was like visiting a history lesson, a theater tour and comedy stand up at once. He drived safe and careful. It’s a very low price for a whole day of entertainment. I want to recommend everybody to take this trip. You will regret not doing this.

"A fun-filled way to get from Riga to Tallinn!"

We recently took the Riga-Tallinn Sightseeing tour bus and it was one of the best experiences ever! We took a private tour as there was no public tour that day. Our guide, Mike picked us up from our hotel in Riga and led us for an amazing day trip. Our first stop was at the Bobsleigh track - it provided wonderful views over the area and was a fun trek to see an actual working ice track! Next, we visited the quaint old town of Cesis to pick up soveniors and grab a cup of coffee, Following that, the trek through the Gauja national park was definitely the highlight of the day - a chance to really connect with nature in a snowy walk. We then stopped for lunch near a Beer Factory, before heading to our last stop of the day, Viljandi to see the ruins of the fort. Finally, we were dropped off at our hotel in Tallinn with a day full of fond memories! Overall, a fun trip and definitely recommended to do!

Everything was on time and very comfortable. 5 well chosen spots to stop along the way. Lucky with the weather but unfortunately the last two stops in the dark due to short days but both stops are beautifully lit up at night, so it was still perfect in a different way. "Gloomy weather but still a shiny tour"

Camile our tour guide made up for the gloomy, rainy, cold and windy weather by being the most cheerful tour guide i've ever experienced. It was more like having a conversation with a friend more than being with a tour guide during our tour. She really made us feel at home and we enjoyed our trip!

I hate getting frustrated and in general that's why I put my expectations so low about everything. When I saw a 12 hours tour stuck with strangers I thought: man, that's going to be either a total crap or a exhausting experience. My thoughts were wrong, that was an AMAZING experience! And I would say, the success was solely thanks to our guide driver: Laura was is her name (make sure you get the pronunciation correct mate). But to give you a brief explanation about my day: When she first spoke at like 7:50 AM (so full of energy), I was hangover, with a headache after a big night out with drinks, I thought: This is going to be a DISASTER! But what I thought was going power my irritability (her endless energy) was the biggest blessing of the day. It was by her energy that the trip turned out to be one of the ones I will never forget! She really turned around the wheel and showed the amazing sights between Riga, Vilnius and everything in between with the honesty and passion that only a truly wonderful local would be able to do. If "Traveler Tours" have chosen her to be their driver, trust me and my partner who was with me, they know what they are doing! Be aware readers, to change my mood (I'm such a grumpy person) it's one achievement that It's really rare. I still follow her on insta just to get a glimpse of the amazing places she visits and the endless energy that she emanates. Make sure you get Laura as your driver, but if you don't I'm sure it will be an amazing experience anyway. Also, think about it: the alternative is a bleak cold buss, that goes from city to city bypassing everything in between. I could be telling you about the places I've visited (that you would not visit if you chose the cold and bleak buss). Places that are so unearthly (like the Hill of Crosses) that I would not be able to put down in words. Or I could tell you about the castles, that are stunning (but mostly rebuilt from after war), but I could never explain the memories and the passions built in the stories that our driver did. Thank you so much Laura! <3 Bottom line: If you came to read the reviews it's probably because you are unsure if it's worth your time&money. I've already given you the answer so: there are LIMITED spots, don't waste your time, just book it. By the time you read this might be none left, sorry. "Best Way to Travel from Riga to Tallinn"

Taking the small group tour between Riga and Tallinn was a great decision I made. The tour was fantastic and I got to see places in Latvia and Estonia that I would have not seen myself. Mike was an amazing guide, very thoughtful, kind and funny. He answered all the questions from the travelers so kindly and patiently and made sure everyone was going at their own pace. Glad I saw the picturesque small towns and spent some time outdoors in the Gauja national park. This trip comes highly recommended to anyone not wanting to do the drive themselves and wanting to see some beautiful places outside the cities of Tallinn and Riga.

Alina, our driver and guide, was very cheerful and active. She had lots of stories and jokes to tell. She drove carefully. The van was spacious and had lots of space for luggage. A bottle of drinking water was provided. The whole tour took 12 hours. I find it too long. One of the reasons was Alina was not very strict with time. Some tourists spent their time as they wanted.

I had previously taken the tour from Vilnius to Riga, because I think it’s a good opportunity to see some of these beautiful countries outside of their capital cities. This tour was also very interesting and informative. Our guide was friendly and welcoming, he gave a great introduction to his country.

Travelling from Riga to Tallinn, we wanted to take in as much of the country side as we could. Alternative travel methods such as direct bus or plane didn’t really appeal as you missed out on seeing the country first hand. This tour was great! 12 hours travel but it took us to off the beaten track sights. We visited castles and towns; forests and bobsled tracks; all with the amazing help and knowledge of our tour guide. Great experience and highly recommended

We recently visited the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. We organized our own itinerary but used Traveller Tours to get us from one country to the next. We arrived in Tallinn, Estonia a day earlier to visit the city. The next day, Traveller Tours took us from Tallinn to Riga, Latvia. We spent the next day, visiting Riga ourselves. The following day, we continued our Traveller Tour to Vilnius, Lithuania. The following day, we included the city guided Vilnius tour in our visit. Traveller Tours is a great way to see the Baltic countryside visiting may sites you wouldn’t see otherwise. Our drivers, Camille and La..were friendly, and enthusiastic guides. They were knowledgeable of the past and present history of their countries. A lot of this history was told to them by their grandparents who experienced WW II. This day trip lets you discover so much of these amazing countries that you would never know if you only visited the capital cities. The Baltic countries are all beautiful and unique, with a complex history and so many interesting sites to explore. This day trip gives you a taste for all of it - sobering war camps, beautiful gardens, (tasty) reindeer farms, the awesome hill of crosses, and even sunset over the castle at Trakai. But enough about the countries - the real highlight was the tour guide. Imagine a viking crossed with a teady-bear, and then topped with a playful sense of humour and a deep, honest interest in everyone he meets. Oh, and did I mention he sometimes gives you chocolate? Laurynas made the trip fun, educational, and inspiring. His passion for the Baltic countries, and their history, was entirely contagious. Also, he has really good taste in music playlists! I can't recommend this tour and the company any more highly - just book it!

This was a great way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. Although 12 hours sounded like a long day, it went surprisingly quickly. This was certainly helped by our knowledgeable and friendly driver (Lau), his good sense of humour and excellent choice of road trip music! Our stops were all interesting and lunch was also well priced and tasty. Traveller Tours were also quick to reply to email and booking enquires. I highly recommend this company and their tours.

This was the ideal way to get to know more about the two countries, see some of the iconic sites and get from A to B. Laurynas brought history to life and took very good care of us. So we were well looked after, had a nice lunch (the apple pie is much recommended!) and altogether a very good time together.

As with most people, I opted to take this tour to see a bit of the countryside of Latvia / Lithuania rather than take the direct bus route. Overall, the tour was great - well paced (we left and arrived on time, and the guide made sure we had ample opportunity to see sites), great information at each stop, and plenty of time to explore independently after the initial introduction to the site. Really enjoyed it!

"Excellent, convenient trip stopping at several major sites!"

I was so happy to discover this tour offering. Being able to not only transfer efficiently between Riga and Vilnius, but at the same time make 5 stops at tourist highlights I had wanted to visit anyway, was really great! This is especially true because some places (like Hill of Crosses) are not that easy to get to by public transportation. In general visiting all these places would have taken me at least two days, so this was really an efficient and stress-free way to travel. Our guide was excellent -- engaging, open, full of information not only on the sites but also on life and current events in the Baltics overall. The small group design of the tour as well as the super reasonable price were awesome as well. This is a highly recommended tour and company. (In fact, I wanted to do some of their other tours organized in Lithuania, but unfortunately at this time of year there is limited availability because of relatively few tourists). I'll definitely consider the Talinn-Riga and other tours with Traveller Tours the next time I am in the region!!!!

This is a great tour to travel from Riga to Vilnius as we saw many important attractions along the way. It's a great way to meet other travellers from all over the world as we had 5 nationalities among the 8 of us! Laura was lots of fun to be with and was very kind to have dropped us off at our lodging. Highly recommend this tour.

"Start as strangers end as a little family"

Travelled from Riga to Vilnius in September 2018 with Kamille. Would definitely recommend this tour transfer. The stops to driving ratio was good and although I would love to have stayed longer in some places it isn't possible without making it an over long day. However because my time in the area was limited it at least meant I saw some pretty great sights. My travelling companions were lovely, a group if strangers who ended the day as a little family on the bus

I am glad that such a wonderful idea with one way travel is created by this company. The itinerary is well planned that covered most of the interesting sites, like the round Palace and the hill of the crosses, the Trakai castle island and Kaunas. All in one day! You save a lot of time and money. The guide, Laura, is very professional and full of enthusiastic in telling us about the history background of the sites. We had a great time and good weather. I really recommend this tour to everyone! It worth the money!

"Interesting and enjoyable "

The bus took us from Riga to Vilnius with stops at points of interest along the way. First stop was at Salaspils memorial, that opened up a whole area of history to us and was very moving. We’d have liked longer here to see more of the museum. The next stop was Rundale Palace, a stunning surprise with gardens to rival Versailles. We had lunch at a restaurant offering traditional Lithuanian food, with venison on the menu and limited vegetarian options. The Hill of Crosses in North Lithuania is surely unique; we saw two bridal parties there and our guide explained the custom. After that was Lithuania’s second city, Kaunas; we could have done with less time here. Final stop was the really beautiful Trakai, It was a fine evening and a stroll was welcome, unfortunately the castle was closing so we couldn’t go in. Some people sampled a famous local pastry speciality. Our guide Kamile was excellent, engaging, knowledgeable and with first rate English. All in all, we’d highly recommend this tour to anybody who wants to learn about life in the three Baltic states, past and present.

The guide is professional and ready to answer to the questions I had. The only thing is the restaurant stop: I would change that restaurant, the entire personnel was frozen with no emotion towards customers. The weitress was extremely distant and did the basic.
