Really enjoyed the tour and learnt alot about Latvia and Lithuania.
Good to have some stop-overs during the long hours of usual driving route. Local guides tell local stories along the way. The group size is just right.
We had such a good tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our driver/ guide was excellent. He was knowledgeable about the sites and history. He made the trip a lot of fun and he had a great sense of humour. Also he was a very safe driver.
Omg. So much to say!! Alina?? Or Alona? A lithuanian chick was our tour guide. Totally hilarious and friendly!!! I kept getting lost on private walks but she was my hero!!!
The bus took us from Riga to Vilnius with stops at points of interest along the way. First stop was at Salaspils memorial, that opened up a whole area of history to us and was very moving. We’d have liked longer here to see more of the museum. The next stop was Rundale Palace, a stunning surprise with gardens to rival Versailles. We had lunch at a restaurant offering traditional Lithuanian food, with venison on the menu and limited vegetarian options. The Hill of Crosses in North Lithuania is surely unique; we saw two bridal parties there and our guide explained the custom. After that was Lithuania’s second city, Kaunas; we could have done with less time here. Final stop was the really beautiful Trakai, It was a fine evening and a stroll was welcome, unfortunately the castle was closing so we couldn’t go in. Some people sampled a famous local pastry speciality. Our guide Kamile was excellent, engaging, knowledgeable and with first rate English. All in all, we’d highly recommend this tour to anybody who wants to learn about life in the three Baltic states, past and present.
This was an excellent day stopping at 5 very interesting sites along the way.
We couldn't have asked for a better day day. The sights we visited were fascinating (especially the Hill of Crosses), the countryside interesting and our guide informative. Would highly recommend this tour.
Absolutely satisfied with the tour. Make you feel like traveling in family. Safe driver. Five Stars!!!
It was really good experience. The trip was well organized, we visited several beatiful places, small picturesque towns, walked in pineapple forest, learnt interesting things about Latvia and Estonia history. Despite the long day, it was "light" and "live" trip, thanks to our guide Line, very nice person with good sense of humour. The lunch in the authentic restaurant was super delicious. We really enjoyed the trip, would recommend this option to everyone.
My son and I joined the rest of the group travelling from Riga to Tallin. Our guide was Mikelis. He entertained us very well throughout the day with his local knowledge and even threw in a couple of folk songs. It was a great experience, visiting some really interesting places we would never of considered normally visiting. I would throughly recommend the trip to anyone wanting to travel between the 2 cities.
Our guide new Marju knew the hidden places, explained various things on the way.
It didn't seem like a long day but we left Riga easily and after stopping at monuments, castles with lakes and gardens, then the Hill of Crosses arriving in Vilnius for dinner made for an easy, stress-less day. Great experience especially with our driver/guide Adams ability to keep a rapid pace through the day.
We had a wonderful day with Laura T of Traveller. We took the tour from Riga to Tallinn and visited the beautiful cities in between. Laura was very helpful with our six month old. She was very knowledgeable and shared trivia facts about the places we visited. She even picked fresh berries for us. She is a bright girl and we wish her well. We really had a memorable time with her and would cherish it forever.
The best tour you could ask for. Our tour guide was passionate, knowledgeable, personable and oh so thoughtful and kind. The sites we stopped at were terrific with enough time to explore after our guides explanation. He provided so much fun and the group of 8 were so happy with the entire day. Over the years we have gone on a number of tours, but this young man stood out above all others.
This is a great way to get from Riga to Vilnius! Our guides, Anna and Laurynas, did an amazing job. They were friendly. personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking this tour out if you are traveling thru the Baltic's.
Our guide was delightful! We would have been fine with more music in the van for the long ride. The sights are beautiful and it was nice to get out and walk around.
Adam was safe-driving, interesting in his explications, open to questions and suggestions, and well in time for the arrival
Very interesting tour with a nice guide. I recommend !
The group got a good insight into the history of the two countries .Twelve hours well spent saw plenty. The trip was good for me as I am deaf so seeing is the best way to experience the countries. My guide was understanding of my problem .
Perfect way to travel from Riga to Vilnius with multiple stops in between to go to places in the middle of no where / without easy access with public transport. Our guide Alina was super fun and informative about everything.
The perfect way to get from Riga to Tallinn. Laura, from Vilnius, was an energetic and informative guide, keeping it fun at the same time. She seemed to be having a good time and that made us have a good time as well.
We saw everything we wanted to see. We had 8 tourists in a 9 passenger van. It was great. Another van with 8 more was with another driver and van from same company. Our guide was excellent. He was from Lithuania and spoke excellent English. He drove carefully as well. It would be nice to spend a little more time at some places, but if you did you’d get into Vilnius even later than 9:15, like we did. If it left at 8:00am, you’d miss the museam at Salispils. In the end, it was the perfect tour. We saw what we wanted to see. We got from Riga to Vilnius. And, the value of the trip was very good. I seriously recommend it.
The trip itself was very interesting, but Laura with her gags and her simpathy added something more. PERRRFETTO!!
It’s great to combine sightseeing with getting me from Riga to Tallinn
We had a fantastic time from Riga to Tallinn having asp done the Villnius to Riga tour. Riga to Tallinn was a bit more relaxed, loved the forest cliffs! Great restaurant pick in a hunting lodge hotel. I’d highly recommend these one-way tours! Marju recommended five places in Tallinn - we made it to four. Thanks for the awesome Tips!!!
This is probably the best way of getting from Riga to Tallinn. Andres is s great guide and freely shares his knowledge along the way.
Places were intersting, guides were smart and professional at the same time. An excellent way to travel. Highly recommended!
She is nice and very good!!
She is very nice and smile...beautiful trip!!
Awesome tour that was well worth the money. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She also dropped us off at our hotels which was very nice of her. Thank you!
A great day with Andese our guide, just the right mix of travel, sightseeing and history. He also picked a great place to stop for lunch. This is such a brilliant way to travel from A to B while also enjoying sights you probably wouldn't usually see along the way.
Well worth the time and cost
We had an amazing trip from Riga to Tallinn with Laura from Lithuania. Saw and learnt so much more than we would have done by direct bus - with a great Baltic host!
Very pleasend experience with a good guide. Visited interesting places in the countryside
While this leg offers a little less than the Tallinn-Riga leg in terms of the itinerary, Mike was an amazing guide and made the trip super enjoyable through his stories of the Latvian culture. We had nice conversations about our mutual traditions, cultures, people - way off the playbooks if I might add - which gave the trip a warm little touch. The sightseeing tour is a great way to visit places that don't usually fall on people's itineraries, as well as a great way to relate to the histories of both the states.
We are a couple with a small kid and have joined the private tour from Tallinn to Sigulda. Our guide, Trinn, is a very attentive person and had taken care all the need of us, especially for the kid. We have visited the recommended spots to feel the natural environment of Estonia and Lativa. She has also explained a lot the history and society of Estonia which let us have a more clear understanding of the region. We do have plenty of chatting on whatever we are interested and have enjoyed a great day. She had also shared her childhood life which made us fond of the living here and we especially thanks for telling us to pick the natural blueberries. We do recommend to join the tour to see and feel the Baltic area.
A perfect way to go from Riga to Vilnius and seeing many interesting sites you wouldn't see without a private car. 5 stops, max 8 people, a comfortable bus and a guide for 12 hours for 55 euros is really a good offer. Our guide Adam was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Really a good choice!
It was fantastic. Lau, our guide is very friendly.
It was an excellent way of travelling from Riga to Vilnius with this tour rather than taking a direct transfer. Our guide Laura was exceptional! She provided high quality information about the region in a very entertaining and energetic way. She has also created a very warm and friendly environment for all tour participants. I would recommend this tour to anybody who would like not to miss the nice spots between these two cities.
The locations we visited were far from the main cities and would have probably been missed if it wasn't for this tour. the stops not only contained a beautiful scenery, but also great stories that will let you get a deep insight into the country, especially with a guide so enthusiastic and proud of her culture.
We were planning a trip that would include Riga and Tallinn, and I have run into your ad proposing to get from Riga to Tallinn by a bus tour. We decided to try it, but had some doubts. In particular, we were not sure we would survive 12 hours on a bus. In the end we enjoyed the trip very much. Triin the guide/driver was very professional, very knowledgeable and with a good sense of humor. We visited beautiful Latvian and Estonian countryside, which we would never seen otherwise, and the time passed very fast.
We had a fantastic day out with the added bonus of getting to our final destination (Vilnius). The 5 stops are very interesting and Karolis, our guide was very knowledgable about both countries - his passion is Lithuania though ;) He pointed out interesting things on the way and we had the added bonus that he is a biologist who knows much about the flora and fauna. The small group suited us perfectly and we had fun!! I can recommend Karolis - safe driver and a fun guide.
It was a good change to go to Tallinn from Riga visiting interesting places in Latvia and Estonia. The lunch was great in a lovely place and our guide was very nice. The only dissapointing thing was the Military Museum because our guide spent too much time there and making political matters.
My husband and I travelled from Riga to Vilnius with sightseeing bus and our guide was Laura. We mostly travel without a group but we did not want to drive or use bus and see a bit more on Latvia and Lithuania. We got more than we expected. Laura answered all our questions on both countries. We had a nice lunch on our way. We had fantastic time, and what is more insider tips of Vilnius. I got this tour via internet and they were true proffessionals on time and well informed. The tour from Tallinn to Riga was full 20 days ago. Be sure to book well in advance. Thank you again Laura for this incredible trip.
The tour was really nice. I learnt a lot about the country and the culture. The tour guide was lovely.
Very good, helpful & knowledgeable guide, very interesting sightseeing stops. Good lunch break, arrived in Tallinn in good time.
We were a group of seven people from Italy and we had a wonderful time with our guide. Our guide picked us up perfectly in time and she was very kind, funny and professional. She guided us through Lettonia and Estonia giving us very interesting information about the places and life style. She was ready to answer all of our questions and we had very interesting conversation during the driving. All the place we visited were interesting and beautiful and I think this is the best way to reach Tallin from Riga. I strongly recommend this tour and Liine as a guide in particular.
I enjoyed this tour from Riga to Tallinn. The only negative was the weather, which is obviously beyond your control (it rained at times during the day). The stops were interesting, and I enjoyed talking to Karolis (the guide) and the other travellers. Karolis did a great job as guide, with his knowledge of the sites, and was also a careful driver.
Laura is such a fun tour guide! Her great personality truly made the tour extra special! She was engaging and her information made the history of Latvia and Lithuania come alive. We (my daughter and I) highly recommend these tours for the Baltic’s as this was our second time traveling with them and we had a wonderful experience both times. They really know how to pick warm-hearted and energetic guides! So happy to have met Laura!
The tour was so good! Even with the rain trying to stop us, far better than 4 boring hours in a bus watching series. I really enjoyed all the places. Anna is such a nice person, I really enjoyed sharing music and life’s experiences during the rides. Totally recommend !
Our guide Laurynas was perfect : he’s genuinely a good person who is dedicated to his work and very competent. People who were with me were very nice as well. I finally came back to Trakai by myself (it’s only 2 euros by bus from Vilnius) just to swim in the lake and it was lovely. So if Laurynas invites you to do it at the end of the trip, don’t hesitate, I definitely support you to do it in case you won’t have time to go back later. I was to shy and I regret it. Good luck to our guide in his future and all the people I shared this tour with.
I found this an exciting way to travel between Riga and Vilnius, it is a long day, but an adventurous alternative to a standard bus trip between cities! It's also an opportunity to cover multiple sights in one day, that you may otherwise need to visit on individual day trips from your base once there. Our guide was very energetic and engaging, passionate about the history behind these countries and the sights we visited, full of interesting stories and anecdotes which add to the experience! There were plenty of stops along the way, so you never feel as though you're stuck in the car for very long, and a lunch break too which was a late change due to the first choices being booked, but a great authentic restaurant in a beautiful countryside setting.
We really did enjoy that trip, our guide was lovely and as we were seating next to him we talked a lot about the countries and the culture. We loved the walk in the national park and the two cities of Cesis and Viljandi, we could have stayed there longer. The military museum was less interesting for us.
This tour was one of the best parts of my holiday. Great sights on the way from Riga to Vilnius, fantastic guide, learned lots, and the others in the group were great fun. Special thanks to our guide Laurynas - you made us laugh so much whilst also teaching us so much. Thank you! Highly recommended.
A nice option to reach Tallinn from Riga seeing beautiful places around Latvia and Estonia. Curious stories and a adventurous travel with people of different countries. Thank you!
Great way to travel from Latvia to Estonia. Nice small group of people, comfortable transport but above all a friendly, funny, knowledgable and caring guide. Jaan was always happy to help and answer any question. Definitely recommend it
This tour was an incredible way to see sites outside the capital cities and learn more about the culture and history from a local guide. Speaking of, Laura was AWESOME! She is super passionate about the region and was a joy to spend the day with. The sites were all unique, and I’m very glad that the tour made it simple and enjoyable to visit all of these great places. I highly recommend this tour!
The tour from Riga to Vilnius was simply superb. Our guide Karolis was very knowledgeable and interpersonal and we were very happy with his company. Thank you, Karolis!
Wow we had a great time- we really enjoy our tour bus trip! The guide was excellent and made the trip a memorable experience - he was knowledgeable, funny and genuinely friendly guy. The drive was long but he made it fun. We have seen some really beautiful sights and fell in love in the Baltic history and culture. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and we are really happy we booked it:) and based on that experience we hopefully book again!
We spent a brilliant, fantastic day with Mike on our tour from Riga to Tallin, thank you Mike!! I recommend this trip for all the people who wants to travel this way: Riga to Tallin or back, enjoying the countryside and getting historically true/ real /interesting /rich information. We would happily repeat and repeat....
The best way to travel from here to there. My Lithuanian friends were very impressed with all that we had seen and done. A great introduction to Latvia and Lithuania with a fun commentary by our guide Laura
If you are going from Riga to Tallinn this sightseeing bus is the best option to learn about Latvian and Estonian contryside
My partner and I were sick of flying between cities on our trip to the Baltics so we decided to try this tour. I was worried I'd be stuck in a boring car all day wishing I had flown but I was pleasantly surprised :) The tour is a full day but the distance between stops is really well thought out and you don't feel like you have ever been stuck in the car too long. All stops were interesting and it was nice to see some of the countryside. There was a toilet at every stop and the longest time spent in the car was 2 hours at the end coming into Tallin. Our guide Katlin was awesome! A really lovely young lady who had an amazing knowledge of the history of the area, every question we asked her she was more than happy to answer honestly and she really knew her stuff. She gave great recommendations on places to eat in Tallinn and was super laid back. While the rest of the group slept in the back of the van she chatted with us up the front and made the trip very enjoyable. I can highly recommended her and the trip from Riga to Tallin. Thanks Katlin
I'm not usually too into these kind of sightseeing tours, but this was well worth the money. The visits were very interesting and Katlin our guide was very friendly and gave great information about all the places we went. Can highly recommend!
The tour was really interesting because we visited monuments and places off the beaten track like Sigulda and the military museum in Valga. The guide Kati was so nice and interested in getting to know all of us, we had a really good time. In addition to that, thanks to Kati again, I learnt much about Latvia and Estonia.
First of all, our guide Laura was this energetic and enthusiastic girl, always concerned about all the passengers' needs. Then, she really could transmit her pride to be both Lithuanian and a citizen of the Baltic. The spots we visited showed us some of the history and architecture of Latvia and Lithuania. On the bus, everybody loved it. And that includes my 9-year-old daughter.
Very nice tour with interesting stops (hill of crosses) and many facts about the history of Latvia and Lithuania.
Had a lovely transport and sightseeing tour with Kristel from Riga and to Tallinn. She was very knowledgeable, kind and solution oriented, when we were once again struck by the on-and-off showers from above. We saw some great attractions, learned a lot about Estonia and Latvia, and the almost 12 hours just flew by. Great way to get from Tallin to Riga while seeing something along the way - we especially loved travelling on the small roads and watching the fields and countryside.
Wow! This is the way to travel between Riga and Vilnius and see the important sights. Our guide Adam gave us an excellent commentary regarding each of the sights, and filled us in with background material regarding Latvia and Lithuania. It was a long day but excellent value - would highly recommend this tour.
Anna and the other guide are very kind and they told us a lot of the history about Latvia and Lithuania. The places that we have visited are very interesting sites.
We travelled from Vilnius to Riga. We think that this tour was the best choice during our baltic trip! Laura (our guide) was very kind and friendly and gave a lot of information about the visited places. Moreover, she has a great sense of homour, she has a lot of energy and very easy-going! Although the tour was long (12 hours) it was very interesting and we enjoyed every minute! The other passengers were also very nice, friendly and openminded, it was interesting to talk to each other. We recommend this tour everybody who would like to discover the essential of these countries and get unforgetable memories!
Getting from Riga to Vilnius wasn't going to be easy, so my partner and I decided we may as well book a tour and see some sights on the way! It really is good value for money, as you stop and visit the Salaspils Memorial, Rundāle Palace, Hill of Crosses, Kaunas and Trakai, all whilst getting to your destination. Our guide, (I think it was Kristel, she had red hair!) was very friendly and just like all the other Traveller guides, very knowledgeable and passionate about history.
Super nice tour guide, very friendly. Great way to see the south of Latvia and north of Lithuania without going through the hassle of renting a car and everything. I would just say that maybe give a little more time to take pictures and walk around would be a plus but apart from that really great tour
Our wonderful guide, Laurynas, made the day memorable, fun and informative. He provided helpful information at each stop and answered questions fully. He has a passion for Baltic history and pride in his native country of Lithuania. At the very beginning, he had each of us introduce ourselves -- which helped him learn our names and also helped us learn the names of our fellow travelers. We appreciated his candy treats, humor and constant attention to making sure that everyone was doing well and enjoying the day. After he discovered that we all liked music, he took requests during lunch and downloaded songs for the next part of the drive. What a memorable trip singing along with new friends to our favorite songs! Once in Vilnius, he made sure we all reached our lodging places without worry. Laurynus is one of the best guides I've experienced, and I've been fortunate to travel to many countries and places across the United States. He's a keeper!
What made this travel wonderful was the great talent of Laura as a driver and guide. She has everything planned in the right measure and make us feel as guests.
This was the second trip I took with this company. My tour guide was Laura. Despite her age, she was incredibly professional and very informative. surely being a history student helped. she did exactly what she was supposed to do. She was responsible, considerate and kind. The day was long. 12 hours. so many places to see and to do. unfortunately, we had very little time in places we stopped particularly in Viljandi and Cecis towns but as I said it is a long trip and I can totally understand the rush. The lunch stop was well chosen. The food was great (though more expensive than the one we had in Vilnius-Riga tour). I would strongly recommend this tour to anybody who is doing the Baltic tour. Thank you, Laura. you are a star!
This is such a great trip. Laura was a brilliant guide, she put 100% in all day and we learned so much about Latvian and Estonian history. Her knowledge about all aspects of Estonia was impressive and she coped with loads of "interesting" questions from a couple of our fellow travelers! We saw parts of the 2 counties that we would never have seen on a normal coach and especially enjoyed the short trek in the forest. Lunch was very good and, as we had pre-orded, served with the minimum of fuss and waiting time. On a seperate note, we would like to acknowledge the help from Heleene in the office as we managed to confuse the dates for our bookings and it took a few emails to make sure that it was all sorted. All in all, I can thoroughly recommend the company and the tour.
This trip gave us the possibility to learn new places of Latvia and Estonia, mostly not described in your typical guidebook. Our guide Kamile is a very friendly and enthusiastic person, who gave us very good instructional and sometimes funny explanations of the monuments and places.
I liked the stops along the way, But maybe we should be given the option to actually use the bobsled as opposed to just visit the track. Cesis town was my favorite. Our tour guide was flexible and caring. He drove carefully and attentive. The only think I would change is the choice of restaurant for lunch. It was not an authentic restaurant but a hotel restaurant which to me doesn’t align with the feel of the trip. Everyone that was taking this tour in our van were experienced travelers looking for cool experiences. I think a more traditional place will be more appreciated. A special thank you to our tour guide which showed us “city people” how to pick blueberries! I never tasted any blueberries as good as those. I think we all felt it was super awesome to do. We looked like little kids picking and eating blueberries from the shrubs. :-)
Lau was one of the most engaging, attentive, and hilarious tour guides we've ever had! Like the other tours with this company, he made the Riga to Vilnius trip lively with personalized stories, but what sets him apart are the treats (several local candies and pastries) and dropping us off to our hotels/AirBnB. He also noticed that one tire was low in air, which he quickly discovered was a flat. He found a local auto mechanic, and we were on our way again in 30 minutes! This tour is well worth the extra time and money.
Well to be honest there was only one misadventure which turned the trip in to and even better one, considering the circumstances. Lao (that's how it sounded and I saw another reviewer spell his name this way) was amazing. SUPER knowledgeable of the sights and areas we went to. Even if he wasn't telling us true stories (which i'm sure he was, because who doesnt believe Americans were the first people to settle in Riga) he told his stories with conviction, which is all i needed. No fake news here. Keep in mind this was a VERY HOT day, so he always made sure we stayed hydrated. Sadly when we were about to leave Kaunas, he did discover the van running low on air pressure and when we went to fill it up, the air didn't hold. BUT, Lao immediately got on the phone and started searching for repair shops and thankfully he found one just a couple blocks away. At the shop we all waited patiently as the tire was getting repaired (30min) which gave the tour group some bonding time. Which was good fun getting to know everyone's story. We had 2 Swedish doctors looking for the New Viagra, 2 teachers from the Netherlands just trying to escape their students, a mother and daughter from Taiwan who were probably on a bonding spirit quest, a young lady from Singapore who just wanted to do all the fun things forbidden in Singapore and not suffer the consequences of corporal punishment, and then ME, the future president of the United States. =) This delay made our timing to Trakai castle Perfect for sunset. Which was one of the bonuses. Also because of the delay, Lao treated us to a traditional Lithuanian....food thing, not sure what it was called but after i ate the first one i ordered 4 more. Also on the way back, since none of us had to be back at any particular time, we took a quick trip to the Hill of Angles, Amazing sight. And of course finally, Lao dropped all of us off at our respective sleeping locations...ohh yeah and we also got chocolates. Good people are hard to find these days. The group i was with seemed like all good people. Great people are even harder to find, and Loa is one of them. Highly recommend this trip, and any of the other Baltic trips this company has to offer. And if you get a chance to have Lao as your driver, you'll be in for most informative, adventurous journey, with treats. =) -Leo
Our sightseeing tour with Andres was very well organised and plenty of interesting stops. Andres is a prepaid guide. His knowledge and anecdotes made it a memorable day and let us to learn a lot. Thank you!
I loved this tour. I'm back in Canada a couple of weeks later and the tour is still quite vivid for me. The sites were interesting and the guide was informative. We had a family of five with small children and the guide was always solicitous of their comfort and helped the parents with handling the gear that their infants needed. To cap it all off, at the end of the tour he drove them right to their hotel in Vilnius so that they would have to worry about trying to find it on their own in a strange city with small children. Great job!
Although some of the stops are a little bit random (the museum is strange and none of the exhibits are in English), this is a great tour made even better by a brilliant, funny tour guide. The fact that there were only 4 of us on the bus made the day even better.
I took both the Tallinn-Riga and now the Riga-Vilnius tour, and they were both excellent! Mikelis was a terrific guide and a safe driver. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history of the Baltic States. The 12 hours fly by with wondeful stops and great stories. I highly recommend this experience!
Took this tour from Riga to Vilnius. I highly recommend this tour if you are traveling to Vilnius (or opposite direction). All of the sites we saw were great. I have to say that we didn't get enough time at some places, and maybe a little too much in other places, but I think that is just personal preference and the tour is great for getting to see all of the sites, along with places I didn't know about before hand. I would give the tour guide 6 stars if that were possible here!
We had a great time on the trip - it was a very fun way to travel between Riga and Tallinn. We stopped at lots of interesting places, giving a flavour of both countries' history and beautiful scenery. There were plenty of stops for snacks/toilets, and a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. Andres was an excellent tour guide, full of great facts and kept us laughing all the way. 10/10 would recommend
We had a fantastic time on our tour with our knowledgeable and friendly guide Karolis. The sights were unique and interesting (particularly Gauja National Park). Karolis was really knowledgeable about the plants and animals of the region, and we enjoyed getting to learn about local biodiversity. Plus the van was a very comfortable ride!
Would highly recommend these tours and thanks to Laura for an awesome day! I’m so glad I decided to do this - small group, comfy bus, delicious lunch (not included in price but was not too expensive) and getting to see sites I never would have had time to see if I’d just gone straight between Riga and Vilnius! It never felt boring/that we were traveling for too long. Personal favourite - hill of crosses!
This tour was a great way to see the countryside between Riga and Tallinn. Our guide was great; she even gave us some time to swim in a lake along the way. I'd highly recommend this travel option.
Me and my friend took the tour from Riga to Tallinn. There were many great activities on the way, but for us the highlight was the national park. So beautiful! Our tour guide Kamile was so friendly and informative and made the trip super special. She went out of her way to make everyone in the group comfortable. My friend is particularly interested in Baltic history and Kamile shared many fascinating stories with her that totally made her day. Highly recommended!
Lots of interesting stops and a comfortable drive make this a great way to see Latvia and Estonia outside the main cities.
This tour is a fantastic way of learning about the history of both places as well as seeing sights you wouldn’t normally be able to see. Highlights included the Hill of Crosses, Salaspils Camp and Trakai Castle. Our guide was fantastic - he made sure that everyone was comfortable at all times, was very engaging when talking about each sight and the history of the countries and also snuck in some personal touches like the incredible pastries we bought near the castle! I would definitely recommend this as the best way of travelling between the two cities!
This 12 hour bus tour is professionally planned and executed, starting and finishing on time, with no feeling of being rushed. The 5 places we stopped at are carefully selected to give a mixture of castle garden, history, religion, the soviet period, and a beautiful town and castle by the lakes. The guide and driver (nick named Lao as we probably would spell his proper name wrong) is knowledgeable and entertaining, as well as a safe driver. The van is clean and super comfortable, with air cond a relief from this summer's heat wave. Lots of room for luggage of 8 guests in the back. Great alternative to flight or train or coach. Highly recommended for its terrific value!!
I found out about this tour in Riga and decided to travel with them to Vilnius. Great way to travel to another city, seeing those sights you would normally miss if you were using public transport. I highly recommend this tour, I am upset I didn't know about it when I was in Tallinn.
The tour was fantastic but the guide made it outstanding. He was fresh ( despite doing the same thing several times a week ) and enthusiastic. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience and even dropped us off individually at our hotels instead of the meeting point. Despite his young age, he was accomplished, funny and creative. The day was so well organized - a treat.
The guide was really good, knowledgeable and a very nice person in general. I had a really lovely, relaxing day of traveling. This tour comes highly recommended. Many thanks to Katrin, also for the food recommendation for Tallinn - it was lovely.
If you move from one capital to the next, we do recommend this daytrip in a small group with highly skilled and very friendly guide and driver. You visit interesting highlights, historical sights, have a good lunch and enjoy the landscape. Suits all. A perfect way to discover the Baltics.
The trip was fun and I learned a lot from our guide.
Interesting places to stop. Social and friendly guide who gave good (2 not too long) history lectures about the places. Highlight of my trip to baltic states.
This was a great way to learn and see that Latvia and Lithuania are more than the two capitals. Lau was a great guide; enthusiastic, personable, and knowledgeable. Even though we were running a late, he didn’t rush us through all the things he wanted to show us. Despite the late hour, he took us to our hotels in Vilnius too. Great service!
Very nice guide (Kamile), well prepared and full of energy. Highly recommend!
Really quite brilliant experience on this tour - coming from the UK I hold my hands up and admit I knew little about the Baltic nations and it was a brilliant insight into the nature, history and culture of the area. The guide Kamile was lovely and very informative, took very good care of us catering for anything we needed! We travelled alongside a group of friends from Luxembourg and a family from Romania which was also great for meeting new people and we had chances to share experiences over lunch and whilst exploring the beautiful and interesting locations we visited. So much learnt, so much to admire - for the price it is so worth the experience, the 12 hour journey passed by and it was a shame to have to end it!
The tour is a great chance to get to know locations he wouldn´t have seen otherwise. It was touching to visit Salaspils Memorial and to hear the heartbeat. It was nice to see the storks on the roofs of Rundale palace, impressive to count the thousands of crosses in Siauliai, interesting to walk through the streets of Kaunas. The highlight was Trakai castle and the Karaites´ houses and Kibinai! Thank you, Lau for this great day!
Lovely animated guide who enjoys her job, good food and interesting sights. Very recommended
The tour is quite intense (12 hours - most of the objectives are not exactly on the main road) and it’s fully worth doing it. Alina is a great guide, who provided lots of interesting facts and useful tips (she also drives very safely). We enjoyed esp. the Trakai area where we returned for a full day experience.
Jaan created a great experience. At first we did not know what to expect. But after a few minutes we laughed and had fun already in the early morning. Jaan made us enthusiastic about both the Latvian as well as the Estonion history and culture. Jaan served us well and was flexible in accepting our requests. Beer, history and culture: wow!
Absolutely enjoyable trip, discovering beautiful sites, learning about culture and traditions; I recommend it 100%, for friends or family trips. Our guide Katrin made a difference, her knowledge and explanations were outstanding!!
Laura was an amazing tour guide. She had so much energy and passion for the sites and Lithuania. it made our tour even more exciting and engaging. We were able to ask any questions and she was very informative about the sites. The sites were great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Laura even gave us a private audition for her upcoming stardom at Eurovision!
We took the tour from Riga to Vilnius. While we would have preferred a bit more of free time to explore Kaunas and Trakai, Lau, the guide, was so knowledgeable, so entertaining and nice that it was absolutely worth joining the tour! We learnt a lot and enjoyed Lau's sense of humour. Highly recommendable.
Definitely worth taking the tour! AlIna took us through the otherwise difficult to reach towns and was very informative!!
The best way to travel through the Baltics and see more than only the capitals. Alina was a great guide! She told a lot of information and was good fun to spend the day with. In hindsight, we should have done the Tallinn-Riga your as well...
Stopped at enough places to make the trip interesting. Lunch at the hunting lodge was delish
Tour was relaxing fun and educational
Very friendly guide who told us interesting stories, familiar atmosphere (small group), it was a perfect day. Recommended to everyone who wants to make the journey from Riga to Tallinn unforgetable.
Zero hassle way of travelling between two great cities, with stops along the way at locations I would never have found otherwise. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the sights were amazing. Would definitely recommend.
We had a great time on our tour. Alina was an amazing guide. So many beautiful and thought provoking places to visit. We had the right mix of explanation and free time.
I really liked that we were able to see multiple cities, but I wish we had more free time to explore (even just 15 to 20 minutes). Everything was a bit too rigid. I really wanted to spend more time in Gauja National Park and in Viljandi. The tour was still good though and if you want to see more cities, it is definitely worth it. I was really thankful that the guide dropped us off at our hotel too!
This tour is a convenient way to get from one city to the next and learn/see some things along the way - though it does make for a long day. Our guide, Karolis was very knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. He really knows his nature so he was able to give much more insight during the short hiking portion. I enjoyed most aspects of the tour but I could have passed on the military museum. The history is interesting but the entire museum was in Estonian so besides Karolis’ explanation there wasn’t much to engage with. I would have rather used that time to visit another place or even have a short guided walk at our destination. The other locations are quite nice though - especially Viljandi. All in all, I would recommend the tour - just bring snacks and be prepared for a long day!
Guide was very friendly and had a lot informatins
A good way to see things between Riga and Vilnius you would otherwise have to do as side trips. Our guide Laura, was great. A bubbly personality and the ability to provide the background and history of the things we saw without it becoming to dry. A pleasure to spend the day with her.
The tour was super great, We stopped at the most important sites between Riga and Vilnius, saving time and trouble. We were only 8 people in the group, which was perfect for this tour, and we had a fantastic guide, Laura, the best guide you can have. Perfect day with great company
We loved the tour from Riga to Tallinn. Beautiful countryside, breathtaking views and a very knowledgeable guide. We choose the private group tour and it was perfect for 4 people(two couples). I would definitely recommend the experience and the history lesson.
We had an amazing day exploring the country side from Riga to Vilnius. Anna our guide knew all the good spots and had amazing knowledge during our chats in the car. Seriously no better way to travel between the two Cities.
This was an enjoyable and extensively informative experience. Our tour guide, Laurynas, made the day particularly fun and productive with his enthusiasm and historical/cultural knowledge. He ensured that everyone's questions were amply answered, provided interesting tips and local insights and brought super energy to the group. I would highly recommend this tour bus!
We did both transfer tours - Tallinn to Riga then Riga to Vilnius. I wish this mode of transfer was available everywhere! It was so nice to see more of the countryside as we moved between cities - it would be impossible to put together these itineraries on our own without a car. Both of the guides were very knowledgeable and professional. The stops were well chosen, the pacing was good, and both tours offered a very nice selection for lunch (additional cost but not expensive). Highly recommend.
A great experience. A very peaceful and kind guide. He gave us a lot of information about plants in the Gauja parc as he is a biologist.
Laura brings 110% of herself to making sure her guests are happy. It works. Our ride from Riga to Vilnius was filled with fascinating stories, beautiful stops, wonderful walks and an awesome lunch. We’d go back to Riga just for the ride!
WeI had the pleasure of spending 11+ hours with wonderful Triin during our Riga to Vilnius tour on 18 July. Because we wanted sightseeing convenience, we opted to book a private tour. In hindsight, we are extremely glad we did and think that the outstanding services Triin provided us were well worth the additional cost. Triin was charming, energetic, flexible, and informative. Overall, we thought the stops included in the Riga-Vilnius tour were well-paced and offered an excellent overview of the key sights between those two fantastic cities. (We must mention that we loved Tallinn as well, given that Triin is Estonian.) Our heartiest thanks to the Triin and her Traveller team for a job well-done!!!
The tour was fantastic, as was our guide! I loved all the stops, especially the national park. Beautiful landscapes and wonderful towns! We even had a little karaoke session on the longer part of the drive through Estonia! We have the perfect tour size and awesome people who made it all a great trip. It was also special to see smaller towns and to get out of the bigger cities!
The tour was a combination of education, hilarity, and fun. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great time.
What a great day, our guide was amazing and kept throwing in little extras the tour shows us places I would hit other known or been able to get to and all told with passion and knowledge. Cannot recommend more
The tour was a great way to see Latvia/Estonia before getting to Tallinn. While it stops in Sigulda, the tour does not include the Bobsleigh so recommend going by train (or car) separately if you want to ride the bob sleigh (only on weekends). I enjoyed the stops along the way, but could have skipped the museum. Mikelis got us into Tallinn at 9 pm as promised. My favorite part was the Gaujas National Park which was beautiful, and Mikelis was very passionate about the park and the plants.
It was an excellent tour, with well planned stops and Anna's joyful personality. The only thing that needed improvement was the meeting place. Address given was a bar and since we arrived early, we could not be sure if we were at the right place. A little bit more descriptive information would have helped tremendously.
If you have the time, don't hesitate to book this trip, it will be an amazing day. It takes about 12 hours to get from Riga to Vilnius, but along the way you get to see a lot of very beautiful places, full of history, some marked with sadness and tears while others with joy and great stories. Lau was an amazing guide, driver and companion. He was funny when he had to, thoughtful and serious when he had to, while all the time he kept sharing with us the troubled yet inspiring history of Latvia and Lithuania. Hats off to him, he was remarkable! All in all, a day to remember from our trip through the Baltics.
If you go to Tallin from Rīga do not hesitate to take this tour. The places we visit were all interesting, each in its own way, and our guide, Laura, was excellent. She was extra nice and told us a lot about the history, society, way people of these countries live.
The tour from Riga to Vilnius was amazing! The guides, Anna and Laurynas, were very gentle and good prepared! Their presence made the tour even more interesting! I recommend this tour!
A very nice way to travel between cities!
What an excellent way to travel to Vilnius and visit the sights not often accessible to tourists. We had a small group of travellers and a passionate and knowledgeable guide. Our guide made history come to life - with her interesting stories and perspectives throughout the day...going the extra mile to be sure we all enjoyed the day.
Alina was a very pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful and fun guide. She exceeded my expectations. I was a bit hesitant to take small group tours such as these but it was a great decision in the end. The travel was very smooth, not rushed, well-explained and well organized. Special thanks to Alina who really showed passion about about her job; meeting other people, showing her lovely country Lithuania, and telling wonderful stories that made the places much more alive and meaningful. The van was a comfortable vehicle and those in the group were nice and fun too. I enjoyed the trip much. I highly recommend this travel company and their lovely guide. It was a great experience at a very affordable price.
We had planned a small tour starting in Riga and finishing in Helsinki before we went back home to Sweden. Instead of just taking the bus from Riga to Tallin we were happy to find a guided tour. Our guide was very good and lively and made the tour to a nice experience. It was also nice to meet some interesting people from other countries since we shared the van with some Canadians and Americans. I absolutely recommend this tour! My favorite stop was in Cēsis.
Initially, I was just going to take an express bus from Riga to Vilnius, but fortunately I stumbled online to this tour. It was fantastic! It was a great value. I had wanted to go to some of these sites and this was the most efficient and cost effective way of seeing them. Adam, our guide, was fantastic. This is definitely a must!
Anna was fantastic. There ended up only myself and another couple which was brilliant. We saw a wide range of sites and it made the travel fun and exciting. We were well taken care of. I also got to play my music the whole way and the lunch was lovely!
If you don’t have a car but you still want to see important spots from Riga to Vilnius this is your tour!
A wonderful way to travel between Riga and Tallinn. Vehicle was comfortable and pick up location easy to find. What made the tour particularly good was the guide - Laura. We were so impressed with her knowledge and manner. She was able to answer questions on so many subjects! Her driving was excellent. A very impressive person!!
Lovely guide - very helpful and knowledgeable!
Laura was awesome and informative. The stops were well timed! Beautiful drive and we liked everything.
We didn’t know what to expect out of a 12hour tour with total strangers especially in a country where we had great difficulty with communication. Then the tour made the highlight of our stay, the guide Laura was perfect in creating a lively atmosphere throughout and caring for all our needs. The scenery and the places visited were amazing... highly recommended!
Go with the flow
We spent almost 12 hours discovering some of the most interesting places between Riga and Tallinn, enjoying the tales of our guide. Normally this kind of tours has tight rhythms, but this time I felt it relaxed and relaxing, so it was particularly pleasant. Thanks to our friendly guide and to her sociable attitude I learned many things.
The travel was good. Thank you Alex.
Kätlin was a great guide and driver. She told us about the history, geography and culture of Latvia and Estonia in a humorous way.
I booked this tour primarily to get from Riga to Vilnius. However, the tour turned out to be the highlight of our stay in the area. Laura was so enthusiastic and knowledgable. The places we stopped were ones we would never have known about, nor stopped otherwise. What an enriching and wonderful experience. I highly recommend
We had a great time travelling with our guide, we saw lots of different and fantastic places, Now we have more knowledge about the history of latvia and lithuania, thank you for all !
The points of interest along the way we’re well chosen, with a good time span. Lunch was yum. Our guide/driver was a delight.
An excellent way to travel between Riga and Vilnius. The stops were all the key must sees. I went to the Information Center in Vilnius looking for a day trip. All the recommended day trips were stops on the Riga - Vilnius Sightseeing Tour Bus. Our tour guide was energetic, informative and fun! I would highly recommend this tour.
A excellent way to travel between Riga and Tallinn and see the countryside. I enjoyed the stops. The guides were very informative but would have preferred less time at military museum and more time at Cesis.
Lau was very engaging. He knew his stuff and we learnt a lot about Lithuania and Latvia. Can't praise him enough. Having local guides share their own insights makes these Tours wonderful. We had Anna for the previous one and she was also doing this trip with us in another vehicle. They both are amazing. They had their areas of specialty with one being Lithuanian and the other Latvian. The tours enabled us to see places we wouldn't have been able to see if we had just caught the regular bus. A two in one experience, getting from A to B and sightseeing too. I'll recommend you to anyone I know heading this way.
Took the tour on June 22nd and It was a very good way to explore the area, mostly because I didn't have the time to explore the places by myself. The other travelers in my tour were great and the guide was also very knowledgeable ( I think it was Jaan). I asked to be dropped off half of the way to catch a bus to Tartu and they manged pretty well my special request. It was really worth it. Highly recommended.
An easy and fun way to get from A to B without missing everything in between. Guide was friendly, funny and a great storyteller - we learnt a lot about the history and culture of both Latvia and Lithuania.
I've done so many tours while traveling but so far this one [Riga-Valnius] was the best, mainly thanks to our wonderful, enthusiast and experienced guides, Anna & Laurynas. The two of them made a long day go by quickly and enjoyable. They took us to various memorable/historic places, explained at depth the significance of each place we stopped during the trip and more. I really enjoyed the day and I'm so glad I chose to do the tour instead of taking a bus to Vilnius as I had already planned. Thank you again, Anna & Laurynas, you guys rock!
This tour shows you a lot on what would be a dull journey by an ordinary bus on main roads. In Latvia you get the novelty of the former Soviet bobsleigh track, which is still in use, quaint small town life at Cesis and a quiet forest by a river beach in a nerdy national park. On the Estonian side there is a museum telling the history of the 20th century from a distinctly Estonian perspective and a ruined caste at Viljandi completely with a giant swing that all ages can play on. Our guide was very friendly and informative
The tour was well organised, the guide very friendly and helpfull. We had different nice stops (museum, nature, town, castle, bobslee)
This is a great way to go from Riga to Vilnius while visiting around. Everything is well organized, on time, and well set up. Our guide Laura was amazing, she is passionate, devoted and funny. We learned that Lithuania is the best country and Gediminac the best grand duke. Laura made our trip special, despite the bad weather which we were unlucky with. Recommended!
Our guide was Karolis who we also had on tour from Tallinn to Riga so knew we would be well looked after and he would be informative about history and culture. We set off promptly with five other travellers from other continents, besides myself and my partner. The others’ lives and backgrounds were very interesting to listen to which made the trip more enjoyable. We stopped at a memorial, then a palatial garden, the previous capital of Lithuania, the Hill of Crosses and finally Trakai Castle early evening. We walked around the exterior of the castle which we accessed crossing bridges as it is surrounded by water. Beautiful place which Karolis knew well. Lunch was at an equestrian centre where we saw horses being ridden. Food was preordered and good quality and reasonably priced. It was a lovely tour and would thoroughly recommend, great guide too.
The transfer from Riga to Tallinn was truly enriched by this tour. Charming historic towns and beautiful nature made for a perfect combination. Highly recommended!
I was amazed how quickly the time went and how soon we were approaching our destination, Tallin. If it is about the journey then this is a good option for you. Great information, quality mini bus and the regular interesting stops get top marks from me.
So this wasn’t the fist time I did a tour with Travellers. I also did the tour from Vilnius to Riga. And I was so lucky to have Kamile for both of the tours. She is a very spontaneous woman who can bring a story very well. In the militairy museum she gold us the emotional story of her grandmother. I never thanked her for that so I hope she will trad this. And I think she will.
It was a fantastic trip. Our guide was great and we saw places that we wouldn’t normally see.
I found this good idea on Trip Advisor: instead of going straigth from Riga to Tallin, make a relaxed trip with a mini bus and enjoy a different prospective of baltic republics. Our guide was Andreas who drives very confortably, tells the history with many accurate details, takes you to a good restaurant without spending too money, is really a smart guide. Me and my daughter enjoyed this trip and in the end hr took us just under our residence in tallin. It' a wonderful idea going with traveller tours between the capitals. Enjoy it!
This is a great tour that takes travellers from Riga to Vilnius by way of all the top sights along the way. During our day with our guide, we learned so much about the history of each place - the Rundale Palace, Holocaust Memorial, historical Kaunas, Hill of Crosses and Trakai Castle. The blend of all the stops and sights was diverse and had something for everyone. By the time we arrived in Vilnius, we already felt acquainted with the country of Lithuania. Thanks for a really memorable day!
Very nice guide. Kept the tour always interesting. She has lots of patience. It is one of the trip we are going to remember for long time.
This whole day trip was the perfect way to get from Riga to Vilnius. Lau went above and beyond to make this trip as informative and pleasant as possible. We got to see many of the great spots on the way as well as try some authentic local treats/cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone who want to get from one city to the other and get to see everything in between. Thank you!
Our guide Karolis is a young and energetic guide. He tried to do his best to make the trip comfortable and interesting. He is very kind and try to explain in details on the tour points. Unfortunately the weather is bad. So I put the overall rating as 4 stars. I believe under good weather condition, the tour will be rated as 5 stars.
Great time and a perfect way to see the sights along the way when traveling from Riga to Vilnius. Karolis was a fun and engaging guide and my fellow travelers were great too. All in all, so much better than just taking the scheduled bus between cities.
We had Anna and Laura as our guides as we joined two tours. Both are young, enthusiastic and passionate about their job and share more about their country with you, which makes the trip worth it. Laura even took us to our hotels as it was raining heavily in Vilnius.
First of all, I want to say that my guides were incredibly entertaining and quite knowledgeable. A Estonian and a Latvian helped give perspective from both sides while also highlighting the shared bond between the Baltic nations. I hate to admit that we all said goodbye rather quickly once we reached Tallinn because everyone seemed tired...in my case I had partied the night before in Riga so staying up was a challenge. I’m very glad I took this specialized tour, made my adventure in the Baltics truly unforgettable and unique. If possible, please pass on my info to both guides. Would love to reconnect. They shocked me at the end of the trip announcing that it was Mick’s first day on the job. Quite a twist. He’s a pro. On LinkedIn: Juan G. Perez On Instagram (pics of the tour): juanygpa I forget my girl guide’s name, the Estonian, my apologies
Perfect experience! Really learned a lot about these two country, the trip was well prepared and scheduled and the food was really impressive!
We liked this tour because it took us to hidden spots we never could have located on our own. Our guide Anna was so knowledgeable and could answer all our questions about Latvia, especially about history! We enjoyed the mix of contemporary culture, abandoned Soviet era buildings and the nature of the sea and the forest in the national parks. Would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to be surprised by many sights that are not too far from Riga!
Your driver/guide tried so hard to deal with passengers who SHOULD have taken the bus. ALL over 60 years. ALL convinced that they were entitled to ignore Lau’s expertise. SO kind of him to ignore their lack of world awareness. Lau knows (and APPRECIATES) Lithuanian history and culture. As he understands his role as a spokesperson for Baltic culture, maybe he can command “Silence” so that the rest of us can learn from his knowledge and LOVE of this beautiful country.
My sister and I opted to take a scenic van tour from Riga to Tallinn instead of flying or a bus, and we are so extremely happy we did! Chamomile and Lara were absolutely fantastic tour guides and we were blown away by how knowledgeable they were on the history of each town we visited. The itinerary allowed us to see the infamous bobsled track, eat lunch on the border of Estonia and Latvia, check out a few small towns rich in history, walk in a national park and try out the large swing activity, which was incredible. I would recommend the tour, and these two tour guides in particular, to everyone as we learned an incredible amount about the Baltic history, saw places we would without a doubt otherwise not see, and get to meet a few new friends along the way!
We're still blown away by the sheer force of nature that is (Estonian) Laura, our wonderful guide for the day. Nothing was too much trouble, she went way beyond the call of duty to make sure we had a great and memorable day. If anyone is considering a trip from Riga to Tallinn this has to be the ONLY way to do it. We can't recommend it enough and Laura, we look forward to hopefully one day making you feel as welcome in the UK as you made us feel in Latvia and Estonia.
It was interesting to visit the different sights and hearing stories about how the places and history came about.
Definitely better than flying!
Our guide Laura (Estonia) was so sweet and engaging. She is also super knowledgeable with her History major background (must have been an ace student). She was eagerly answering all our questions for 9 whole hours non stop, I feel bad for her throat! :× I gained so much knowledge of Estonia by the end of it, that I could answer some of the otber guide's questions and give other tourist interesting facts!
Excellent small group tour which took us to places we didn’t know existed eg the Hill of Angels. Our guide Lau was terrific - Lau gave good, clear summaries of the history and made it fun to listen. Nothing was a problem for Lau - he arranged lunch (including special requests), changed his format to suit, and even found us in our hotel to return glasses we left on the bus after the tour was over - thankyou Lau!! We were apprehensive booking the tour from home before we left but found it to be very professional and on time. Highly recommend this tour as it’s an economical way to see many sights particularly if you have limited time in the area.
Jaan was a fantastic guide who made the journey fun and informative. We saw some interesting sights and learnt a lot of important history about Estonia. I especially liked the museum stop. The museum itself wasn't exceptional but Jaan's narrative on modern Estonia using the exhibits was great. Totally recommended.
My family of 3 LOVED our trip between Riga and Tallinn with Anna. The stops were GREAT and made what could have been a boring travel day into a fun adventure! We never would have found the sites we visited on our own, nor would we have learned as much. The van was comfortable, Anna was kind and knowledgeable, and the restaurant where we are at lunch was excellent. Book this trip; you won’t regret it!
To complete our tour of the Baltics, we of course had to go to quiet Estonia. Our tour guide grew up in Tartu and currently resides in Tallinn so he knew the area very well. There are a couple of stops in Latvia where you get to see the remnants of an old castle. You get to see the sand stone cliffs though beware that this is a hike of climbing stairs so make sure to wear sneakers. Our guide was very nice and provided us with bug spray because of the mosquitoes but the real problem turned out to be the flies that circled your head and never landed which actually led to the 6 o'clock fly story so even that had a positive spin to things. Lunch was just over the Estonian border in the city of two countries (Valka in Latvian and Valga in Estonian) and this was followed by a trip to a military museum where Jaan shared his personal experience in the mandatory defence forces and what it was like to grow up during all of these changing times for Estonia. He also picked out some items to give funny stories to make the museum more light hearted. That part of the trip alone would have earned this tour 5 stars. We then went to see the ruins of a castle and it's three lines of defence and while there, we got to try out the kiik. We definitely didn't go 360 but it was still fun. We got dropped of in Old Town of Tallinn between the information center and freedom square so it was really easy to navigate. Great job Jaan. Sorry Estonia didn't pick the hedgehog as the national animal.
Absolutely one of the highlights of my trip! Laura T and Kamile were very friendly and knowledgeable! Great experience!
Fantastic trip, with amazing stops and an even better guide. I've seen things I would have never seen in my life otherwise, and our guide was clearly knowledgeable and had a good spirit and sense of humor, which made everything worthwhile. I would say the price was just right for the trip. :)
A very smart and useful way to move from Riga to Tallinn. Many interesting places to visit: nature, culture, sport with a great guide!
The trip was amazing! Everything was well organised and you got a chance to go and explore at each location. The guide was great fun and really got to know each member of our group which made the journeys in between much more fun. He was extremely informative but kept things short and simple rather than drowning on. You got a real VIP feeling to every location we visited. The guide knew all the best spots for photos and even the best places to grab a coffee/snack. The locations along the tour are beautiful! You get a full sense of being off the beaten track, seeing things the normal travelers don't! Only negative is sometimes in the old towns you don't really get lots of time to really go and explore, but you are traveling a long distance and guide was very good at time keeping so you get a fair amount of time at each location. Overall, would one hundred present recommend this to anyone that wants to see the beautiful sites that not everyone will! That will leave you with amazing stories to tell!
Overall, a good experience. Jaan was a good guide ... friendly, knowledgeable, excellent English. I would change up some of the itinerary. In particular, I'd skip the bobsled facility in Sigulda (especially in the summer, when there really isn't much to see) and spend more time on the Sietiniezis trail and in Cesis and Vijandi. LIked the lunch stop; in Valga, I would recommend spending less time inside the military museum and allowing time to wander outside among the military vehicles.
We learned so much about the history of the Baltic region and of Estonia, and how the people live. Andres was knowledgeable as well as entertaining. Also, he was a good and careful driver. We enjoyed seeing the countryside, the national park, and the small towns along the way. The bobsled run and the museum were not for us, but some people might like them. As a suggestion, we would rather have had at least some part of the trip along the coast, if such a thing is possible, given the time constraints of the day.
We had a great day with our guide Anna. She was kind and energetic and ready to answer our questions. The stops along the way were varied, so there’s something everyone can enjoy. The lunch was delicious. I took my one year old son on the tour, and both Anna and the company were kind and accommodating. Thank you for a lovely day!
Kristal discussed not just Estonian history but offered a lot of modern cultural and political information that we and our fellow travelers requested. We feel lucky that we got her. She said our hotel was en route so dropped us at the door before proceeding to old town with the other passengers. Thanks Kristal!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip between Latvia and Lithuania. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and engaging. The stops were fantastic (Trakai was so awesome we went back for a day trip!). If you are looking for a way to go from Latvia and Lithuania, this is a great option. The only negative on this trip was the size and condition of the mini-van. The van really only fits 7 people, and we had 8 in our group. Also, the van was not as clean as I would have expected.
What a great way to spend your day traveling from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide took us to fascinating spots and told us about the history and points of interest. A great day!
Alina was waiting with the bus even though we were early, a good sign we thought. The tour was well organised and we enjoyed the visits to different sites. Alina added to our enjoyment and understanding by recounting her family’s Lithuanian and Jewish history. Thoroughly recommended.
I was looking into doing the same tour on my own, when I quicly realized that there aren't a lot of options in public transportation between each town. I am very happy that I booked this tour because I got to see all the important things between Riga and Tallin and got an explanation on top. The staff was very friendly and the food was great.
This is the best Riga to Vilnius tour on the market. Great stopovers at all the major sights along the way and a friendly Lithuanian guide to answer all the questions you ever had (and more). Highly recommend this tour!
Anna was our guide. She told us about the history of Lithuania, showed us Kaunas, Trakai castle. She offered to take us direct to our accommodation in Vilnius which is much appreciated. In all, We enjoyed this day trip. We all recommend this tour to our friends. We offered her free coffee in return and tipped.
Great range of stops and sights. Informative and entertaining tour guide. Everything was magnificent . Best tour guide I've ever had.
Thank you Laurynas, our kind, genuine and most informative leader who guided us successfully from Riga to Vilnius over a 12 hour time frame which allowed stops in six really interesting places. We simply would not have been able to explore the sights independently in a short time frame so are very grateful to the company for a well organised and interesting itinerary which at 55 euros is quite affordable. I have a better appreciation of the struggles and challenges people have faced in the Baltic region and really admire young people like our guide sharing his love and loyalty of his home country. It gives us such hope that the world can be a better place.
Alex, our guide and driver extraordinaire was most knowledgeable and fun to be with.
Triin our guide was brilliant. Extremely knowledgable and very interesting and engaging. She also had a great sense of humour. This tour packs a lot into one day and the time flies by as you travel from one site to the next. It is also very good value for money when you look at day tours to just one site from Vilnius. I have already recommended the tour to others heading to Tallinn/ Riga/ Vilnius this year. Well done to this company, they’ve really got it right👍🏻
Marju was well informed and very informative and entertaining. The trip was inteeesting in terms of content and we had luck with the weather. So, all in all a very nice experience!
My family of 7 booked this tour and we are so glad we did. Our guide Mario (Marju) was so pleasant and well informed. She answered any question we had and made the journey so interesting. We visited some lovely places along the way and even got to go swimming in a river and a lake . The time passed so fast and our guide was a great driver .
Very fun and informative way to travel from Riga to Vilnius. Small groups, friendly fellow-travelers and very nice guide (Alex from Vilnius). We visited all the main sights between Riga and Vilnius, everything exceeded our expectation. Would recommend to everyone!
My wife & I were picked up from our Vilnius hotel on time. Group comprised only 3. Tour guide (Andrea's? ..) was very informative throughout the tour, interesting, amusing, safe driving and telling us of his personal life as a Lithuanian. We were given sufficient 'free time' at sites to explore for ourselves. We were dropped off at our Riga hotel on time at the end of a most enjoyable day. We were so impressed with the tour that we decided to take a similar tour/transfer between Riga & Tallinn. I'm more than happy to recommend a Traveller day tour from Vilnius to Riga to others.
When me and a friend reserved a place on this tour, we expected it to be pretty commercial and impersonal, however a good alternative to taking the standard bus from Riga to Tallinn. However it was one of the highlights of our overall trip, Kert and Jaan gave this tour the personal touch that made the experience relaxed and fun. It felt as though they put as much effort as they could in to making the tour a success, the knowledge that they both had and the personal touches they added were what turned a potentially bland tour in to an utter success. Would thoroughly recommend to anybody wanting to experience the more hidden parts of these two beautiful countries.
We enjoyed our day tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide was Laura and she is such a lovely and bubbly person. We were given alot of information at every stop. The stops were all interesting, We stopped for lunch at this amazing place. The food was good and reasonably priced, while the place itself is so beautiful.
My 66 year old mom and I had a great time. The van was comfortable and interesting sights were included in the tour. The bobsleigh track was not as steep as it looked and my mom who wasn't exactly agile could walk on it. The restaurant served tasty lunch at reasonable price. The sights in Viljandi, Valga, Cēsis, and Sigulda were interesting and so the 12-hour tour did not feel dragged on.
I think this is the best way to tour around Baltic countries Our tour guide was Alex from Vilnius.
This is an excellent way to get from one Baltic city to another and see the sights as well. It was professionally run, well organised and visited interesting spots. The guide, Alex, was knowledgeable and had a lively outgoing personality. The restaurant where we stopped for lunch served up lovely food at a very reasonable price. Overall, really good value for money.
We totally enjoyed the trip, the places visited enroute are must see. The guide was friendly and amazing. We got a good insight about places enroute. Ps. The place that guide took us for lunch enroute was amazing.
(I have also reviewed the Vilnius-Riga tour with similar high marks). We traveled to the Baltics with my elderly father, and to make things easier for him, we looked at more organized tours than we might have on our own. We considered driving, taking the train or a direct bus, but I'm so glad we opted for this small van tour. Very interesting way to see out of the ordinary places with well-informed guides who were very responsive to group interests and questions. This "transit" experience turned out to be one of the highlights of our 17 day trip. Highly recommended!
Laura was our wonderful guide from Riga to Tallinn--she provided us with history, interesting tidbits of info, and funny stories. A great opportunity to see things off the beaten path! We had beautiful weather, enjoyed all the stops, and had a lot of fun along the way.
👍👍👍😄😄😄 Triin, is an excellent guide, very lively and knowlegable, always ready to help and to tell us all we want to know about the 3 Baltic states. We also met Mikus who was jovial and helpful. We had a good time. Thank you very much.
The tour has about 5 stop in latvia and estonia. We liked most the medieval towns, the national park and the restaurant where stopped to eat. And Laura, our guide was fun and made the day very interactive.
The day trip from Riga to Tallinn was really great and fun. We left on time and were a nice group of 8 people. Our guide Laura was nice and funny, told us about the stops and the history and answered every question we had. I usually don't book guided tours, but this one was worth it!
This is an excellent tour to get from Riga to Tallinn, or vice versa. Our guide Liine was fantastic, she was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We highly recommend doing this tour, Liine made it a fun day, with lots of interesting things to see and enjoy. First class Liine!!!
The only way to get from Riga to Tallinn. Great tour guide. Thanks Liine.
My wife and I recently took a tour from Riga to Vilnius and enjoyed the experience. I liked the locations chosen for the tour, and the 6 hour ride was broken up nicely into manageable pieces, where a typical Riga to Vilnius trip might have been less pleasant. Our tour guide was quite new and could have been a bit more engaging during the driving portions of the trip, but I'm sure that will come with time.
Our guide Marju was great - nice, interesting, informative and able to answer any question she was asked, but didn't hold forth unnecessarily between stops. We had a nice small group (and I was lucky with my travel companions too) and the stops were well spaced, never too long in the minibus. Very glad I decided to do the trip and would recommend it to anyone who wants to see a bit of both countries but doesn't have much time to spare.
I was quite happy to have chosen this tour as I cannot drive in Europe. Our tour guides Laura and Triin were extremely friendly and made sure to have a dynamic environment in the van by continuously cracking some Baltic jokes . Laura is not only an excellent driver but an excellent singer as well, she sang us a beautiful lullaby. She was driving whole day and simultaneously explaining us the history about different places. So much energy ! Hope my review gets her a raise ;) You don't get to spend enough time on various places but you get enough time to get a feel and pics of these places. Obviously you can't spend too much time at one place on a day trip. The tour cost was reasonable in my humble opinion. Long story short, go ahead and book this trip. You won't regret it.
Good value of money to travel from Riga to Tallinn, fun and comfortable. Linee is our guide, she is very outgoing, nice and passionate. We do enjoy listening to her stories through out the journey.
Great way to travel between Riga and Tallinn. The tour provides an opportunity to see the countryside and to learn about the region. Our guide was fantastic - provided lots of information and was happy to answer all of our questions. Would definitely recommend.
The trip was excellent. Brilliant way to travel between cities Riga and Vilnius, stopping at key landmarks, castles and absorbing history en route with personal insights and experiences from guide. Fresh and enthusiastic like a good ‘road trip’ with someone else looking after directions and parking.
We were four travelers and Triin and became friends by the end. She was great in informing us of the different places we visited along with a great stop for lunch. We visited the Palace that the mini-series War & Peace was filmed, then my favorite, the Hill of Crosses. What a mind-boggling site of so many crosses in one place. The lunch stop was fantastic. Then the stop at the former capital of Lithuania and Triin was good in providing a quick summary of the history. I had a quick coffee and chocolates at the Chocolateria. Then the castle on the lake. I can’t remember all the names of the places but I do remember what I see and what I felt. Thanks to Triin for a wonderful road trip.
The trip was brilliant and our guide (Kätlin) was superb - fun, engaging knowledgable and with faultless English.
My friends and I were travelling from Riga to Vilnius so we decided to use the tour. It was definitely one of the best decisions we made. We managed to get to places that we wouldn't have gone on our own. Those were interesting places. Our guide, Laura, was fantastic! She was full of energy, caring and gave her best to the tour. She was a star! The tour was definitely worth the time and money !
Highly recommended tour. Our transfer from one country to another became more interesting. Excellent way of transfer instead of just a boring ride in a bus. We're able to see villages and towns along our way. We appreciated more the countries and learned more about their cultures. Our tour guide Kalev was really good and was kind enough to drop us in our hotel after a long trip since it's far from the old town/city centre. Would definitely recommend this tour to our family and friends.
So the arrangement of the ticket can be better at least an online pdf etc a proof that we bought something ;) but the guide was friendly and talkative also the places we visited were nice. It is a small van which makes it also agile. All in all I had good time and it was worth it.
What a fantastic way of getting from A to B. I would highly recommend taking the journey between cities. It’s far more interesting that sitting on a train, plane or direct bus. You get to see the REAL country.
Overall experience was fantastic - what a great way to travel between two places and fit a bit more into your trip. Our tour guide Kätlin was amazing, she was incredibly knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour - throwing in hilarious little bits of information here and there along with all the great historical facts. Couldn’t rate her highly enough! She went out of the way to make sure everyone was having a good time and involved everyone. The places we stopped were also great - lunch was really tasty. There didn’t seem to be too many stops or too few, just perfect. Loved the National Park and the swings (my favourite). Thanks very much!
We had a great trip with our guide who was incredibly informative, friendly and really made the tour. This is a great way to see both Latvia and Estonia from a different perspective and the history and local knowledge that our guide provided was fantastic. The stops were really varied and we were thankful to have seen some unique sights along the way. Thank you again for a great day trip and we would recommend this to anyone doing the journey from Riga to Tallinn or vice versa.
It was a well planned and well executed trip
We took the traveller tours bus from Riga to Tallinn. It was the best choice! We had an amazing trip with lots of nice stops at different spots which were all really worth it to see! Thanks to Traveller Tours and especially to Kert who made this experience possible :) he also was very funny, we could ask questions whenever we wanted to. In general it was just very nice to have a talk with him. We definitely would choose this option to travel from Riga to Tallinn again!
We booked a private tour from Riga to Tallinn. Right on time our guide Andres arrived at our hotel. Andres is extremely knowledgeable and has a vibrant personality that made the day spent with him a real pleasure. Despite freezing temperatures and snow we covered all the wonderful sights on our itinerary before the early dark of winter descended. The day was the highlight of our European trip.
This tour was well worth the time. As newcomers to Eastern Europe, my friend and I were very excited at every stop of this tour. Each site was unique and interesting, and there was a nice blend of nature, history, and fun attractions. My favorite part of the tour was the National Park, but all had different strengths. Our tour guide, Kert, was very knowledgeable and fun, and I would definitely take another tour with the company!
Andres is an accommodative, friendly and caring guide. We went to the bob sledding track to see and understand the sport. Fauna’s National park. The local cosy homey cafe for lunch. Cesis town. Viljandi town and head to Tallinn. You are able to see and visit places that you don't know and have difficult to get to. Andres even took us to our hostel to save us the time. I really liked this tour and feel so happy it took it.
An excellent day with a knowledgeable and funny guide. Highly recommended! If you’re going from Riga to Tallinn or viceversa it’s a must!
Just a great tour not to mention an informative and traveler-smart way to get between Riga and Vilnius. We saw so many things and just had a wonderful time. Kert was awesome!! It doesn‘t get better than a great tour with a great guide. We really recommend it!
I went with three other friends and we booked the Tallinn-Riga and the Riga-Vilnus tours with this company and it was incredible! 2 fantastic days with amazing and fun guides. If you are travelling through the Baltic states I cannot recommend this enough. It really gives you an insight into the three countries.
I took two different tours with these folks in August 2017, the Riga-Tallinn tour bus and the Laheema national park tour. Both were so reasonably priced, I was amazed how much bang I got for my buck. I absolutely recommend it. The free walking tour was also excellent.
We took the 12 hour trips between Tallinn and Riga and then between Riga and Vilnius. Both days were enjoyable and informative with excellent guides Olga and Triin. Whether stopping at historic castles, nature parks, monuments and museums, or even for lunch, our guides enthusiastically shared local folklore, personal stories, and knowledge of the Baltics. Seeing a little more of the Baltic countries outside of the capitals was a refreshing change as it is mostly gorgeous countryside with farms, forests, wildflowers, and storks! Don't look at any other tour operator because with Traveller Tours you've found the best!
Amazing. Highly recommended. This is a one way trip on a minibus, takes all day and includes major sights along the way. Absolutely the very best way to travel from Riga to Tallinn. Great fun, passionate and experienced and knowledgeable guide, brilliant sights. This sightseeing tour allows you to see things along the trip which would be much more complicated and time-consuming to set up from either end. Where else would you see a Soviet bobsleigh track? We loved the medieval and pretty small towns and castles but the forest walk to sandstone cliffs above a beautiful river - and then blueberry picking - was particularly amazing. And great company too. Thanks for a memorable day!
The guide was a friendly young man doing his best. Unfortunately his English was not so good. As a driver he seemed to have trouble shifting gears. Finally he had a strong smell of sweat over him, every passenger noticed that...
The tour itself was well organized, but Kamile the tour guide managed to gave me a very negative vibe. Yes, I am coming from Eastern Europe (Romania) but so is she (Lithuania). I saw a dog alone close to Vilnius and I asked her if Vilnius has stray dogs and she told me: Not as many as Bucharest and she also made some other undermining comments about Romania. I don’t need to be put down by a tour guide that I paid for a service. I arrived in Vilnius feeling very sad and humiliated also. And not to mention the little car accident on the way when she made space for a car from the lateral side but forgot about the car behind us, she stopped the car too fast for the car behind us to have time to react so the car behind us hit us, no one got injured but I got very scared since I am recovering after an ankle sprain.
I booked two tours with this company, and was thrilled both times. My friend and I used the tours as our method of transportation between Baltic cities and to see some of the places that are a bit harder to reach on your own. It was shocking to me how cheap these tours were, but also how amazing! The first tour was from Tallinn to Riga. First of all, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Some highlights were the town of Viljandi, Helme, and Gauja National Park. The second tour was from Riga to Vilnius. Our tour guides were amazing and very knowledgeable, willing to answer obscure questions and also fun as travel companions. This tour had even better highlights, specifically Rundāle Palace, lunch in the incredibly picturesque Audruvis, the Hill of Crosses, and Trakai. I cannot recommend this tour company enough, and will definitely use them on any return trips to the Baltics in the future!
We did the Tallinn-Riga and Riga-Vilnius tours and they were both fantastic. Long days but we visited lots of places that would have been difficult to get to on our own. The guides were friendly and very knowledgable and the atmosphere with such a small group (maximum 8 people) was great. Plenty of space in the back of the van for luggage. Would definitely book another tour with this company.
Excelent way to go from one city to another. Our guide, Tiin, is such a good storyteller, (also a driver), she made our day with historic facts&emotional stories about the war and the baltics in general. The stops between Riga and Tallinn were what we need it: an escape from the capitals to enjoy some nature and go local. Also the place were we ate was nice&cozy and thw food really good.
In June I made three tours, Riga-Tallinn, Lahemaa National Park and Riga-Vilnius. I can recommend all three tours, they were really interesting and we saw a lot of things I didn´t read in a travelguide. Especially Riga-Vilnius was very interesting and we saw a lot interesting places. The staff is very helpful, Isabel answered all my mails very quickly. And Triin is an awesome tour guide. She told the history of Estonia very emotional with a very private character and she told us examples from her own family about the suffering time before Independence. The guides of the other tours were also good, but Triin was phenomenal.
Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, our expectations of this tour were high and they were not met. The weather didn’t help as we could not make one stop due to incessant rain and the short stroll in the National Park was pretty miserable. However, the other three stops were fairly irrelevant. There was nothing to see at the bobsleigh track and the military museum was nothing more than a glorified antique shop, selling war medals to people who didn’t earn them. The medieval town was pretty but again, had very little to see.it was definitely not worth dedicating 12 hours to seeing. Our guide was friendly and very open to questions but his inexperience was obvious. The lunch we chose was delicious but overall, we definitely would not be recommending this trip.
We had a great tour with Triin from Riga to Tallinn. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We got to visit places we never would have been able to by ourselves. Our guide was great and she told us a lot about the history of the Baltics. We specifically designed our vacation around this Riga-Tallinn tour and we weren't disappointed. I would recommend it to everyone traveling through the region.
Me and my friend have booked a trip from Riga to Tallin. Our guide was Kert and the trip could not be better! Despite the freezing weather we have seen several marvellous places, have learnt from Kert a billion of interesting facts and stories and have enjoyed the company of each other. Kert is a nice, helpful, flexible and joyful guide, who respected our wishes and needs. We are glad that this tour was with him!
Yes! We took the Riga-Tallinn tour on 13 August 2016 and had a great time, even though it was a bit of a grey, drizzly day. The guides were fun and interesting, and we saw all sorts of things we never would have encountered on our own, plus learned some history. Great conversations about life in Estonia with our driver/guide -- and we made some new friends amongst the other riders. We don't usually do tours as we like a bit of adventure and independence; even if you are like us, but want a fun, interesting way to get between Tallinn and Riga, don't hesitate to take this magical mystery minibus tour. We're glad we did.
We did the Riga - Tallinn sightseeing tour on sun. 24/7. It was the perfect way to travel to Tallinn. Comfortable ride, enough interesting, beautiful stops with great information on the spot by the guide. We have seen places we would normally never visit (or even find). A very recommended way the travel from Riga to Tallinn! P.S. Ask for Kris, he has a lovely sense of humor...
We wanted to take a regular bus from Riga to Tallinn first, but decided to do this tour instead and couldn't be happier about our decision. Kris was a reasonable and dedicated driver and a hilarious and kind guide. Thank you for that awesome day!
Our guide Liine was fun, full of energy and extremely knowledgable as well as being a safe driver. The tour makes for a long day but it is very varied and well planned with plenty of stops. we had a couple of lovely walks as well as seeing some local towns and some offbeat attractions! I felt well looked after. Highly recommended as a way of travelling from Riga and Tallin.
I came holiday to Riga in April for 10 days and i decided to took 2 private excursions which were on Tuesday 21 st Jurmala & Hidden Wonders and Yesterday Saturday 25th Kuldiga & Latvian Countryside.Tour Leader of both Tours was Ance which wad kind ,helpful and explaining regarding the places all the time during the tours. The places were all beautiful and amazing !
I did the Kuldiga tour in Latvia with Ance. It was a great day trip, lots to see and do. Ance was fun and full of interesting facts and opinions. It was great to get an insight into the country, history, culture and its people from a local. Highlights included a walk across the widest waterfall in Europe, Venta, a visit to sand caves and eating at a local cafe.
This was a great tour and our tour guide was a hero. She answered any questions we had, and was very friendly. I don't usually leave reviews, but I couldn't help but share my great experience on this tour with this company. We heard about them in Tallinn and did the Free walking tour there as well and decided to see some Latvia also.
I took one of their first Riga tours to Jurmala. The guide was really fun and the tour was awesome. She took us to a huge beautiful sand dune next to a river and showed around in Jurmala. The old wooden houses are so romantic and the abandoned area of Jurmala called Kemeri had mysterious park. And the bog walk was amazing. Definitely do that tour if you get to Riga. Jurmala is quite close, but It is difficult to find these places on your own.
All our tour guides are young educated locals so the tours feel more like discovering with a local friend.
With us you'll explore the highlights, but also the less-discovered places around the Baltic countries.
We want everyone to get personal attention from the guide so we aim to keep our groups rather small.
