What to do in case of an accident?

FIRST make sure you and all the passengers are OK, help if necessary!

After that:
1️⃣ Call Marii and tell what happened
2️⃣ Put on high-visibility vest. Switch on the vehicle hazard warning lights and place the reflective warning triangle 100m (or 200m on a motorway) from the scene to warn approaching traffic
3️⃣ Call the police if necessary. You have to call in case:

  • Anyone gets injured
  • You cause accidental damage to stationary vehicles where the owner is not present
  • If you suspect the other driver to be drunk or on drugs
  • If the other party refuses to give you his/her details (name, address, contacts, insurance details)
  • Police numbers: Estonia 112, Latvia 110, Lithuania 02

4️⃣ Take photos of every possible angle
5️⃣ All drivers involved must exchange registration numbers, names, addresses and insurance details
6️⃣ Fill in and ask the other driver to fill in the accident report that you find from the car together with other car documents
7️⃣ Later (when you are back home) ask Marii for insurance form to fill and update exactly what happened
