"Tallinn to Riga"

The tour was nice, however we didn’t get to Riga till almost 9pm. Everything thing felt delayed and time consuming. We loved seeing Cesis Castle and Viljandi town. The national park could have been cut out to save time. If they could make the tour shorter to arrive at 6 or 7pm in time for dinner then I would highly recommend this as it is such a long day and when we arrived most dinner places were already closed.

"Little adventure close to Tallinn"

The tour was great, I highly recommend it. The communication with the team was easy-going, everything worked fine when I had to reschedule the trip because of not enough bookings for the day. Our guide picked us up on time and knew a lot about the different spots and history of Estonia. Good to know: in Viru bog, it might be necessary to watch your steps and wait a bit, when there are a lot of people, because the path is narrow from the middle on.

We had a brilliant day out in the countryside and it was lovely getting away from the crowds in Tallinn. The nature of Estonia is beautiful, we especially enjoyed seeing the bog land and the beach side forest and being shown how to forage. Our guide was fantastic, so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and we even got a great little history lesson over lunch (which was also fab). If you want a deeper dive into Estonia I’d highly recommend.

It was a very nice trip! Just 3 guests and the guide Kollo, who did the trip with passion! We learned a lot about Estonia, the nature and the history! We saw a variety of things and time flew by!

"Best day of our holiday"

The tour was on the first day of a slight thawing of the ice and snow - actually edged above zero degrees. There were 7 of us, from different countries and we bonded quickly! The frozen waterfall was almost ethereal and the snowy bog walk a fun challenge and so interesting to learn about the importance of the bogs and lakes. The high point for us was the forest walk (and impromptu village swing. The forest was again so interesting and peaceful and ended with a walk on a snow covered beach and onto the sea with waves frozen in time. Very surreal. Throughout the guide, Kullo, was simply awesome. He was so passionate about his country and its nature and provided an insight you would not get from a book. I think we were lucky to have such a lovely group of people but anyone visiting Tallinn should take this tour.

"Adventures in tbe snow"

We had the most amazing day. standing inside a frozen waterfall. Trekking through a near silent bog and woodland in the snow and making snow angels on a frozen lake. Kullo our guide was extremely awesome in both his knowledge and Estonian history and he made the day even more special. Thank you Kullo.

We had a fantastic day full of experiences and little adventures. Our guide was very friendly and answered all our questions. We also learned a lot about Estonia's history and nature. Our guide was very concerned about our well-being, and he absolutely succeeded. He enthusiastically showed us the waterfall, the bog, and the Baltic Sea. During lunch, he told us a lot about Estonian history. It was an icy and sunny day. This weather transformed our trip into a dreamlike and unique experience. We were able to admired at a frozen waterfall, hike through snow-covered forests, walk across a frozen lake to a wintry bog, visit a sleepy old village, and stroll on the frozen Baltic Sea. We learned a great deal of interesting information along the way. We will definitely come back and repeat the tour at a different time of year! Thank you so much for this wonderful day!

Our tour was very informative and Kullo told lots of local stories along the way. It was a great way to travel to see smaller towns and the countryside of Estonia and Latvia. Kullo kept us entertained with lots of jokes and we would highly recommend this tour to others.

"Eclectic sites in a fascinating area"

We had a tour with Kullo, who took us to Viljandi, a bog right near the Estonian/Latvian border, lunch at Valmiermuižas alus darītava, and the bobsled track at Sigulda. The bog was fascinating, as we'd never visited an area like that before. At Sigulda, we saw an actual competition, with Skeleton athletes flying by at 120km per hour. Kullo gave us a ton of historic information about Estonia and its people, and we learned quite a bit along our drive. Overall we had a great time.

We had a lovely drive with Kullo and learned about the history of Estonia and Latvia. As there were just two of us, we had some choices with regard to the places we visited. We stopped at Viljandi and visited the castle, walked through a lovely forest and saw the sand cliffs, stopped for a delicious Latvian lunch and visited the bobsled track. He was willing to take us more places too. In all, it was a great way to see the countryside and get from Tallinn to Riga!

Rained all day but that didn't deter our nature loving guide, Kullo, from giving us the full Estonian experience of the forests and unique peat bog.

Ksenia gave us a fabulous introduction to some Estonian culinary delights. We stayed in the Balti Jaama Market and went to one outside restaurant. We sampled borst, potato salad, a couple of meat pastries (pirukad?) and a creamy mushroom pork dumpling - all were fabulous. It was a lovely afternoon, wonderful insights to Estonian culture.

"Fantastic way to get from Tallinn to Riga!"

Rather than a boring bus ride along a highway between Tallinn and Riga, our family joined Kullo for a wonderful tour through some of the most interesting and beautiful parts of Estonia and Latvia. From lovely old castle towns with their interesting histories and architecture, to a walk through a nature reserve and the bobsled track with a group of youngsters practising. Lunch along the way at a microbrewery was also a well placed (and yummy 😋). Guide Kullo was passionate and knowledgeable, and being local, gave great perspective on both what we were seeing and the history that sat behind it. A long and brilliant day!!

It was a really unique and individual tour we got trough the Lahemaa park and all the stops we made. I appreaciated all the stories from a local and we had a lot of space to ask and get interesting answers (about the park, the locations, the history, the current culture, the daily life, the nature, the food, the politics and much more). And we had very beautiful autumn weather - I love the smell in the woods and the bog. This made my Tallinn-Trip much richer, a step outside the city and greater perspective.

I had a wonderful afternoon food tour with Mariel. I was totally full at the end. I had not previously had any of these local foods before. It was fun just to walk around the market and stop in shops I never would have done otherwise. And the area of Tallinn that we were walking was also interesting. Mariel was very accommodating to me, as I was moving slowly due to an accident. And a plus is to learn about her life in Tallinn.

"September 2025 visit "

We made stops at the Jagala waterfall, did a walk at Altja Maratha along the shoreline & in the forest, had lunch at Altja Korts, visited the manor house Sagadi Mõisa, & finally did a walk through Viru Bog. Along the way Kullo provided us with information about the places that included both the geology and geography as well as. The social history. Kullo was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed his tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in these subjects.

This has been one of my best sightseeing experiences yet! I'd recommend this as an alternative way of covering Estonian to Latvian towns than the regular bus or train ride. Johanna is a great tour guide and kept the ride from Tallinn to Riga quite interesting with her personal and enthusiastic opinions of history and culture meshed into her delivery of her knowledge of the different areas we went to- Viljandi, Cesis, Ganja National Park, among others that we visited. I wish the operator can also provide the guides with a terminal in case anyone wishes to pay tips by card.

This tour is a wonderful taste of Estonian nature, culture, and history. We stopped at the impressive Jägala waterfall, enjoyed a lovely lunch in a historical inn, walked through a beautiful birch forest to the beach and historical fishing village, and explored the charming grounds of a former manor house. The centrepiece of the tour, however, is a walk through the spectacular Viru bog and surrounding forest landscape. We can't recommend this highly enough. The nature is really unique, peaceful, and beautiful. Throughout the day, our local tour guide, Astra, shared historical and scientific insights to help us put the different experiences into context. Astra was really friendly, knowledgeable, and approachable. Thanks so much! The lunch at the inn was delicious and had plenty of vegetarian and vegan options available. The small-group tour format worked really well where we had time to get to know each other as well as our guide. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Tallinn, especially for the first time, and wants to explore outside of the city. I would venture to say that the bog alone is worth it, but every other part of the tour adds up to a wonderfully enriching experience!

"Interesting and informative!"

The tour was a convenient way to see several different places outside of Tallinn that weren’t easy or were impossible to get to by public transport, especially if you’re tight on time and only spending a few days in Estonia. It was great having a knowledgeable local guide driving us around and explaining the history, culture, customs and nature of the area as we went along. Stopping for lunch at the cute wooden thatched restaurant in the fishing villlage was fun. The highlight was the walk along the boardwalk in the peat moss bog. Our guide Astra was lovely, accommodating and happy to answer all kinds of questions about the various things we saw. It’s definitely a tour worth doing.

"City transfer with history and sightseeing fun"

Our guide, Johanna, showed up in a large comfortable van and we left Tallinn through back road passes to our first destination, a small Estonian town of Viljandi, we park by a tall Lutheran Church, which we step into. Then we continue to the ruins of a castle along a river. We see several cats a thing that they Estonians do is the city may pick a native animal and they make concrete structures out of them as their road blocks in the city. We’ve seen pigeons and snails as these concrete friends. It’s a nice walk through the area and we head back to the vehicle. We have a walk through a forest, the Gauja National Forest, where our guide talks to us about forging for mushrooms and blueberries. Lots of pine trees and spruce. Estonia is known for Christmas trees. We visit Ceces a beautiful city where we have time to sightsee for 50 minutes of our own time which we used to go walk through the Church, old castle, Orthodox Church, the new castle, and through the quaint town. For lunch a brewery buffet, inexpensive yet delicious collection of local dishes and the beer is amazing. Suggest trying the honey beer and the unfiltered beer it pairs well with the sausage. Our final stop is at the Sigulda Bob sled Course outside of Riga designed by the Soviets. We walk down much of the path. Along the way Johanna provided informative commentary on the area, culture, and history. Johanna provided a thesis worthy history of Estonia and Latvia from pagan time to modern talking about how they have been slaves and peasants for millennium. Ruled by Swedish, Danes, and the Russians for centuries. The last was the Russians during World War I And when they had their revolution, the countries declared independence, but it lasted only hours as the Russians declared war. Estonia won their independence from Russia, but it was short-lived until World War II when in 1940 the Russians made a deal with the Nazis and took control of the Baltics. Then the Germans invaded and followed again by the Soviets until 1989. One Stop along the way, she talked about the Baltic Way where the brave countrymen held hands in millions in 1989 indicating that they should be free. It’s one of the best trips really fun. She had a lot of discussions about the area food, the use of sauna in their culture, you can’t go wrong with this tour and we lucked out having the best tour guide, Johanna.

"Great day in Lahemaa"

I'm so glad I was able to do this tour and see more of Estonia than Tallinn! The bog was a cool experience, seeing wild blueberries, cranberries, and the beautiful views. Lunch at the centuries old restaurant was delicious and filling. Unfortunately the Sagadi Mansion house was closed, but we still were able to walk around the property and enjoy the gardens. If you are thinking of doing this tour, the answer is do it!

Such a good decision to take this tour. We learned so much. Our guide was very friendly, open and patient. She was very knowledgeable about the biology and culture and answered all our questions. She even told us quite a few fun facts from Estonian culture. Also, the places were really cool, especially the Viru bog and the hike at the Altja coast line and fishing village. 100% recommended!

Great opportunity to explore the Estonian countryside. Lahemaa is a nature reserve made of peat bogs, unspoilt forests and coastal beaches. Impossible to reach by public transport from Tallinn.

"Excellent way to travel to Riga"

We decided to take the transfer tour Riga because we had such a great time with Johanna on the Lahemma National Park tour. The transfer tour was brilliant. We had a great guide in Kullo who shared his impressive knowledge of the history of Estonia and Latvia. The bonus was that he also is an expert on everything in the natural world, which transformed our visit to the bog into a voyage of discovery. I can't recommend Travellers tours and our guide Kullo highly enough.

We were a small but diverse group and yet our guide Ruta seemed to be able to make our trip from Tallinn to Riga an interesting and fun one for everyone. Our lunch at the brewery was really enjoyable too. Thanks Ruta and fellow travelers.

"Excellent and must do tour when you want to see the other side of Estonia "

I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the other side of Estonia. It takes you to the Russian side of Estonia, where Russian is the main language and hardly speak Estonian or English. In Narva it feels like you're in a totally different country, you're like in little Russia. Also if you wants to experience how life in Russia could be without want to visit that country at all (which is ofcourse impossible nowadays). Also native Estonians hardly visit that region or even not at all. A lot of history story telling and sightseeing on this tour. I actually came to see the bridge that connects Russia and read a lot about Narva, but the whole tour, it sightseeings and region in the end is worth it. Even more then 5 stars, ofcourse thanks to the excellent tourguide Johanna ;) The tour don't go often and after 5 weeks with enough people the tour finally continues I have heard from the guide That's awesome, I came just on the right time ;) Actually people have to do this tour in my opinion, because to really understand Estonia's past, present and future. There is more then Tallinn ;)

"Excellent and must do tour when in Estonia "

When in Estonia for a couple of days this is one of the tours you have to do. Simply there is more than only Tallinn. It gives you the opportunity to explore also the nature of Estonia (where it stands for) and different area's/places to visit. The hike was definitely one of the highlights of the tour. This is the most popular tour and most rated and I totally understand why ;) Ruta was the guide and excellent (history) story telling about Estonia and also Latvia, as she is origin from Latvia.

"Private Tallinn to Riga Tour"

For six of us, we hired a private Traveller tour to drive us from Tallinn to Riga, with sightseeing along the way. Our tour guide Kert was great! We didn't want the full 12 hour tour, so he worked with us to visit the sandstone cliffs in Gauja National Park and the stunning Cesis castle. We stopped at a brewery for a delicious lunch. Kert was very knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely recommend this tour and this tour company to learn about Estonia and Latvia.

"Narva: More Than a Day Trip!"

We went on the trip a few days ago with Johanna. We had a small group which made the trip that much better. Johanna was wonderful, very knowledgeable and accommodating. We explored castle ruins to old Soviet mining towns and stood at the boarder looking into Russia. It’s a great way to see a totally different side of Estonia that most people miss. It was great to see a different side of Estonia - outside of pretty old town to explore its industrial and mining past. Of course, it was also incredible to see Russia - literally right in front of you and appreciating Estonia’s relationship dealing with a larger neighbour. Highly educational, and enriching, plus a tour guide that shares with you personal stories which made the experience even more thought provoking!

The tour took us to a waterfall, over a bog, through a forest, and along a beach. We also had a nice lunch along the way and visited a cool little forest museum attached to an old manor. The small group size was nice and Ruta was a knowledgable and friendly guide. Would recommend. :)

Decided to tour Lahemaaa as we wanted something different to do, after several days in Vanalinn. We were shown around by Johana who was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable she was more than happy to answer all my questions and tell us all about the region. Saw the waterfall, forest and the bogs. Later having Estonian lunch at a very picturesque restaurant. Well worth it.

We had a great time transferring for Tallin to Riga. Hanna-Liia was our guide and driver. She was a perfect driver. We felt super safe the whole time. The van was in great shape and had strong AC. She played fun "folk" music that we have never heard before. At each stop she fully explained the history of the sights. The stops were just long enough to enjoy them. Hanna-Liia also had a great sense of humor. The lunch spot was perfect with good food choices and high quality beer on tap. We also got to hear a personal account about living in the Baltics from Hanna-Liia. If you have the time I highly recommend that you take this transfer tour.

"The best way to travel to Riga"

We came across this trip by accident, while looking for an ordinary bus to Riga, and we are so glad we did. Such a fun trip with a really great group of people. The minibus was relatively new and very clean, and our guide, Hanna-Liia, gave us a very warm welcome. The journey was broken up by a number of well-chosen stops in Estonia and Latvia, which let us see a bit more of the countries and learn a little about the history and culture of both. Hanna-Liia provided us with all the information we could possible want and introduced us to some fabulous Estonian folk music too. We enjoyed our visit to Tallinn and Riga immensely and this trip was very much a highlight for us. Thoroughly recommended!

We very much enjoyed our day trip to Lahemaa NP with Johanna. During an 12-day trip entirely based in cities, it was nice to get out into nature for the day (kind of a vacation from the vacation!). There's a good variety of activities -- waterfall, forest/beach hike, lunch, manor house, bog walk. We learned a lot about Estonian history, culture and geography that enhanced our visit to the country.

I have never used Traveller Tours before, but now that I have, I would recommend them. Kullo, who was our guide was the driver and guide. He did a fantastic job of showing us the scenery, talking about the history, culture, and answering all our silly questions. On a busy summer weekend, we were bumped off our previous Lahemaa tour with Viator, but we happened upon the guide working for Traveller. We did not regret our decision to go to the National park. The bonus was that it was slightly cheaper than the viator tour. The food at the Park lodge was good and authentic. Very worth it (not included in tour price).

Can I give this more stars?? This private tour (2 of us) was incredible and worth every cent... and calorie! The food stops and selection were fantastic. The food is hearty and real. We learned about the country, the people & culture, the food (obviously), the city of Tallinn. I HIGHLY recommend sharing dishes where feasible since there are so many delicious options and you will want to try everything. Our guide Jae had led our earlier walking tour, so what a treat to spend even more time with her on the food tour. We never felt rushed or like this was a 'job' for Jae, but rather like we have made a new friend in Estonia who is passionate about her home and food. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Tallinn, Estonia is now more than a small far away place on the map, and all food tours (and guides) will have a such high bar for greatness.

Had a fantastic time on a five-person Lahemaa day trip last week! Johanna was our guide and she was absolutely incredible. She has a lifelong connection with Lahemaa and a deep knowledge of the place. We had great group conversations and a lot of laughs, but Johanna also made sure to spend time with everyone individually. We did some great hikes through beautiful forests (including the otherworldly Viru Bog!), saw picturesque fishing villages, had free time to explore Sagadi Manor, and had a classic Estonian lunch at the very atmospheric Altja Korts. Johanna was also my guide the following day on the Tallinn to Riga tour, and that too was incredible!! Highly, highly recommend!

Had a fantastic small group trip, four of us plus Johanna, and she shared a lot of history and anecdotes about the places we visited. We stopped at Jagala water fall, both fishing villages, the national park for a hike, and the Viru bog. She knew a lot about forging as well, and we tried a couple of things on the walk. The fog was the group favorite. I think, it was just so otherworldly! I’d definitely recommend a trip with the company, and especially Johanna!

Toller Ausflug durch durch den Nationalpark, begleitet durch Erläuterung zu Natur und Menschen durch den Tourguide. Wie die angesetzte Zeit 8/9 h erahnen lässt, benötigt man doch eine gewisse Fitness und ich hab dann leider erst am nächsten Tag, als ich Krämpfe im Oberschenkel bekommen habe festgestellt, dass es für mich doch zuviel war. Auch die Information, dass der Tourguide Wasser mitnimmt, wäre vor Antritt gut gewesen, so hätte ich mich nicht selbst unnötig abgeschleppt.

Estonia and Latvia beautiful countries. We saw some interesting places. Laura our guide is very knowledgeable and fun. The only thing I did not care for was the choice of restaurant for lunch called Lilli in Valga. It was not authentic but also very expensive!!! Turistic. I am sure there are more restaurants on the way with typical food and fair prices.

"Great Tour with a Fantastic Guide"

If you want to get a feel for Estonia outside of Tallinn this is a must do tour. We had a fantastic guide (Johanna) who lives on the edge of the national park. Her knowledge of the area made it that more special. The meeting point for the tour being the Tourist Information Office made meeting up easy and staying in the old town it is a very short walk for us. There were only 4 on the tour so it was very personable. Now the tour, the scenery was great, the waterfall followed by the walk through the bog on a lovey cool but sunny day was fantastic. Whilst the walk through the bog was about 3km it was a very easy stroll along the boardwalk. The boardwalk is not suitable for those who require disability aids as it is a narrow structure. After a nice simple lunch in a local tavern it was on to a superbly renovated mansion with beautiful gardens surrounding it. Unfortunately the inside of the mansion was closed for refurbishment but that was not a disappointing. After the mansion it on to a small fishing village with a nice walk through the forest to the beach. Walking along the beach brought us back to the start. Keep you eye out for local wildlife on the route. We were presented with the sighting of a fox.

The experience with our guide, Jae, was wonderful. Having never experienced a bog before, it was an educational, informative, and eye opening tour. Well maintained infrastructure ensured that the entire visit went smoothly with plenty of photographic opportunities. The tour started punctually, and ended punctually, with interested nuggets of data about life in Estonia to keep the relatively longer journey interesting. Definitely a must visit away from the crowds of the Old Town.

We (couple in our 60's) had a fantastic Telleskivi food tour! Maibel is very knowledgeable about her country's history as well as the food options just outside of the Old Town. We weren't expecting to get to sit down in a couple of restaurants to try samples of traditional dishes. She made the extra effort to get a taxi for us when it was pouring rain between stops. This was an excellent intro to Tallinn! Highly recommended.

We decided to drive instead of taking the train from Tallinn to Riga to see the countryside. Kullo was a great guide and gave us lots of information - we stopped in Viljandi and had a great tour - I would suggest maybe having an early lunch here as we didn’t end up eating till after 3pm. It was a long day but worth it!

What I liked the most though, was that George could tell a lot about the situation of the Estonian people, at present as well as in the past. Very interesting indeed. We visited the waterfall and had a wonderful walk along the coastline. After lunch we visited a grand house and hunting museum. Also very nice. And last but not least we had an extensive walk through some kind of moory area. We walked on a kind of jetty, for kilometers... Very impressing! And then we were tired.... Really enjoyable day trip, stopping at Jagala Waterfall, walk near Altja, visit to Sagradi manor and walk at Viru bog. Our guide George (who was actually Hungarian!) was really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. At Altja we ate at a traditional Estonian restaurant. The food was excellent, and it was not at all expensive. A couple of things for the future which might enhance the trip. Firstly, after we visited Sagradi we also passed Palmse manor, and it would have been nice just to make a brief stop to take a photo from the outside and maybe get some information about it as we were passing it anyway. Also, when we got to Viru bog there was a useful board showing a map of the park and we could see the places we had visited. Might it be possible in future to give people a little map when they join the tour, showing where they are going and the various stops? I think that would be really helpful. But overall it was a great day and I really enjoyed it.

With only one night in each city, there is no way we would have visited the places we did on this tour independently, due to both time and logistics. Sten was a great guide- friendly, informative, and always checking on our comfort. The Easter weekend meant a change to the usual itinerary- instead we visited 6 places, each interesting and worth a stop. Viljandi and Cesis are pleasant, small towns with castles, Gauja National Park is a stunning natural landscape and Straupe was fascinating. We also had a fun stop at the border, in a remote rural area, and a fantastic buffet lunch at a nice brewery. A very relaxing day with some great stops and lots learned about Estonian and Latvian culture. The vehicle was very comfortable and Sten is a great driver. I can't recommend this highly enough- well worth considering as a transport option if you have the time!

A fantastic tour, such a great way to get from Tallinn to Riga and see places we never would have got to on our own. The itinerary had to be changed due to it being a public holiday so the military museum and bobsleigh were closed, but the replacement stops were interesting, and our guide Sten was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of both countries. He found us a great buffet restaurant for lunch too where we tried some interesting food that we wouldn't have ordered normally. Would highly recommend.

"A real winter adventure"

We went to the Lahemaa National Park in January, knowing that we would walk through a bog - what we didn't expect is that the footbridge is just two planks wide and has no hand rail. We had lots of fun walking on the icy bridge trying not to fall into the water, but it might not be the right thing for people who are easily startled, at least not in winter :) The fishing village was very picturesque, we even had a close encounter with a fox. Our guide was very passionate about nature and able to share this passion in a very convincing way.

Een erg mooie tour, waarbij veel stops waren toegevoegd om veel te bekijken. De watervallen, moerassen en de zee. Verder hadden we een exclusieve excursie naar een oude auto tentoonstelling. De tour duurde 8 uur, en de lunch was niet duur. 7.50 euro per gerecht. Het was wel in de winter, dus veel sneeuw. De tourgids was erg aardig en had ons veel verteld over Estand, feiten die wij nog niet wisten. Zeker een aanrader

"A spectacular winter day trip!"

I did the Lahemaa national park tour the day after Christmas. It was a day packed with activities - starting with the fiery red Jagala falls, then hiking through the Viru Bog, walking on the beaches of the fishing village of Kasmu and finally the old manor houses. We stopped for lunch at a traditional Estonian restaurant. Annaleena was fantastic as a guide, being a biologist she threw a lot of light on the ecology of the places in addition to the history. The group was great too and game for extending the trip with long walks. Was an absolutely great experience and would do it all over again!

I would say this was one of the best tours we have ever done in our travels. Stan, our guide was excellent. His knowledge of history and the area's we visited was extensive and very interesting. This tour takes you to many beautiful natural areas that would be difficult to visit without renting a car. I liked hearing the Estonian folktales and stories about these areas, especially the bog. The smaller tour group size was also a plus. If we had more time in Estonia, I’d definitely take another tour with this company!

Sten was a great guide. Interesting and fun. It was nice to see some of the Estonian countryside. Obviously there were some limitations to the length of the tour and our ability to visit one of the museums due to winter sunlight hours and the fact that it was the day after Christmas, but it would have been good if the tour company could have provided the correct finishing time to us in advance so we could have planned our evening.

The guide ( Mattis) pick us up at the hotel, the drive to Riga was very informative. During the drive, we stopped at various locations, and the guide provided excellent historical information. We stopped for lunch along the way. We were dropped off again at the hotel. We truly enjoyed the scenery and the conversation with Mattis.

This was the most expensive tour I've ever been on, I understand that everything is expensive in Estonia but still had to mention it. The tour itself was great, our guide was very knowledgeable, kind and easy to understand. This sure is the best way to get to see multiple places in the national park if you don't drive. The undisturbed nature is truly something to behold and I got to taste wild cranberries. We also went on the traditional estonian swing, which was scary but fun.

The weather was sunny and pleasant that allowed a tour most about nature. Our guide Ruta has a lot of knowledge about the region. I strongly suggest do this tour with this company.

"Trip to a city that did not exist"

We enjoyed our private tour with guide George, he tailored our day to our wishes and was knowledgeable and entertaining. Our first stop was a waterfall and a seashore. Actually, the waterfall ended in the beach, and the mix of both soothing water sounds really made my day (and I put them in a sound loop to create a sleeping sound :-) My travel compagnion best experience were the different sweet smells of the forests we have been in. We visited the Narva castle and I had never been so close to the Ru border. Then we had an excellent lunch in a university building and went for our last stop, Sillamäe. This is a small city with a crazy history. From fishermanstown, to luxury resort, to industrial oil plant, to concentrations camps, to a uranium plant to manufacture a nuclear bomb, and that gave the status of a secret and closed town, wiped off the map. And in recent history everyone can freely enjoy the promenade and seashore. So did we.

Our guide George picked up the group, and it turned out we were a great mix of nationalities and personalities and knowledges, this already was a source of fun! George knew a lot about his country and was also sensitive to everyone's needs. We visited the Jägala waterfall, the Sagadi Manor, and had a hike through the forest to the seashore, all in beautiful autumn colors. Then a nice traditional style lunch, to be prepared for the next hike; my personal highlight of the day: the Viru wetlands. Somehow pictures never do justice to the feel of being there, in beautiful nature. George encouraged us to take moments of being quiet and feel the spirit of Estonia. And we did! What a lovely day.

George picked us up from the city centre and was kind and welcoming to us all day. He knew so much about the history of Estonia and an expert in architecture! The tour itself was so beautiful and George was so knowledgeable. He then took us for traditional Estonian lunch which was SO delicious. He also drove us to the airport after as our flight was after the tour ended, which was very kind. For the sights, we saw the waterfalls, the forest, the beach, the bog and it was really a lovely day. I really recommend.

Mariel was friendly and informative. She led us through the old town to the markets and beyond. She fully explained each of the foods we tried. And there was plenty (we actually shared our tastes and there was still left overs for us to take home). We finished back in the old town for dessert. Before she left us she gave us an exhaustive list of places to see and places to eat. Just fabulous.

We enjoyed our trip from Tallinn to Riga. The van was comfortable, with 7 passengers. We left Tallinn on time and arrived in Riga about 45 minutes earlier than scheduled. The stops were spread out and our guide, Rita, was conscientious about bathroom stops. She provided great info along the way and was very easy to talk to. The War Museum was closed, and that was a bit of a disappointment but Ruta found an alternative place to visit. Yes, it was a long day, but we were pleased with our decision.

Only negative was that the guide had a soft gentle voice, so when sharing information in the minibus, those in the back row could not hear her. Otherwise highly recommend. Our Guide was very knowledgeable in all things about Lahemaa N ational Park. I enjoyed our walk in the forest leading up to the walk on the boardwalk along the bog. It was wonderful! The guide took us on a tour at our own pace and knew a lot or things about the history and natural fauna of the countryside. I was delighted to try swimming in the bog water. I truly cannot express how much I loved this tour -- it was the highlight of my entire 10-day trip to the Baltics. I loved walking within the bogs and learning about their history (there is also an opportunity to swim in one of them so be sure to bring your swimsuit and towel!). I loved the little restaurant we ate lunch in. I loved getting to see the Baltic Sea up close and learn about the glaciers leaving their boulders behind next to the shore. It was a lot of walking, but definitely doable and worth it to take your time so you don't miss anything. I truly can't recommend booking this tour enough! I, of course, cannot remember my tour guide's name (I AM SORRY) but she was so excellent and even sat with me during lunch because I was by myself and really shy. We had a lot in common, with science being something we studied, and she even went to school in the northeast US, not far from where I am from! We ended up having a pleasant conversation that I am very grateful for.

It was a nice trip to get to know a little about the nature of Estonia. The guide was loving the nature and giving this love to the people. I didn't know that there was possibility to swim so unfortunately I didn't bring my bathclothes. I was more interessted in nature, so that I would have prefered to stay longer at the seasinde and the bog i stead of visiting the manor house. The lunch was really good and fine. I just would have known it before, the information about in the programme is not so claer. Alltogether, a great day with a sympathic group and guide.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience with this Daytrip from Tallinn to Riga. Anna was an excellent driver and guide. It was a wonderful way to travel between Tallinn and Riga, allowing us to visit places that we would definitely not go on our own . Some of the highlights included the Estonian castle in Viljandi, the Latvian castle in Cesis, and an Estonian national standing swing in Viljandi. We also enjoyed a hike along a river in a Latvian national park, visited a military museum in Valga, and saw the national bobsleigh track in Sigulda. Throughout the journey, Anna shared the rich history of Estonia and Latvia from the Middle Ages onward, making the trip very educational. We also stopped to have lunch and taste local food and drinks. Overall, it was an informative and enjoyable way to travel between Riga and Tallinn.

This tour was beyond our expectations. We had a very educated tour guide, where she was able to tell us all about Estonian history, and also the ecosystem of Estonia as we went on the trail at the National Park and also at the waterfall. She brought us to a local pub as well and it was the best food we’ve had in Estonia so far - again, beyond our expectations. Overall, it was a great day that we spent, we learnt a lot about the history here (totally worth the money!) and the car ride was also very comfortable! 100% would recommend.

Easily the tour was the highlight of our tour of the Baltics. Sten was great, he must have answered over 100 questions about a wide range of questions and he patiently answered them all. I understand he is leaving the company soon and that is a big shame. I whole heatedly recommend this tour. About the tour… waterfalls were amazing specially at this period we did the tour , everything frozen around them and the colors were so intense! The hiking in the forest was an unbelievable experience that you must really go there to understand! Estonian forest is so alive and breathtaking, the colors the paths and the way that everything surrounding you is really unique and feel so different than any other forest we have visit. Again our guide was excellent explaining so many things for the forest, history, myths, plant and tree species that we wanted even more time to learn more! The food stop was also a pleasant surprise! The food was not the typical tourist food that nobody likes but one of the best that we had in Estonia! , at the end of the tour you will see the sea… and an old beautiful fisherman village that closes the tour so nicely! There is also a nice museum included in the tour with many nice details of the forest and history of the place. If you are a nature lover or a photo lover this is more than highly recommended! We feel very lucky that we did it.

Sten provided a wonderful tour of Lahemaa. He was knowledgable and happy to answer all questions. The day started with a trip the waterfalls, the walk through the bog, lunch at a great spot, and the trip the fishing village with a walk along the shoreline. Sten was accommodating to dietary restrictions and found a spot that had something tasty for everyone. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour, as well as Stan as the guide!

Great guide kept the tour running smoothly. Unusual one way tour but a great way to get between Tallinn and Riga and see places tourists do not usually see across two countries. Highlights included Estonian castle at Viljandi - Latvian castle at Cesis - Estonian national type of standing swing at Viljandi - a hike along a river in the Latvian national park - a military museum in Valga - the national bobsleigh track at Sigulda. The guide Sten told us about the history of the two countries from the muddle ages as the tour progressed. Very informative way to travel berween Riga and Tallinn

We had a private tour to Riga with one stop (per our request). Our driver was kind and patient, plus very knowledgeable about Estonia and the small city we visited, Parnu. We were restricted to one possible tour date, and Traveller Tours (TT) went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. (A big shout-out to Kerda in the office for making it happen!) 5 stars! Ivar, also excelled in his role as Tour Guide (TG). He ensured we arrived safely at all the promised venues, and provided valuable history and information about each. 5 stars! However, our late October tour date meant it was dark when we reached a couple of tour destinations. Fortunately, that didn't matter for our visit to "the only Bobsleigh Track in the Baltics"; where we got to see a number of international teams practicing! But, taking in "the sights of the medieval Old Town in Cēsis", was sadly impacted by the reduced daylight hours - and because most of the Old Town had closed for the day. 2 stars. Of course, neither TT nor the TG, can control the weather, road conditions or the number of daylight hours - so no direct blame there. Nonetheless, if you are not touring in summer, and are determined to see a particular venue, you may want to ask [in advance] about the likelihood of that happening in daylight. Or maybe ask whether your Tour could start earlier - and [hopefully] finish before dark? That said, we would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting Estonia and Latvia.

Loved it. 4 of us drove from Tallinn to Riga with Ivar. He picked us up at our hotel in Tallinn. We made a stop at a historic town, for a lovely lunch on the border, a wonderful national park for a short hike through the woods and to see the sandstone cliffs, and at the bobsled track. Ivar was very interesting to talk with and gave us loads of information. It was a long day but we got to see some of the countryside of both countries which was exactly what we wanted.

We spent the day with our guide Hanna, a local Estonian folk musician and learned so much about the history and culture of both Estonia and Latvia. The sights were well chosen. I was a little intimidated when we entered the war museum, but we ended up having a very interesting and eye opening conversation about the Soviet occupation in front of a map at the museum. The forest is beautiful. The bobsled track is fun.

We booked this tour when all other buses were booked—so we mainly just needed transportation. The stops were pretty good but I didn’t need the military museum in Valga. We were rained out of Cesis but the town looked lovely. There was no commentary while we were driving which is fine. It would have helped to have more information at each stop before we left the van so we could be prepared for what to bring—for example, we’ll take a 30 minute walk and then come back to the bus. We would then know to bring binoculars, water, etc.

We greatly enjoyed our participation in the Lahemaa National Park tour on Saturday July 15. We were a small group of 5 people plus the guide whose name I do not remember (sorry for that!). She was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about the places and nature. She was very knowledgeable also about other issues relating to the country and it’s history and made us all feel at ease with our questions. After awesome nature strolls, the visit of Sagadi Manor took us back to the realities of the majority of rural Estonian people during centuries. Driving was not too much. We particularly liked the nice hikes in the park and at the coast side and it felt nature pure. The lunch was in a charming and apparently country typical restaurant.

Was absolutely worth the money, you spend a whole day traveling around the national park. We walked through a moor, went to the coast, to a waterfall etc. Our tour guide explained everything very well and could answer any questions you have. Excellent tour in the Kalamaja area, visiting the Balti Jamaal Turg market and the Telliskivi Creative district. This was a great introduction to Estonian produce, foods and drinks with plenty of different stops to try a variety of foods. Hanna was a great guide, really easy company and willing to answer all my questions about the culture and history of Estonia. I had a really good time in her company and enjoyed all the foods and drinks that I tried. La Moo ice cream was a great place to end the tour!

"Unique Experiencs"

Overall, an excellent way to transfer from Tallinn to Riga. Lots of history, stories and laughs. Might be nice to stop briefly at the bicycle training area, which we passed along the way. Also, military museum was closed which should have been known in advance. Church wss closed so we could only see from outside. Lunch location was great, which is right after military museum. Because it got dark early, bob sledding track was dark but we did visit as it is last stop before Riga. We had private tour. Mikelis was excellent tour guide with clear English and wonderful stories. Marii arranged this private tour on short notice because we were the only passengers on our booked group tour. Just slight adjustments should have been made for church and military museum being closed. The bog and the beach landscape was like something I have never seen before, and it was fascinating to learn about this very unique eco-system. The tour very quickly felt like a relaxed trip with friends rather than strangers forced together because of a common interest. I've been on a few of these kinds of guided tours before, and this has easily been one of the best because of our guide, Karl (I chose him on the list as Karl-Johan, I hope this is the right person). Unfortunately, with little vacation time to visit Estonia, this tour was a good opportunity to visit a little bit of Estonia. Lahemaa National Park is very beautiful and with a small group you can better appreciate it. The Viru marsh is unique, the Jagala waterfall is very beautiful (even if with a small jump and in August with not much water) and the fishing village of Altja and the view of the Baltic Sea. The villa of Sagadi is interesting. Our guide / driver Andres, very knowledgeable and helpful. A tour that has satisfied me and I can recommend.

A great day with a high energy tour guide. As a solo traveller, spending the day with 8 other people seeing the sights (but with no responsibility) is a great break from my average holiday day walking around, plus you get the the next city on the Helsinki-Tallinn-Riga-Vilnius route that seems to be very, very popular (at least half of the people on my tour were following that route.) Highly recommend! (You should be selling Bobsled/Luge track tshirts, though!)

Take inspect repellent for the marshes and forest! And an umbrella as Estonian weather is so changeable.

Laura was a passionate and knowledgeable guide. We visited several sites of interest between Tallinn and Riga - so much better than flying or just sitting on a bus - and good value for money. Our kids (8 and 10) managed the trip fine, despite it being a really long day (11 hours). I certainly recommend this trip. The only reason I score 4 rather than 5 stars is because I didn't get quite as much from the places that we visited as I did from the Riga - Vilnius trip (we did this a couple of days later), but that's a personal preference!

Thank you so much for this tour - I've been telling all my friends to travel to the Baltic countries and use your company to travel from one capital to the next. Mike was a brilliant guide who could answer all questions (sorry, Mike but you were just too good so I had to ask that many), make the complicated history understandable and we forgot the time (12 hours with 7 strangers could have felt like a very long day but the hours flew by). One major regret: the tour from Riga to Vilnius was fully booked and I could not do this again.

"Great food and a great time"

First off Maibel is the best. She took us around to multiple places that we would not have explored and tried great foods along the way. Maibel is a historian so she knows and appreciates what she it talking about. We started in the Balti Jaam Market food hall with some meats at a small shop. Next was some meat and fruit pies that were so large we shared them. They were phenomenal. We tried the curds, but they were over all not to our tastes, but we could appreciate them. We went to a place close by for the best tomato soup ever eaten. Next up was Herring at a local place. to finish off we had 2 desserts: La Muu ice cream and then a cream and berry dessert. It was wonderful, tasty and enlightening. Loved every minute.

Lahemaa National Park Day Tour is a worthwhile day trip and chance to see several key landmarks Estonia has to offer. You will see beautiful trails in the forests, boulders, waterfall, the coast, bogs, a manor, and a lunch stop at a charming tavern which had excellent food. Over a 6-7 hour period we walked about 6 miles through the various stops. We rode in a 8 passenger van and it was fun getting to know other travelers on the tour. There are a ton of trails and parks to visit in Estonia but I think this tour captures a little of everything in the best areas. I highly recommend this tour and avoid wasting your time trying to plan your own excursion. Plus you get great stories and facts about Estonia and park from the tour guide.

We had such a great time on our tour! This was honestly one of the most fun travel days I’ve ever had. Mike was an excellent and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor (and a lovely singing voice to boot.) Our group of 4 strangers became fast friends and he put up with all of our antics including spontaneous car karaoke. Why watch the country fly by on a regular bus when you can take a full day road trip instead and see so many amazing sights along the way with a fantastic local guide? This was a nice day tour, with as highlights the walk through the Viru bog and the walk along the coast. We also visited the Kolga manor, which is falling apart, although some repairs have been done, and shows the opulence of the Baltic Germans in the 19th century. In the forest before the bog, and part of the bog, and along the coast we did walk through a cloud of mosquitos, so bring stron mosquito repellent.

Super day trip from Tallinn to the delightful Lahemaa National Park - there is a lot packed into the day but the trip never felt rushed. We spent a full day in Lahemaa Park during winter time. We had the chance to have an awesome guide, Sten, who told us so many things about Estonia. Best guide ever!! We had an amazing day in the heart of the nature. The bog was all covered by snow, so magical! The waterfall was really impressive. I think winter is a great time to visit this place, I strongly recommend it. We also had the chance to see a medieval castle and Sten told us a lot about Estonia history. We had a great trip to Lehemaa with guide Chris. We saw some mansions; drove and walked by the seaside; had lunch in a traditional pub with good food; and really enjoyed the naturewalk through the bogs. So, if you have some extra time in Tallinn I really recommend this tour!

"Nice tour"

The tour was overall nice. I really enjoyed the Viru bog and the village walk. Just a few comments: - the tours advertise "Entry to Sagadi Manor Complex" but the manor was being restore and not possible to visit and the guide wasn't even aware of it so this is poor preparation - the tour also advertised "Bottled still water", however at no point during the tour were we offered water. Fortunately I had a small bottle with me, but it wasn't enough. If I had known I would have taken some more water so as not to get dehydrated at the end of the day. - overall, even if the guide was knowledgeable, it seems he didn't prepare his tour. Having worked as a guide myself, I find that disappointing and lacking professionalism.

Our 9-hour small-group tour took us first to Estonia‘s highest waterfall where we learned a lot about Estonian geography and geology, then to a Swedish manor where we got an intensive course in Estonian history, after which we went for an easy one-mile hike on a boardwalk through a peat bog and learned a lot about flora and fauna. One member of our group even went for a swim in the bog, he found the experience incredible. After a simple but tasty lunch in a rustic inn, we made short walking tours in two historic seaside villages. It sounds intense but it was chill and lots of fun. Our guide Andres did a great job of sharing his wealth of knowledge about Estonia with us. Wear walking shoes.

The experience exceeded our expectation! We opted for this tour to view some of the sights that would not have been possible otherwise if we took a 4 hour straight drive from Tallinn to Riga. Our driver Sten was very knowledgable and passionate about his job, he explained everything in so much detail. The beautiful views of the forest and of the river were mesmerizing and we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who would like to travel from Tallinn to Riga or vice versa.

It was a very good experience. The guide Tiirin was very kind. She explains all the history and the culture of Estonia. She answers all the questions. The trip was very complet with the visit of all the touristics sites of the National park. It's also possible to swim in differents place. It was perfect and not expensive!

Really enjoyed this off-the-beaten-track tour of eastern Estonia. You really get to see a very different side of the country - a lot of which looks and feels like it is still in the Soviet times. Narva was particularly interesting being so close to Russia, but there are many things to see and we highly appreciate that we were able to tailor our tour as desired. Would highly recommend to others that like a more quirky and unusual experience. Our guide Sten was very good - you could ask him anything and he would know the answer!

First, Loviise is a wonderful guide, has perfect English and is very enthusiastic :-) Second, the places she took us were interesting and gave a good overview of what Estonians like / used to eat. Maybe in the future you could also include or offer a local beer, especially with the hot meal. And, Pööbel was fine, but not really in Kalamaja ... All in all, we really enjoyed this discovery trip!

Some places reminded me of former East Germany. Good spots of 'Stalin Culture' Sten was good and entertaining guide, that has a lot of knowledge about every stop we have visited. He explained a lot of Estonia and from the past and today.

"A wonderful Estonian (read: rainy and Nordic) day "

We were welcomed by our great tour guide, Sten, a bit before 10am. We were two to do the tour that day (me and my girlfriend) so that was great as we could really talk with Sten and take our time to discover each place. We started with the mighty ( :) ) Jägala Fall and then visited the Viru bog. There was a bit of rain but it added to the bog experience (even hesitated to jump in one of the lakes from the small platform). The nature there is magnificent ! Sten's explanations about both the waterfall and the bog (formation, role in Estonian culture before and today) were very interesting. Unfortunately, we did not spot any bog monsters that day, but it's probably because it had eaten the previous tourists passing by... We then went to Viitna Kõrts, a nice auberge on the road between Tallinn and Narva where we ate good and hearty Estonian dishes (perfect for the day) and enjoyed glasses of kamajook and kali. The rest of the afternoon was great, finishing with the small and charming fishing village of Altja. We then went back to Tallinn. Sten offered to put some Estonian modern music (pop, folk, etc.) to get to know the art-scene. We took note of some nice songs :) Sten dropped us off before our hotel, which was very nice, and gave us some great places to have dinner or have a drink. We had the time to try some and really enjoyed them !

An unexpected treat! A big thanks to Marii for keeping me informed about the different tours during my stay in Tallinn. When the opportunity arose to join the Lahemaa tour, I didn't doubt. 4 diverse stops (waterfall, bog walk, manor house & fishing village), a good mix between background info and free time, and one of he highlights of my stay: the walk through one of Lahemaa park bogs. The landscape is really typical (and in some places: truly stunning), and the walk (about 3.5 km) is ideal in length. And because the weather was great, another bonus: swimming in a brandy-colored lake...

I took this tour back in August 2018 and it was wonderful! We travelled from Tallinn to Riga and it was SUCH a good way to get between the two cities. The tour itself was wonderful and honestly one of the highlights of our trip. Everywhere we stopped was super interesting and not somewhere we would have found on our own (especially as we usually stick to the cities). The trip is planned to perfection and our tour guide was so warm and friendly (I think her name was Trina?). She answered every question that was asked of her and was so informative and helpful. I remember researching lots of different ways to travel between the two cities and being unsure of how this trip would go. I am so glad I booked this as I still vividly remember the day now and could not stop singing its praises when I returned home. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who wants an interesting way to travel between the two cities and really get a feel for the surrounding countryside =)

Maybe especially for a Swede, with all the common history, this is a very interesting and nice tour to take - to visit Narva and see some of the historical sites that is so deeply seated in our history. But the tour is also of great interest for all people who are interested in getting a glimpse of what life was like in the U.S.S.R. You will even be able to visit a formerly "secret city" that was not marked on the map!

This day trip deserves more attention! We had an amazing time. Our tour guide, Andres, has a wealth of knowledge on all things Estonia (and Lahemaa, of course), and he shared that knowledge in a way that was light, funny and engaging. We had a great time with Andres! Each stop on the trip offers its own beauty and serenity. We loved the bog — during a cold, rainy day, it had an added mystical feel — and thought the hikes through Estonia's famed forests were lovely. Each hour is different, and you cover a lot of ground (including about six or seven miles by foot) throughout. If you're visiting Tallinn, I would highly recommend making time for this.

Definitely recommend doing this tour if you have the time. I was on a short trip to both countries and it was brilliant to see outside of Tallinn and Riga. We took a private tour for 4 ladies to travel from Tallinn to Riga. It was very convenience to carry our 4 big luggages and 4 carry on bags door-to-door from our airbnb in Tallinn to airbnb in Riga. We stop at 3 towns with beautiful snow everywhere in Viljandi, Valga & Valka, Cesis. The guide and driver is friendly and did his best to give us information about each place and help us took photos. The cost for 4 persons is €362.

"Estonia Eye Opener"

We didn't know much about Estonia, being Americans and such. To us, it was simply a former Soviet republic that found independence dumped on its lap when the Wall fell. Through JJs personal stories of growing up during these years, along with seeing some of the scars, we got a much better appreciation of the nation and people around us. I feel disappointed for those who travel to Tallinn and only see the Old City. This tour opened our eyes to so much more.

This trip is really worth doing. The Jägala waterfall and the Lahemaa national park are both a beauty for the eyes. We had the chance to have a perfect weather : it snowed a bit the morning, when we were on the road, which permitted to enjoy very delightful landscapes covered with snow. When my group reached a little tower inside the national park, it was just the time of sunset, which we could enjoy watching from the top of the tower. Me and my two friends enjoyed The ghosts and legends of Tallin tour very much. It was a fun introduction to Tallin's peculiar history and strange stories. Our guide Mirjam was excellent and she spoke clear English, she is a great storyteller. Personally I would have liked to hear a few more spooky ghost stories - like actual sightings, haunted houses etc. But this was entertaining combo as well. Would definitely recommend this tour for other travellers!

It was nice to travel outside Tallinn and see more of Estonia. We were blessed with a beautiful day. The walk through the Bog in Lahemaa National Park was a bit of a challenge but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our group was from Germany, Belgium, Hong Kong via Australia and New Zealand. It was a good group. Our guide was informative. However, it would have been nice if he waited till the whole group was together before explaining the area. We missed some of what he was saying.

Easy walk in the national park including the bogs because the land is so flat. Anyone can do it so dont hesitate to take this opportunity to get out of the city. The sights are pretty in their own rights but dont expect it to be comparable to places like Austria, Scotland, etc. The guide is very quiet but so am I so I was completely fine with it. But some may not be. Some advice for the guides would be perhaps you can share some of your insights on your country's culture and history throughout that long drive.

The stops were actually quite boring but I cant blame the tour operator for that. I think however that the visit to the military museum can be replaced with something else. There wasnt much to see and most of it wasnt even in english. Something else to be improved is that the guide should bring us to a good photo stop or viewpoint and allow the group 5 to 10 min to take photos (which he rarely did. Good phototaking spots and viewpoints are also never pointed out). There is no point in just walking from the van to the sight and back again on stop. Those who were taking photos had to play catch up and walk quickly to rejoin the group.

Since we'd only landed the night before, and we're quite jetlagged, it was great timing for this kind of tour since talking to someone always makes a trip more fun and keeps you from having that slightly lost and confused feeling that sometimes comes with new places. My husband and I chose a private tour since we only had a week and wanted to maximize our experience. The rain miraculously stopped shortly after seeing Estonia's biggest waterfall, and we arrived at the Viru Bog. The fall is turning the moss various shades of red and orange, and combined with the totally unexpected blue sky it was absolutely beautiful. Jevgeni was incredibly knowledgeable about the biology of the peat bog and got hands on by showing us how peat functions and how it is such a unique formation in the places that it exists on Earth. After that we stopped for a delicious lunch, and headed to more forest where he regaled us with a hilarious rendition of Estonia's "Epic" legend that was written in haste. We learned why hedgehogs are considered bearers of wisdom, and we even got plenty of history lessons along the way. Coming out from the forests to the edge of the Baltic Sea was stunning. It was so peaceful and serene. Pat and I both ended the day feeling like we'd seen things we wouldn't have found on our own. We'll absolutely be recommending this tour to anyone else who wants to visit Estonia!!

The tour was awesome!! We came across numerous buildings and statues, and each of them had a different (sometimes cruel) story to tell. Igor brings these legends with enthousiasm, passion and even a sinister sense of humor. :) You'll be sucked into the stories as if you are living them. Keep up the good work! When attending this tour after sunset and in cold temperatures, the cruel medieval stories really come to its best! Afterwards we ate in a medieval themed restaurant (peppersack) to make the experience complete. What a night! When having a few spare hours in Tallinn, don't hesitate and book this tour. Relaly. During this tour you have the chance to visit Jagala waterfalls, to walk into the forest, to visit a manor and to walk through dark small lakes hiding swamps. It's been a very interesting trip, the part I preferred the most was the path among the lakes, I found it very naturalistically suggestive. There are also some legends related to these places coming from ancient estonian people that concurs in creating a particular atmosphere. Our guide, Jevgeni, was highly qualified, super friendly and very kind with all of us. The fact that this tour is organized with a small number of people it allows to create a confident and cozy atmosphere in the group. You also have the chance to eat some delicious traditional food in a folkloristic tavern. Don't miss this opportunity!

This was a highlight on our trip to Estonia, down to our excellent guide Oliver, who also goes by 'Ollie' or 'Hey!' The bear impression was spectacular, and his knowledge of the wildlife made for an interesting listen. Oliver was extremely approachable and provided an easy-going environment for the 8 of us on the trip. Very easy to reach the meeting point at Tallinn, for a prompt departure, where we were driven by car see Jägala Waterfall, Viru bog and the coast, while stopping at an excellent restaurant (and reasonable) for lunch, with traditional Estonian dishes and drinks. I would thoroughly recommend the day trip - reasonable and enjoyable.

Trip was 100% true to description, and know why it rates so highly in reviews.. An excellent way to advance our holiday from Tallinn to Riga. We saw much more of Estonia and Latvia then if we had just caught the straight through bus. We thought the 65Euro price was very good value for money Guide Uku was excellent - very good English and judged perfectly what we might want to know - often guides want to tell you everything they know and more.............. Weather behaved - Uku paced the trip well - never felt rushed and never felt time was just being filled in. Must mention the lunch at Varga at the Hotel whose name I didn't record - fantastic. The nine of us must have tried 6 of the choices and no-one was disappointed - our Caesar salad with duck and wild boar were excellent - and very reasonably priced.

Walking in the bog, snacking on wild blueberries, cranberries! It was good communing with nature, this was followed by a hike in the pine forest, which opened onto a beach , walk along the beach to a fishing village and finally on an Estonian village swing. All and all a wonderful tour. Highly recommend it.

Theres really only one thing to do here, and that thing is a must see; theres an hour walk on a boardwalk through the heart of the bog, and its great, since a bog is such a weird environment. Lahemaa is definitely an interesting option if you're looking to do a day trip out of Tallinn. The trip was a nice overview of the Estonian countryside and geography outside of the capital. The bogs and beaches were the most interesting parts of the tour, and I wish we could have seen more of the park's natural features. The greatest value I took from the trip was Uku's commentary. He provided some fantastic insights on Estonian history and culture, and it was fascinating to hear some of his family's experience during and after the Soviet era.

First of all, the bog in the lahemaa park is a must-see for every tourist in Tallin or Estonia in general. The bog is very unique and the trail is beautiful. We also thought the other stops were a nice addition! The beach was actualy really nice and calming and I wished I could've sit there for like 30 minutes just watching the shore. Though the trip on it's own was great, our guide was maybe even greater! Ollie (Oliver) was very enthousiastic and told us many things about the nature we didn't know. Friendly, informative tour guide. Good day trip for all, including those with young children. Very accommodating when our oldest daughter felt car sick. Beautiful scenery along the way. National Park and view from Bob Sleigh track were stunning. We were also able to pick wild berries and drink from the river. Food at the Lodge stop was good, although the stuffed animals were a bit off putting for me. Local village stops and military museum allowed us to ride on a wooden courting swing and kids to dress up in military get-up. Only slight negative was that our tour left a little later than planned, which meant we arrived quite late at night into Riga; so just bear this in mind for your evening dining.

The tour was well organised and our guide was very informative. We went to the places around the national park where it is difficult to get without a car. I recommend the tour to everyone to find out about Estonian history and its nature.

"Good way to travel"

I enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to travel, as opposed to jumping from one place to the other. Much better and in all ways more entertainining than just seeing the pine forests adjacent to the highway from a normal bus! And very well organized, by the way. We arrived in Riga as scheduled.

It was a very great day with very nice people from all around the world. We saw a lot in just one day !! Everything was so lovely, beautiful. The timing was perfect, we were not running. The guide Reliika was lovely, she spoke a lot about the country, history, economy, landscape... She was very nice.

This tour gave us ample time at several unique sites (cliffs, manor houses, a traditional fishermen's village, a waterfall, and a bog boardwalk) that would have been hard to see without a car and significant knowledge of the area.

"Informative tour. "

We really enjoyed this tour from Tallinn to Riga. There were 7 of us in the van, and our guide, Katrin, was excellent. The trip was very interesting, informative and all done in a relaxed atmosphere. We usually do things on our own, since we hate “tour buses” but this was completely different and I would highly recommend it. We would not have captured the depth of the historical and social background of the places we visited if we had done it on our own. It was great to hear a local person’s perspective about the history and culture of each area, and it was also eye-opening to hear first-hand experiences of Katrin’s family.

"Great way to see the sights"

This was a small group minibus trip. Stopped at various points where Stan, our driver/ guide gave us the history and insights into the past. The castle ruins at Viljandi were impressive. The keeking was fun! (Giant swing!) . The military museum was very interesting with lots of old tanks, vehicles and Soviet helicopter. A walk through the Gauja park forest and sandstone cliffs was really lovely. A short stop at Cesis to see the castle and beautiful grounds. Final stop at the Bobsleigh track in Sigulda. Amazing track where you can imagine the speeds attained by the contestants. A long day but Stan was a great driver and very knowledgeable.

We had a great tour through some of the best vistas in the park. Our tour guide provided us with a thorough overview of Estonian history and culture, yet knew a bit less about the nature. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the tour and the casual atmosphere.

I really enjoyed this day trip to the National Park. The driver/guide drove very well (I'm often carsick so it is important). Then, the trip was well constructed the longest time in the morning so we can sleep and then we walked on the park. The bog is so beautiful and the view from the tower so stunning :) we also had the chance to taste traditional Estonian food : potato mash with bacon. I really recommend this trip !

"An Excellent Sightseeing Tour from Tallinn to Riga"

Our tour guide, Daumants, was very professional, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot of historical information about the five sights and their significance in the Estonia and Latvia history. Thank you! We will highly recommend this tour to friends if they come to visit the Baltic states.

"NOT JUST A TOUR!!"

Our tour was amazing, thank to Lomas, our guide. We visited small medieval and historically meaningful towns and the bigger natural park of the Baltics (a green paradise). We also enjoyed the visit to Sigulda's bob-sleigh park. All of this, listening to Estonian music during the trip, to get perfectly in the mood. Without Lomas and Traveller we would never lived such an adventure travelling from Tallinn to Riga.

Such a great trip. Very cool to see towns and places that I would not have normally been able to see. I was surprised at how much we were able to see and do in 1 day without feeling rushed. Lomas was great and able to answer all of my random questions about Estonia and Latvia while driving from stop to stop.

"See the country!"

Overall my friend and I enjoyed this tour as a way to see more than just the capital cities. We really liked stopping in Viljandi and the castle ruins there. We did not enjoy the prolonged stop at the Estonian war museum- all in Estonian without English- while waiting for our lunch (not ordered ahead of time, so no tables available). We didn't eat lunch until around 2:30/3pm so bring snacks....! We really enjoyed the stop at Gaujas national park in Latvia despite the downpour during our brief hike. We enjoyed the stop in Cesis including some time for a drink- we should've gotten a snack as well. We also stopped at a bobsled run before finally reaching Riga- it offered beautiful views but could've been skipped to reach Riga before 9:45pm.
