"Discover the country while traveling from a town to the other"
We really had a great time! If you need to transfer between Tallinn and Riga and you have a little extra time and want to discover a bit more of the country, it's the way to go! Our guide, Ruta, is very knowledgeable of the area and you can learn a lot from her.
"Exceptional Guide"
The guide ( Mattis) pick us up at the hotel, the drive to Riga was very informative. During the drive, we stopped at various locations, and the guide provided excellent historical information. We stopped for lunch along the way. We were dropped off again at the hotel. We truly enjoyed the scenery and the conversation with Mattis.
"Amazing way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
Our guide Ruta was fantastic so full of stories and information and really made the journey interesting. If I’m around I wouldn’t hesitate to take this trip again it was amazing I will never forget this day.
"Exciting and beautiful landscape"
The weather was sunny and pleasant that allowed a tour most about nature. Our guide Ruta has a lot of knowledge about the region. I strongly suggest do this tour with this company.
"Great tour from Tallin to Riga"
I really enjoyed the tour from Tallin to Riga because you stop at places you otherwise wouldn’t get to see so easily, like Viljandi, Cesis and Sigulda. Ruta has been not only a fantastic guide, but also a safe driver!
"Great Way to Get to Riga!"
We enjoyed our trip from Tallinn to Riga. The van was comfortable, with 7 passengers. We left Tallinn on time and arrived in Riga about 45 minutes earlier than scheduled. The stops were spread out and our guide, Rita, was conscientious about bathroom stops. She provided great info along the way and was very easy to talk to. The War Museum was closed, and that was a bit of a disappointment but Ruta found an alternative place to visit. Yes, it was a long day, but we were pleased with our decision.
"Exellent"
We had an exellent tour with an exellent guide!! He showed us interesting places and had answer to all our questions! I can recommend this tour.
"Fascinating transfer tour"
What a great way to get between these two cities. Some very interesting stop points and great informative input from the driver/guide. Only negative was that the guide had a soft gentle voice, so when sharing information in the minibus, those in the back row could not hear her. Otherwise highly recommend. Gutted that the trip from Riga to Vilnius was cancelled due to lack of guide.
"Group of Six"
A fantastic way to get to Riga from Tallinn. The van was comfortable and we had frequent stops along the way. Lunch was very nice. Our guide Laura was very enthusiastic and we had a great time learning about the history of the Baltic nations. Would recommend this trip to everyone.
"Exellent"
The guide took us to interesting places. He could answer any questitions we had during the hole Journey. He was brilliant!
"Imprescindible"
"Fantastic and informative "
It was perfect.
"Interesting and infomative"
We enjoyed our day with Laura. She is knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and we learned a lot about the region.
"No better way to transit through the Baltics!"
We had the best time traveling from Tallinn to Riga with our guide! The opportunity to get from one place to the next while exploring more of the country is priceless. You must book this trip!
"Great touring between Riga and Vilnius"
I booked the Riga - Vilnius tour hoping to learn more about the history. This tour did not disappoint. Our guide, Lauda (Laura), was a proud Lithuanian but helped us to understand the history and cultures of all Baltic States. I have travelled to many places and she had one of the best personalities I have met. The day went fast driving between the various monuments, castles and small towns. The restaurants selected for the lunch was also well done.
"Baltics brought to life!"

Our guide, Lauda (Laura), was a proud Lithuanian but helped us to understand the history and cultures of all Baltic States. I have travelled to many places and she had one of the best personalities I have met. The day went fast driving between the various monuments, castles and small towns. "Marvelous!"
Ruta was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything was perfect. Definitely recommend this tour, especially for a family with a lot of luggage.
"Making the most of a travel day!"
We had a wonderful time exploring Estonian and Latvian history, nature, and cities on this tour. We especially loved learning about Valga/Valka boundary and doing the sandstone cliff hike as well as visiting the bobsleigh track.
"Marvelous!"
It was marvelous! We enjoyed an entire trip. Ruta was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, an friendly. I am really happy that I found your agency and enthusiastically recommend it.
"A fun way to cross from Tallinn to Riga"
My wife and I had a fantastic experience with this Daytrip from Tallinn to Riga. Anna was an excellent driver and guide. It was a wonderful way to travel between Tallinn and Riga, allowing us to visit places that we would definitely not go on our own . Some of the highlights included the Estonian castle in Viljandi, the Latvian castle in Cesis, and an Estonian national standing swing in Viljandi. We also enjoyed a hike along a river in a Latvian national park, visited a military museum in Valga, and saw the national bobsleigh track in Sigulda. Throughout the journey, Anna shared the rich history of Estonia and Latvia from the Middle Ages onward, making the trip very educational. We also stopped to have lunch and taste local food and drinks. Overall, it was an informative and enjoyable way to travel between Riga and Tallinn.
"Amazing day!"
It was an amazing tour! I was a bit worried as I was travelling with my 4 years old son and the tour is long. But everything was great! Laura was an amazing guide, not only talking to adults but also giving the attention "required" to my son :) Highly recommend this tour!
"Ruta is amazing!"
We opted for a private tour with a later pickup time from our hotel. Our guide, Ruta, was so informative and friendly! She was able to adjust our tour to accommodate our personal preferences. We all enjoyed getting to know her and learn about the Baltics!
"Great day!"
Great day with a small group!
"Amazing tour with nice tour guide "
We had a spectacular time with our tour guide who is familiar with the history of Estonia and Latvia, and she was so caring about our experience. Her commentary on Estonia provides us a great insight and memory of Estonia. Prefect!
"Day tour"
It was a amazing way to travel between countries and see some of the hidden history you might miss on other tours .. I would highly recommend this tour
"A great day of chatting and sights"
We had a wonderful experience on our drive with Hanna-Liia. We saw important sights which we would never have found ourselves, and more important, it was good to get to know a person from Estonia. Hanna-Liia's friendliness and enthusiasm made the day go quickly.
"A very full day. Rewarding!"
Such a varied programme, our driver/guide was superb.
"Great guide great trip "
Super way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Hanna Liia ,our driver and guide, was knowledgeable, attentive and great fun. Her English was impeccable. It’s a long day, but we got to see the country-side and some great sights. Highly recommended
"Sten was the best"
Easily the tour was the highlight of our tour of the Baltics. Sten was great, he must have answered over 100 questions about a wide range of questions and he patiently answered them all. I understand he is leaving the company soon and that is a big shame. I whole heatedly recommend this tour. The prior communication could do with a much needed overhaul, quite a bit could be improved in comparison to competitors.
"Perfect tour! Worth the money and convenience"
If you plan to travel from Tallinn to Riga, this is the right tour! You can visit many places within a day. You have enough time to take pictures and have lunch at the good restaurant. Our guide, 'Sten', has service-mind and very nice.
"Very varied itinery, and great guide."
Great guide kept the tour running smoothly. Unusual one way tour but a great way to get between Tallinn and Riga and see places tourists do not usually see across two countries. Highlights included Estonian castle at Viljandi - Latvian castle at Cesis - Estonian national type of standing swing at Viljandi - a hike along a river in the Latvian national park - a military museum in Valga - the national bobsleigh track at Sigulda. The guide Sten told us about the history of the two countries from the muddle ages as the tour progressed. Very informative way to travel berween Riga and Tallinn
"Excellent tour"
Excellent trip with kert Informational and the right pace Enjoyed chatting with him and learning about the history of the area He’s kind and courteous and will do his best to accommodate you Kerda tried her best to secure this trip for me in the ouf of season time so thx for doing that
"wonderful drive to Riga"
We had a private tour to Riga with one stop (per our request). Our driver was kind and patient, plus very knowledgeable about Estonia and the small city we visited, Parnu. He was informative and shared his stories in a very interesting manner. He was a careful and safe driver plus very polite and courteous.
"Really worth facility"
It was really useful facility. Today I was looking for similar tour bus In Romania but I am not getting. Now I rember how exactly it was useful trip with a happy person as guide.
"Easy going and stress free!"
This tour enabled us to visit places we otherwise couldn't. The guide adjusted the plans for us with the limited sunlight. The lunch stop was great, easy going and stress free trip!
"The best way to move between the Baltic cities "
The tour was super nice and informative, especially for me who didn’t stay long for the trip, that I got a chance to reach to different cities between Tallinn and Riga. The guide was really informative and caring about each member of the group. Definitely recommend to anyone who’s visiting and wanted to move between the capital!
"Fantastic way to see the countries"
We are a family of four, and we had a wonderful tour with our guide, Ivar. He was very knowledgeable and went at our pace. We took two of these city-to-city tours during our trip to the Baltics, and it was the perfect way to see outside the main cities into the "real" countries. I would 100% recommend.
"Great road trip!"
It was a great road trip and our guide the beautiful artistic Hanna did a great job despite the problems presented to her by the roadworks ongoing in front of our hotel. Vlidjani was beautiful , lunch was delicious Gauja with its forest and stream and sandstones was serene and quite magnificent and Celcis with its castle and tales was interesting with delicious pastries and tasty tea. Thanks Hanna for a great road trip!
"Personalised, educational and unhurried."
We were restricted to one possible tour date, and Traveller Tours (TT) went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. (A big shout-out to Kerda in the office for making it happen!) 5 stars! Ivar, also excelled in his role as Tour Guide (TG). He ensured we arrived safely at all the promised venues, and provided valuable history and information about each. 5 stars! However, our late October tour date meant it was dark when we reached a couple of tour destinations. Fortunately, that didn't matter for our visit to "the only Bobsleigh Track in the Baltics"; where we got to see a number of international teams practicing! But, taking in "the sights of the medieval Old Town in Cēsis", was sadly impacted by the reduced daylight hours - and because most of the Old Town had closed for the day. 2 stars. Of course, neither TT nor the TG, can control the weather, road conditions or the number of daylight hours - so no direct blame there. Nonetheless, if you are not touring in summer, and are determined to see a particular venue, you may want to ask [in advance] about the likelihood of that happening in daylight. Or maybe ask whether your Tour could start earlier - and [hopefully] finish before dark? That said, we would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting Estonia and Latvia.
"Amazing!"
This was one of the best decisions I made! I had such a wonderful time, saw things I never would have seen on my own, and as a solo traveler, felt completely safe. I highly recommend it!
"The tour was perfect"
I choose this tour to see small towns and part of Gauja National park on the way to Riga. Our guide explained to us lots of history and culture and he took good care of us until we arrived at hotel. We were 100% satisfied ! Thanks again!
"Wonderful value "
Really enjoyed the tour - great value with 4 stops in 12 hours, it was very well-paced. Chris was a very friendly, engaging guide who was super knowledgeable and also made us feel well cared for. It was a nice group size of 6 - not too small and not too large, perfect to meet some fellow travellers while still feeling personal. Highly enjoyed the stops along the way, good mix of history, culture, nature. Could not recommend more! Wanted to take the Riga-Vilnius tour with the same company but unfortunately it was not available when we asked :(
"The only way to travel!!!"
The guide was excellent and the places we visited gave more insight into this wonderful country as opposed to travelling by train (difficult to impossible) or bus (quicker but boring). The lunch stop was brilliant but the military musuem afterwards was not a highlight to be honest. I would suggest that a couple of the other stops are extended and this museum dropped from the itinerary. Apart from that great value great guide and great way to see more of the country.
"Great way to travel"
Really enjoyed the trip, thanks for a great day
"Review for tour company and tour guide Laura"
My sister and brother and I , we booked a private van with Traveller Tour Company from Tallinn to Riga, and then from Riga to Vilnius. We were very satisfied with the itineraries for both trips, each taking us to four interesting attractions along the way, and organizing a very pleasurable lunch. I would highly recommend this tour company because I found them to be very organized and professional. I would like to give special recognition and thanks to our tour guide, Laura, who made our trip more enjoyable due to her friendliness and energy, as well as her great knowledge regarding the history of the cities and the attractions.
"Van trip Trallinn to Riga"
Loved it. 4 of us drove from Tallinn to Riga with Ivar. He picked us up at our hotel in Tallinn. We made a stop at a historic town, for a lovely lunch on the border, a wonderful national park for a short hike through the woods and to see the sandstone cliffs, and at the bobsled track. Ivar was very interesting to talk with and gave us loads of information. It was a long day but we got to see some of the countryside of both countries which was exactly what we wanted.
"Best Sommer decision "
Dear Ones, I took the best decision for the route from the beautiful city of Tallinn to Riga. I am more than grateful to have had Ivar as a guide and driver, such a balanced, wise and good informed young man. In Viljandi you can make a 30 min round trip to the lake, take the bike path and come back to the van at the museum. Talk to the river in Gaujas. It’s going to be an interesting discussion. Order garlic bread! Enjoy the beauty of Cesis, amazingly well made place. Most of all, be present in the moment. Love and Grace, Arabela
"Absolutely amazing and highly recommend "
This gives you an opportunity to learn and see more parts of the countries Estonia and Latvia. It’s a must if you have a day to travel down o the tour!
"Make the most of the day—Best way to go from Tallinn to Riga! "
I went from basic, logistical research trying to get from A to B (Tallinn to Riga), to stumbling upon this wonderful tour option. It transformed what could have been a flat “travel” day into a full, engaging, informative, and even fun(!) day of sightseeing and exploring. I got to stop at different locations and experiences I would have otherwise missed. Highly recommend this to anyone, with particular thanks again to our talented guide Hanna-Liia!
"Excellent host who coped well with the challenges of the weather"
We had a brilliant time on our journey from Tallinn to Riga. Loved all the spots we visited and was interesting getting to know the region more
"And kiiking too!"
It was a fun and informative tour. We would use this company again. And try the big swing! It’s fun!
"Educational and fun tour with local"
We spent the day with our guide Hanna, a local Estonian folk musician and learned so much about the history and culture of both Estonia and Latvia. The sights were well chosen. I was a little intimidated when we entered the war museum, but we ended up having a very interesting and eye opening conversation about the Soviet occupation in front of a map at the museum. The forest is beautiful. The bobsled track is fun.
"Great way to combine sightseeing with an onward journey"
We booked this tour when all other buses were booked—so we mainly just needed transportation. The stops were pretty good but I didn’t need the military museum in Valga. We were rained out of Cesis but the town looked lovely. There was no commentary while we were driving which is fine. It would have helped to have more information at each stop before we left the van so we could be prepared for what to bring—for example, we’ll take a 30 minute walk and then come back to the bus. We would then know to bring binoculars, water, etc.
"Chasing dragons in the Baltics"
Thanks to Laura for a great time travelling between Tallinn and Riga. She was very enthusiastic about her part of the world and shared it with the group. It was nice to see different parts of both countries. The lunch was superb and everyone in the group was pleasantly surprised. This is a great way to travel if you have time.
"Great tour and great guide"
I highly recommend this tour. The guide was phenomenal, with great knowledge and some fantastic stops. Even the lunch venue was great, with vegan options and some delicious kvass.
"Quick way to take the slow road."
Interesting and fun way to travel between Riga and Vilnius. Informative tour guide during the stops. Only negative is that we thought she drove fast!
"What a day!"
My husband, 5 kids and I thoroughly enjoyed our day traveling with Ivar. It was a great value for us—not only did he pick us up right outside our Airbnb and took us to some fun stops, but he also found us a delicious lunch stop, helped us locate bathrooms and then a convenience store stop later on so the kids could get sodas and a treat. He was fun, patient and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling from Estonia to Latvia!
"Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it’s Latvian bobsled time. "
Great tour from Tallinn to Riga, learned much about the history and culture of Estonia and Latvia. Guide was excellent, very interesting and great sense of humor. Perfect way to see many out of the way places on the way to Riga.
"Estonia to Latvia adventure "
Off the beaten path trip through history, geography and culture of Estonia and Latvia. Ivar was very knowledgeable, unassuming and attentive. We especially enjoyed his bobsled introduction at the end. Definitely recommend.
"Best way to travel between the capitals!"
We had such a lovely time on our tour with Hanna-Liia. She played traditional Estonian folk music during the ride and was very knowledgeable about each location we visited. I enjoyed getting to see areas of Estonia and Latvia that I would have otherwise missed and appreciated her local perspective on history, culture, and current events. I highly recommend this tour if you are traveling between Tallinn and Riga!
"Fab tour"
This tour was fantastic! Our guide Hanna-Liia was so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Estonia, she really made the experience. The tour itself was well organised and saw a good variety of sights. Loved the whole experience, a very unique way to travel. Would highly recommend to anyone.
"Excellent experience"
Really nice and helfull guide and driver. She was really good, both driving and talking with us. The tour have 4 stops plus time for having a lunch. It is a perfect way to see something else in the Baltics apart from the main cities.
"What a great way to get from here to there"
This is the perfect way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Plenty of interesting stops, with nap time in the van in between the small group. Let us get to know the other interesting passengers I’m so glad we took this tour!
"Great way to transfer between countries "
Laura is very knowledgeable, very funny and extremely friendly. The mini van is comfortable and lots of room for luggage. The stops along the way break up the day and gives you time to wonder around for photos. Disappointing the museum was closed. The bobsleigh track was amazing!!
"Great way to see the country side on way to Riga!"
We had a wonderful day trip with our tour guide, Laura. She taught us about Baltic culture, history and traditions. We saw some historic sights, nature and had a wonderful lunch. Thank you Laura for a great experience. We would definitely book again.
"Fantastic tour!"
This is a great way to go from one city to another and see some beautiful and interesting sights and learn more about Estonia and Latvia. Sten was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country!
"Fatastic day"
The tour was absalutely fantastic. I highly reccomend it. A brilliant way to get from One City in one country to another. The tour included 3 castles, a national park a military museum and a bobsleigh track a fab mix of things. We were a small group of 4 plus the tour guide which was a good size fore me. As a solo traveller it was lovely to have a whole day spent with other travellers and not have to do the planning I just had to enjoy it. Our guide Mike was lovely really easy going told us lots of info about each place and interesting personal history too. Its really great value for money amd pretty much the highlight of my trip so far.
"28 September 22 Tallinn to Riga"
Fantastic! Mike is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, good at explaining the culture, and history etc. The ride was comfortable and Fun, singing sessions along the way and some of us took turns to be DJ! The sights was fabulous 👌 Believe me you get more than what you bargain! Thank you Mike, Traveller and the 3 fabulous girls ❤❤❤. Susan Low Singapore 🇸🇬
"Unique Experiencs"
Overall, an excellent way to transfer from Tallinn to Riga. Lots of history, stories and laughs. Might be nice to stop briefly at the bicycle training area, which we passed along the way. Also, military museum was closed which should have been known in advance. Church wss closed so we could only see from outside. Lunch location was great, which is right after military museum. Because it got dark early, bob sledding track was dark but we did visit as it is last stop before Riga. We had private tour. Mikelis was excellent tour guide with clear English and wonderful stories. Marii arranged this private tour on short notice because we were the only passengers on our booked group tour. Just slight adjustments should have been made for church and military museum being closed. Because this wss private tour, Millie picked us up at Tallinn hotel and dropped us at our Riga hotel, even carrying the luggage into the hotel for us.
"The BEST way to go"
Sten could be a professor. I learned so much ... invaluable experience. Such a great way to get far more from a transfer between two places. I cannot recommend this more highly!
"The BEST way to go from Tallinn to Riga!"
Our tour guide (Sten) was a very good driver and a FANTASTIC tour guide. We learned a lot about the history, culture and geography of both Estonia and Latvia. Thank you Sten!
"Chris is very knowledgeable about the culture and history "
The ride was long but its enjoyable,
"Great trip, highly recommended, Mike is a top notch guide!"
Had a lot of fun going from Tallinn to Riga with Mike. He is really friendly and extremely knowledgable about the history and geography of the country and it was an absolute pleasure to have him as our guide. We saw a lot of beautiful places along the way, had fun at the border, and even stumbled upon a small miliatry festval which was really fun.
"Tallin to Riga with a 6 month old"
Excellent way to get from Tallin to Riga. We had a baby with us and Mike was entertaining and engaging and it went perfectly.
"The best way to travel between Estonia and Latvia!"
Mike was excellent. He was so enthusiastic about the history, geography and culture of both cities and had some great facts and recommendations to share with us. We loved the different spots he took us to and the jokes, anecdotes and stories he shared along the way. One of the best things we did on our holiday in Estonia and Latvia!
"Great day"
A great day with a high energy tour guide. As a solo traveller, spending the day with 8 other people seeing the sights (but with no responsibility) is a great break from my average holiday day walking around, plus you get the the next city on the Helsinki-Tallinn-Riga-Vilnius route that seems to be very, very popular (at least half of the people on my tour were following that route.) Highly recommend! (You should be selling Bobsled/Luge track tshirts, though!)
"Good "
The tour was good and entertaining. Mike gave ample time to each stop. Lunch was good as well.
"Road trip plus"
Excellent assortment of side visits on the road to Riga. Mike, the guide/raconteur, was an amazing friendly and knowledgeable individual. Not a dull moment.
"A Breath of Fresh Air"
I highly recommend this sightseeing tour. My family really enjoyed getting out of the capitals to see the countryside and other places unique to the two countries. Mike is an excellent tour guide, entertaining and knowledgeable, full of passion about Latvia and the Baltics. He serenaded us with Latvian folk songs that went along with his explanation of the place where we were visiting.
"Fantastic day "
We had so much fun on this trip with Mike and fellow traveller Shannon - we will treasure the great memories! Mike is a truly gifted tour guide. I've had many guides in many countries in my time, and he's one of the absolute best (possibly THE best). He's great company, giving personal touches to stories, and presents historical/ local information in such an engaging way. We learned a lot about the music, culture, history and geography of the country and all the while it was like hanging out with a friend. Latvia couldn't possibly have a better ambassador :) He even sang for us and let us choose the music in the van. A long day but very interesting and fun - highly recommend.
"Best way to transfer from Tallinn to Riga"
Laura was a passionate and knowledgeable guide. We visited several sites of interest between Tallinn and Riga - so much better than flying or just sitting on a bus - and good value for money. Our kids (8 and 10) managed the trip fine, despite it being a really long day (11 hours). I certainly recommend this trip. The only reason I score 4 rather than 5 stars is because I didn't get quite as much from the places that we visited as I did from the Riga - Vilnius trip (we did this a couple of days later), but that's a personal preference!
"10/10"
Really interesting places visited, knowledgeable tour guide and a great group to share the experience with. Couldn't ask for much more.
"Perfect tour from Tallinn to Riga :) "
Interesting, instructive, fun and very complete tour with Mikelis! I booked the tour because of the program and the reviews were good but I did not expect it to be THAT good. Thank you so much for this tour - I've been telling all my friends to travel to the Baltic countries and use your company to travel from one capital to the next. Mike was a brilliant guide who could answer all questions (sorry, Mike but you were just too good so I had to ask that many), make the complicated history understandable and we forgot the time (12 hours with 7 strangers could have felt like a very long day but the hours flew by). One major regret: the tour from Riga to Vilnius was fully booked and I could not do this again.
"Amazing Tour Guide"
We had a wonderful experience made even better with our terrific tour guide Laura! She was super friendly and knowledgeable. With several different parties on the trip, she still made us feel like friends. Plus her music play list along the drive was fantastic. Highly recommend this trip!
"It is the journey that is important."
So often we hop from big city to big city without seeing the country between. This tour gives you a view of the smaller towns, cultural centers and nature along the way. Mike our guide was very entertaining and informative. He shared folk songs and tales, recent history and various plants and geology. A proud Latvian who wants to share the story.
"Fun. Informative. Must do."
This was the perfect way to travel from Tallinn to Riga. This trip allowed us to visit a wide range of interesting places; which would otherwise be missed. Our tour guide Mike was AMAZING! Knowledgeable - with lots of historical information and folk facts, fun, approachable and a great singing voice! He even accommodated our request to visit the swing on the Estonian/Latvian border and car karaoke! His stories about folklore and references to his own experiences were very valuable. Definitely a worthwhile trip! Thank you Mike!
"Incredible Experience Between Tallin and Riga"
A wonderful day between Tallin and Riga...where we got to understand Estonia and Latvia's history and culture. Thank you so much Traveller Tours
"Best Way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
We had such a great time on our tour! This was honestly one of the most fun travel days I’ve ever had. Mike was an excellent and knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor (and a lovely singing voice to boot.) Our group of 4 strangers became fast friends and he put up with all of our antics including spontaneous car karaoke. Why watch the country fly by on a regular bus when you can take a full day road trip instead and see so many amazing sights along the way with a fantastic local guide? Can’t recommend this tour enough.
"Best way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
Mike is incredibly knowledgeable about both Estonia and Latvia. His passion for the culture and folklore is palpable, and makes for a wonderful day. You get to see some hidden gems in both countries that you'd probably otherwise miss. I'm so glad I chose this tour.
"Fantastic tour. By far the best option for Tallinn-Riga travel."
A superb and our guide (Mike) was excellent. We had to move from Taliinn to Riga and instead of flying or traveling by a coach we decided to use this tour and what a tour it was. We visited places other tourists won't see and we found so much about history of the region. Our guide (Mike) was fantastic, the minibus very comfortable. Strongly recommended.
"Enjoyable Day"
This tour took 12 hours, so it was a long day, but worth it since we were able to experience the Estonian and Latvian countryside while also learning about the history of the area. Mike, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable, and even sang us some folk songs. I would recommend this tour! Great way to get from one city to another when trains are not convenient.
"very interesting tour with many stops, "
Sten is a very good driver, answered all our questions, adapted to our needs, was flexible
"Amazing tourguide and great tour"
We have done a tour from from to Talinn to Riga with tourguide Sten, who was very knowledgable and told us a lot about present and past Estonia and Latvia. He also has great humor and provided a perfect all inclusive daytrip I wouldn't want to have missed.
"An amazing day full of beautiful sights"
The experience exceeded our expectation! We opted for this tour to view some of the sights that would not have been possible otherwise if we took a 4 hour straight drive from Tallinn to Riga. Our driver Sten was very knowledgable and passionate about his job, he explained everything in so much detail. The beautiful views of the forest and of the river were mesmerizing and we would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who would like to travel from Tallinn to Riga or vice versa.
"Highly reccomend!"
I took this tour back in August 2018 and it was wonderful! We travelled from Tallinn to Riga and it was SUCH a good way to get between the two cities. The tour itself was wonderful and honestly one of the highlights of our trip. Everywhere we stopped was super interesting and not somewhere we would have found on our own (especially as we usually stick to the cities). The trip is planned to perfection and our tour guide was so warm and friendly (I think her name was Trina?). She answered every question that was asked of her and was so informative and helpful. I remember researching lots of different ways to travel between the two cities and being unsure of how this trip would go. I am so glad I booked this as I still vividly remember the day now and could not stop singing its praises when I returned home. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who wants an interesting way to travel between the two cities and really get a feel for the surrounding countryside =)
"Brilliant "
Definitely recommend doing this tour if you have the time. I was on a short trip to both countries and it was brilliant to see outside of Tallinn and Riga. We had a very wet day, but this didn’t stop the enjoyment. The Forest was a real highlight for me. Very informative and enthusiastic guide made all the difference.
"Nice snowy towns along the route from Tallinn to Riga"
We took a private tour for 4 ladies to travel from Tallinn to Riga. It was very convenience to carry our 4 big luggages and 4 carry on bags door-to-door from our airbnb in Tallinn to airbnb in Riga. We stop at 3 towns with beautiful snow everywhere in Viljandi, Valga & Valka, Cesis. The guide and driver is friendly and did his best to give us information about each place and help us took photos. The cost for 4 persons is €362.
"Great tour, even in winter"
The tour was so much more fun than just taking a bus from Tallinn to Riga. We had an amazing time with our guide Andres who adapted the tour to the group without us even asking. I would highly recommend the tour and especially this guide!
"One day full of beautiful places :)"
This tour (Tallinn - Riga) was really really nice. So happy that in the end there were enough registrations to go! We've seen a lot of beautiful places in Estonia and Latvia that we couldn't have visited by ourselves by public transportation. It was really convenient, just get on the bus and get going. Our guide Andres was really knowledgeable and friendly, he adjusted the tour to the group (i.e. replacing the military museum by a castle). All the places we beautiful in the snow.
"awesome tour"
Andres is a nice guide, knowledgeable and kind. Although the weather was not that good for the whole trip, but we still had a great time to knew the history and culture of Latvia and Lithuania. I highly recommend those who want to go to Riga from Tallinn and don't want a boring bus time.
"Amazing day"
One of the best tours I have EVER done!! Andres was so informative and interesting! The group was fantastic. Was an absolutely brilliant way to travel from Tallinn to Riga. Will definitely recommend this company!!
"Exceptional "
A brilliant way to learn about the two countries and transfer between the capitals. Excellent value. Our guide was knowledgeable, passionate about his country. A tremendous experience
"Amazing tour guide!"
Highly recommend the tour! Super down to earth tour guide. Great sight seeing spots along the way
"Best way to go from Tallinn to Riga"
The trip was very cool and our guide told us a lot about the history of Estonia and Latvia. Too bad the weather was kinda stormy.
"Engaging and informative "
Uku was extraordinarily knowledgeable and opinionated (in a good way) about all aspects of Estonian life. We were so impressed - there would not be many British young people who could give the equivalent tour! We learnt so much and greatly enjoyed the (blissfully sunny) day. We are trying to remember if Uku took a picture of us on the swing in Viljandi? If so, would be able to send it to us at the email address you have on file? Many thanks for a great day.
"Tallinn to Riga"
Uku was interesting and informative and we learned a great deal from him. He also drove carefully and we always felt safe. We very much enjoyed the day.
"Great way to know Estonia & Latvia with time limit"
Anna, the tour guide is knowledgeable about Estonia & Latvia culture. She was very friendly and provided a great accompany for the trip
"Great tour!"
Comfortable minibus, loads of room as only 4 or us, guide was knowledgable and friendly and gave us a good insight into Estonian culture and history. Stops were interesting and varied, unlike some other reviewers I enjoyed the miltary museum mainly because the guide gave us a good explaination of everything.
"Journey to Riga"
It is indeed a great way to travel to Riga. You get to travel to interesting places along the way; and at the same time be able to travel to your next destination (Riga for this matter). I enjoyed visiting our stops and discovering new things about Estonia and Latvia.
"Great experience"
We loved our guide and it was very informative and fun. Would highly recommend!
"Good way to save time"
The stops were actually quite boring but I cant blame the tour operator for that. I think however that the visit to the military museum can be replaced with something else. There wasnt much to see and most of it wasnt even in english. Something else to be improved is that the guide should bring us to a good photo stop or viewpoint and allow the group 5 to 10 min to take photos (which he rarely did. Good phototaking spots and viewpoints are also never pointed out). There is no point in just walking from the van to the sight and back again on stop. Those who were taking photos had to play catch up and walk quickly to rejoin the group.
"Awesome!"
Tour guide was awesome, very knowledgeable and helpful. I'd recommend going in fall as the leaves are absolutely beautiful! Loved the tour
"On the road from Tallinn to Riga"
Uku was an informative and engaging guide. We learnt much about the places we visited and also about the history of and issues facing Estonia and Latvia today.
"Very interesting way to get the know Estonia and Latvia"
Our guide was super fun and interesting. He presented Estonian and Latvian history in really interesting ways and he shared with us many fun facts. It is great that the group can’t have more than 8 participants, this way we were always on time, didn’t get lost or anything. Although the weather wasn’t the best (gray sky and drizzle - but what can you expect in October?), we managed to visit all the places and the gray weather didn’t ruin the impression. Amazing tour, and would like to do more of them between other cities.
"What a way to travel. "
So much more enjoyable than sitting in a bus or train and watching the sights go by without stopping. We had an awesome time traveling from Tallinn to Riga. Each stop was the perfect amount of time to get out and stretch our legs, see some awesome sights, and learn more about Estonia and Latvia. Food was great at lunch and Anna was an amazing guide!
"Awesome day"
Definitely the best tour I have ever made. Excellent places mixed with a great insight of history and stories from a local point of view. A great way to travel from one city to the other.
"History told in an interesting, fun way with wonderful humor. "
I really enjoyed the day with line. She has a very sociable, friendly, humorous personality, and has lots to share in an interesting, humorous, fun and easy to remember way. The places we saw were wonderful and the food at the Restaraunt was delicious.
"Great tour"
Taking a normal bus means you miss out of so many cool and interesting places in southern Estonia and northern Latvia. The guide was great and this tour shows you the little places missed by most tourists. A must and better than a bus!
"Best way to get from Tallinn to Riga!"
5 passengers; Lamosh was our guide - excellent; Viljandi 1st stop beautiful and fun swing; lunch at Metsis Hotel - delicious, unique & fast; loved the Gauja National Forest and finally, lucky enough to see bobsledders go down the run on ice.
"Very interesting"
I travelled from Tallinn to Riga with this sightseeing bus. It was very good with us being just four people. The guide was amazing, she had so much knowledge and was presenting everything in an interesting way. She read the group very well and gave us options along the way. She even showed us a hidden statue of Lenin lying on the ground and took us blueberry picking in the forest.
"Very good tour"
I want to recommend this tour, I found it really interesting and the guide was great. However, I suggest to shorten the time at the museum! We had to run in the park and in Cesis and it was a pity.
"Great tour and wonderful guide"
The tour was great. The group was small, only 4 people so we had the opportunity to get to know each other and we had a lot of fun. The guide Anna was super nice and explained everything with a big smile on her face.
"Awesome "
Great guide. Awesome experience.
"Great!"
Everything was great. Location, guide, organization
"The perfect Baltic adventure "
Such a perfect way to travel through Estonia and Latvia. We had a private tour and loved every minute. Andres was friendly and extremely knowledgeable which made conversation so easy. Lunch stop meal was one of the best we had our whole trip. Cesis in Latvia was the highlight.
"Gute Wahl um nach Riga zu kommen"
Die Tour ist genau richtig, um die die Hotspots unterwegs zu besuchen. Besonders cool waren die einzelnen Stories zu den Orten. Wäre man nur so an den Orten gewesen, wäre es nicht so interessant gewesen. Würde ich nochmal buchen.
"Great Tour"
Very informative tour with enough interesting stops to break up the day and places to visit that you perhaps would not have done without the tour. Would highly recommend.
"Convenient"
Worth it for solo travellers as those places would be a pain to get to via public transport. Guide was informative and friendly. Would like a bit more time in Gauja National park
"Great trip"
Perfect way to get to riga, got to see a few other sights that we would have flown over. Our guide was awesome lots of info and good chat (cant remember his name but he sings in a choir)
"Best way of travel between the 2"
Excellent guide filled with activities (see their web) in just right timing!
"Tallinn to Riga Two Country Tour "
A fun way to travel between Tallinn and Riga.
"Great day, small group, off the beaten track"
We had a great day that packed a lot in, seeing sights we wouldn’t otherwise have seen, and it worked great as it also took us from our first stop of Tallinn to our second stop of Riga. Definitely worth the time!
"TALLINN–RIGA SIGHTSEEING TOUR BUS"
It was amazing experience and we had interesting historical information about Latvia and Estonia thanks to the knowledge of our guide, Ms. Liine
"Totally worth it!"
I wanted to explore the countryside of Estonia and Latvia while backpacking through Eastern Europe this year. I took this trip in September where Andres was our tour guide. He has a lot of knowledge about the history of both the countries and kept us interested in knowing about the past, culture, traditions, hopes and dreams of the people. Witnessing the green landscape of countryside beyond the charms of Tallinn/Riga Old Towns is something totally worth doing. Also, the tour happens in small groups so you get better opportunities to bind with people on the journey with you. I would recommend this road trip to anyone who is planning to visit Baltic countries.
"All that in just one day ..."
Great guide, excellent driver, good sense of humour, knew her stuff ... Wonderful tour experience with a great variety of stops.
"Amazing experience"
This trip was so worth it, i mean the trip was so nice and all the places we visited were just amazing, our tour guide was really nice and she was pretty good explaining every detail of the trip. I really enjoyed it and i would recommend it a lot.
"So much fun!"
Anna was such a fabulous tour guide, and the spots we were brought to were incredible. Anna also gave me great advice on vegan restaurants and second-hand clothing shops to visit in Riga, so thank you for that! :)
"SUPERB EXPERIENCE"
A very enjoyable and interesting trip - thanks mainly to our Tour Guide and driver Anna. She was sp friendly, bubbly and knowledgeable and spread a lot of laughter & good cheer throughout the trip. Luckily we had a great group and we bonded very well. Lunch was at a lovely little restaurant - great food and ambience. Anna was with us throughout. The experience of running down the bobsleigh track was memorable. We learnt a lot about the rich culture and history of these countries.
"Thoroughly recommended"
Trip was 100% true to description, and know why it rates so highly in reviews.. An excellent way to advance our holiday from Tallinn to Riga. We saw much more of Estonia and Latvia then if we had just caught the straight through bus. We thought the 65Euro price was very good value for money Guide Uku was excellent - very good English and judged perfectly what we might want to know - often guides want to tell you everything they know and more.............. Weather behaved - Uku paced the trip well - never felt rushed and never felt time was just being filled in. Must mention the lunch at Varga at the Hotel whose name I didn't record - fantastic. The nine of us must have tried 6 of the choices and no-one was disappointed - our Caesar salad with duck and wild boar were excellent - and very reasonably priced.
"Great excursion"
Highly recommend this tour. It is a unique opportunity to see the countryside of both countries. Great guide, thank you Andres, for answering all our questions, ànd showing us around. Delicious lunch, visit to Cesis castle, bobslay track, little hike in a forest. Everything was perfect!
"The true marriage between Estonia/Riga"
Andres did an amazing job, picking us up in Tallinn, showed us Viljandi, the history of Estonian folk, history, and sports, Riga's national park, and the Latvian luge practice facility.
"A big day out but a great day out!"
A perfect way to get from A to B (Tallinn to Riga) and see some interesting locations along the way.
"A Funny and Informative Day"
We had a great time on our tour from Tallinn to Riga. The guide was intelligent and very funny. He made a great trip very memorable.
"Brilliant "
Great tour with a great guide
"Tallinn tours"
Great day out.
"Interesting tour from Tallinn to Riga"
Friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. Late lunch at 2:30-3pm Earlier lunch arrangement would be better.
"A lot of Sights"
This was a fast paced day with a lot to see!! Definitely worth the money!
"Great trip"
Great way to get from Tallinn to Riga. I really enjoyed seeing more of Estonia and Latvia. Sten was a wonderful tour guide.
"Good first impressions"
Unfortunately I did not have a lot of time to travel through Estonia and Latvia, so this was the perfect way to get a first impression of the two countries. The guide with his local knowledge and stories made the trip even more enjoyable and although traveling on a bus for 12 hours is exhausting, it really did not feel too long. I can thoroughly recommend this trip!
"Great tour, great guide"
The tour was most interesting, Provided as with a clear understanding of the natural and human history of the places we visit. The guide was very knowledgeable and has very good communications skills
"Wonderful day in the rain!"
Excellent way to transition from Tallinn to Riga. Liine gave lots of insight along the way, which made the trip enjoyable and informative. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone.
"The best way to go from Tallinn to Riga "
A full of beautiful pictures and places day. Our guide-driver Krislin made our day more easier.
"Excellent!!!"
fantastic experience. I wasn't feeling well at all and the prospect of a 12 hour trip wasn't ideal, but the lovely Latvian tour leader made it perfect. The stops are frequent and interesting. You see HEAPS. Walks in national forests, old ruins, beautiful villages and the AMAZING bobsleigh track, among others. 10/10
"Awesome tour!!! "
Great tour - so many interesting places and stops!! Mikelis was so entertaining and chatty and shared so many interesting stories - it was great!!
"More interesting than just going by bus"
Pleasant trip with good guide though stops were not massively interesting. A flavour however of the countries and I enjoyed seeing the bobsled track.
"Driving from little Scandinavia to the people with six toes"
We (4 friends from Austria) had an ambitious goal: to see as much as possible in the short time of our vacation. Not just visiting the classic tourist places, we also wanted to learn more about the countries and the people who live there. This tour has more than exceeded our expectations. We spent a great day together with our awesome guide and the nice group we were with. We got our hearts racing at the huge medieval swing, climbed a true Latvian 'mountain', walked down the bobsleigh track, saw a lot of new places, took hundreds of pictures and learned about the history of Estonia and Latvia. Now we also know how to make friends with the people with just one sentence! We would (and will) definitely recommend this tour to everyone! Thank you so much!
"Perfect way for traveling from Tallinn to Riga"
I would like to say that this expirience was amazing. We learned a lot from Estonia country history, how they live now. Our tour guide has a lot of knowledge to share, which was really appreciated. Would definitely recommend to everyone who wants to see something more, not just a capital cities.
"Superb"
It was fantastic day spent with friendly people and in wonderful environment. Our guide Elina was super, fun, very talktive (in a good way) and helpful. That was enough time for every stop and visit.
"Amazing tour, definitely recommend!"
Exciting day of travel between Tallinn and Riga. I am unable to remember all of the names of the locations, but enjoyed Cesis and the 1980s skeleton run track greatly! My guide Hannes was fantastic and made a real effort to bring the group together. Would definitely recommend!

"Fantastic day for sightseeing & education "
Mikel’s passion for his heritage makes this day long trip fly by. He conveys realness to events of the Estonian & Latvian history over centuries. He shared a very patriotic song too. Excellent job!
"Awesome guide Anna"
The stops are all really good
"Great fun way to get to Riga"
The guide Lomas made the day. He worked so hard to explain, entertain, and generally make sure that all things were good for the party. Also an excellent driver. Hard to believe he's the same age as my son. The tour has a good route, stopping off at ruined castles and old towns, testing a communal Estonian swing, a blueberry hunt in the beautiful Latvian national park, and the old Soviet bobsleigh track. It was a really good day
"Baltic Bee-Boppin"
This was such a great means of traveling from location to location. We often miss the views while up in the clouds, but this mode of transport with interesting stops along the way and with our knowledgeable guide made for a fantastic experience. Thanks!
"Sten the Man!"
I had a great time on the Tallinn-Riga bus tour. Stops included a couple castles, a cave, a national park, a bobsled track, and lunch at a really fantastic restaurant. Sten was a welcoming and funny guide. This is a great way to see parts of Estonia and Latvia that you will miss if you only hit the major cities--I highly recommend it!
"Amazing tour with amazing guide!"
Probably the best way to travel from Tallinn to Riga. Guide was on time, van was comfortable. Our guide Mikelis was friendly, attentive and knowledgable. Learnt a lot on Baltic's history and culture through the journey. Highly recommend this tour!
"Great way to see something when travelling between Tallinn and Riga "
Well organised and very motivated guide
"Truly great way to travel by seeing sights off the beaten path"
Enjoyed the company of Hannes very much. He made the trip enjoyable, relaxing and very informative. I would strongly recommend this option to travel between the cities and enjoy the experience.
"Best Tour Ever"
This was one of the BEST tours I've ever been on. The knowledge of our guide Lomas, 21, was amazing! He made the day fun and relaxing with plenty of interesting stories. I highly recommend booking this tour! You will gain more insight into the Estonian and Latvian countries from a local's perspective.
"Fabulous tour guide"
The tour was well thought out and executed. Our guide, Ellie, was informative, an excellent driver and accommodated the needs of 3 generations.
"Glad we had the chance to get out of the city and see some real rural living"
Friendly, informative tour guide. Good day trip for all, including those with young children. Very accommodating when our oldest daughter felt car sick. Beautiful scenery along the way. National Park and view from Bob Sleigh track were stunning. We were also able to pick wild berries and drink from the river. Food at the Lodge stop was good, although the stuffed animals were a bit off putting for me. Local village stops and military museum allowed us to ride on a wooden courting swing and kids to dress up in military get-up. Only slight negative was that our tour left a little later than planned, which meant we arrived quite late at night into Riga; so just bear this in mind for your evening dining.
"Good way to travel"
I enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone who wants to travel, as opposed to jumping from one place to the other. Much better and in all ways more entertainining than just seeing the pine forests adjacent to the highway from a normal bus! And very well organized, by the way. We arrived in Riga as scheduled.
"Quality trip"
We had a great experience travelling from Tallinn to Riga. Our guide Lomaš was very knowledgeable and funny. Thanks again!
"Informative tour. "
We really enjoyed this tour from Tallinn to Riga. There were 7 of us in the van, and our guide, Katrin, was excellent. The trip was very interesting, informative and all done in a relaxed atmosphere. We usually do things on our own, since we hate “tour buses” but this was completely different and I would highly recommend it. We would not have captured the depth of the historical and social background of the places we visited if we had done it on our own. It was great to hear a local person’s perspective about the history and culture of each area, and it was also eye-opening to hear first-hand experiences of Katrin’s family.
"Great way to see the sights"
This was a small group minibus trip. Stopped at various points where Stan, our driver/ guide gave us the history and insights into the past. The castle ruins at Viljandi were impressive. The keeking was fun! (Giant swing!) . The military museum was very interesting with lots of old tanks, vehicles and Soviet helicopter. A walk through the Gauja park forest and sandstone cliffs was really lovely. A short stop at Cesis to see the castle and beautiful grounds. Final stop at the Bobsleigh track in Sigulda. Amazing track where you can imagine the speeds attained by the contestants. A long day but Stan was a great driver and very knowledgeable.
"Tallinn Riga"
Le temps est passé très vite. Notre guide était très sympathique et les visites interessantes. U très bon moyen de relier les deux capitales sans perdre de temps
"A great way to get to Riga"
This was a wonderful way to see both Estonia and Latvia Great small group with an excellent guide Catherine who was warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable Good lunch stop I didn’t like the war museum and would have preferred more time in Cesis Doing the Riga to Vilinius trip today
"An Excellent Sightseeing Tour from Tallinn to Riga"
Our tour guide, Daumants, was very professional, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot of historical information about the five sights and their significance in the Estonia and Latvia history. Thank you! We will highly recommend this tour to friends if they come to visit the Baltic states.
"NOT JUST A TOUR!!"
Our tour was amazing, thank to Lomas, our guide. We visited small medieval and historically meaningful towns and the bigger natural park of the Baltics (a green paradise). We also enjoyed the visit to Sigulda's bob-sleigh park. All of this, listening to Estonian music during the trip, to get perfectly in the mood. Without Lomas and Traveller we would never lived such an adventure travelling from Tallinn to Riga.
"Best tour, great tour guide."
Such a great trip. Very cool to see towns and places that I would not have normally been able to see. I was surprised at how much we were able to see and do in 1 day without feeling rushed. Lomas was great and able to answer all of my random questions about Estonia and Latvia while driving from stop to stop.
"See the country!"
Overall my friend and I enjoyed this tour as a way to see more than just the capital cities. We really liked stopping in Viljandi and the castle ruins there. We did not enjoy the prolonged stop at the Estonian war museum- all in Estonian without English- while waiting for our lunch (not ordered ahead of time, so no tables available). We didn't eat lunch until around 2:30/3pm so bring snacks....! We really enjoyed the stop at Gaujas national park in Latvia despite the downpour during our brief hike. We enjoyed the stop in Cesis including some time for a drink- we should've gotten a snack as well. We also stopped at a bobsled run before finally reaching Riga- it offered beautiful views but could've been skipped to reach Riga before 9:45pm.
"An interesting road trip from Tallinn to Riga"
There were 8 of us and our tour guide/driver. We stopped off at several places en route. The brewery where we stopped for lunch was great. We also did a short hike in a National Park and saw a typical small town in Latvia amongst other stops. Out tour guide was a very engaging pleasant and knowledgable young man.
"It's worth it!"
Robert was a great, authentic Guide with a huge history knowledge, always open for discussions and helpful in any situations.
"Driving from Tallinn to Riga "
It was a lovely way to travel from Tallinn to Riga and learn more about the country. The guide was great.
"Caught in the rain, still loved it"
The guide picks you up from the center of Tallinn and drops you back in the center of Riga.. telling you incredible stories of his grandfather in the second world war as he walks you through museum tours and the country side hike. Fabulous time.
"Great"
"Great trip!"
We enjoyed it very much, everything was well prepared. Lunch could be ordered upfront and it was very delicious. Also the car was pretty comfortable.
"Great trip!"

"What a personality!"
Our 12-hour excursion from Tallinn to Riga was exceptional. Our leader/driver Laura had a fabulous personality and was very knowledgeable. She also comfortably accommodated all 8 people in the group. When she didn’t know an answer she found out before leaving that stop. I couldn’t think of a better way to travel between Estonia and Latvia. Thank you!
"Interesting"
Very Good service. We visited some interesting places in our way.We har a little bad luck with the wheather but it was Nice anyway.
"Beautiful sightseeing, captivating story telling, & great company``"
I was lucky to be in a group of two guides - Anna and Oliver, who made a really great team - informative, entertaining, caring and both very nice. Although with all strangers, it felt like a road trip with own friends. It was a great experience.
"Wonderful tour."
It's a long day and only stop once for food/drink. So I recommend bring snack and water with you. Great day.
"Well worth it!"
It was a great alternative way of traveling from Tallinn to Riga. It was fun, informative and we had the best tour guide, Lena. She told us about the way of life in Estonia, took us to various interesting sites off the beaten track and with a delicious lunch stop. The 12 hours flew by. I would highly recommend it.
"A great tour, absolutely recommended!"
We liked the tour very much because we got to places where we surely wouldn't have gone on our own. Our guide Anna did a great job both with driving, both with guiding us giving lots of information and being always ready to answer any questions. The group size was perfect, we were not too many and it was interesting to get to know some people from different countries. The best of the stops was the nature walk in Gauja National Park, incredibly beautiful even if the weather did not really cooperate. We are really happy that we toke this sightseeing transfer tour instead of a boring line bus trip and we absolutely recommend doing it!
"Discovering the unknown"
We had a very nice experience traveling from Tallin ti Riga with Eli. She made us discover places in Estonia and Latvia that we wouldn't have seen. Eli was super
"Best transfer between Cities "
This is an excellent way to travel between the two Cities. Easy for travellers and incredibly interesting and informative. Polite, thoughtful and easygoing guides. Well worth the money.
"Nice Alternative"
Your options from Talinn to Riga are limited and rather than take a long train ride or a dreaded airport visit, I decided to take a Traveller tour van and see some more of the countryside. Karolis, our guide, was fantastic, he was very knowledgeable, and an overall good guy who had a passion for the area. He told stories with heart that were more than just about the sights, but about the people and the emotional history behind them. The van was comfortable, the group I was with was great. Bathroom breaks were not an issue as you're only driving for max two hours at a time. Toward the end of the almost 12-hour excursion, I was more than ready to arrive at my hotel, and some of the stops (the military museum) were a bit dull, to be honest, but again Karolis' stories made them interesting. Truth be told there isn't a whole lot to see on the route, but at least you can say you checked it out. Overall, as a single traveler, I would definitely recommend.
"a good day travelling"
It was a different way to travel. We did it with Robert, a very good driver, quiet, and with very good explanations. We did four stops in the journey (including time for lunch).
"Loved my tour"
Just simply stress free & relaxing way from Tallinn to Riga and get to see what's in between. Thanks
"a very informative tour through countryside and history"
This tour has definitely been the best choice to travel vom Tallinn to Riga. Our guide gave us lots of Information about the Baltics in current days as well as their previous and later history. The time for the visit of the military museum in Valga could have been a little bit longer, but I understand that otherwise we would not have arrived in Riga at a reasonable time. I can definitely recommended this tour to everyone who wants to travel from Tallinn to Riga not the fastest, but the most impressive way.
"Bubbly Baltic Bus "
This tour was amazing! Highly recommended! We left Tallinn early Sunday morning and arrived to Riga late Sunday night. In between was a lot of fun. We drove south front Tallinn through the countryside. We stopped in Viljandi and explored the old castle ruins. This was when I first realised the wealth of knowledge that our guide had. From there we drove to the border town of Valga and had a delicious lunch. Really clean restaurant, friendly staff and great food! This town also has a army museum including a tank, helicopter and other vehicles. Liine (our guide) blew my mind here with how much she knew about her local history. Back in the van and off to the next stop! This was to Gauja National Park where we did a trail walk though a beautiful forest full of pine trees, a river and sandstone cliffs. Really nice place. The next pit stop was in the very picturesque town of Césis. Liine yet again blew my mind as she talked about the town, its history and much more. Our final stop was in Sigulda. We got an awesome sunset view from the top of the bobsled track. Walking down the track was pretty surreal. A unique experience. Within an hour we were in Riga. It was a great day, incredible value for money and Liine was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, learned a lot and highly recommend this company. Thank you!
"Rain or shine, fun time w Hannes"
This was a private tour so we wanted lors of flexibility. Hannes was very accomodatinh allowing us to choose the sites we wanted to see. He drove really well, knew his facts and history, and delivered his stories in a very entertaining manner. As rain poured down on us in Viljanda, we had to br ultra flexible on the remaining hours. As I needed to be in Riga at 7pm to catch a flight, and we needed additional suitcases, Hannen obliged our shopping needs and ensured we would find what we needed. Hannes was very helpful, cheerful and enthusiastic, all good traits for guides. It was a day well spent with Traveller tours from tallin to riga.
"Passionate tour guide with a wealth of knowledge!"
We had a comfortable seat to transfer from Tallinn to Riga. All we had to do was to listen to stories about almost integrated history and culture of Estonia and Latvia....the guide is not only a local but has astonishing knowledge about historical events about the two countries. Furthermore, he is quite passionate about his national identity which was demonstrated through his songs and storytelling. We learned so much, it’s almost overwhelming, but we enjoyed every moment of it!
"Interesting tour with many jokes and good conversations"
The tour was good, there was many good conversations, the guide always answered on questions. The guide was also very nice, had done many jokes to made that tour quite funny. Places where quite interesting because there are as single tourist hard to find. Still one of the best way to travel from Tallinn to Riga or otherwise. I can recommend it
"Best day getting from A to B ever!"
We had a fabulous day with Krislin, she was very informative but kept everything light and fun. Messing around on the large swing at the castle ruins in Viljandi was one of the highlights of our holiday. The military museum was interesting but less of our sort of thing, Krislin quickly realised this and we moved on. We were lucky enough to have good weather which made the Gauja National Park even more beautiful. Cesis was a pretty little town and we were ready for a drink in the sun. The bobsleigh in Sigulda was fun although in a perfect world we would have been there early enough to have a go. So to sum it up, I stumbled across this tour when looking for a way of getting from Tallinn to Riga and we ended up having a lovely day. We saw bits of both Estonia and Latvia which we would not otherwise have discovered and turned a travelling day into a holiday highlight. The tour was great value for money and Krislin could not have been better.
"Great way to get from A to B"
Great sightseeing along the way, bobsled track a highlight.
"Tour of the Baltics - Tallinn to Riga"
A great way to see the countryside and places you might not know about along the way from Riga to Tallinn. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and all-around fun to travel with. From the ruins of a Teutonic castle to the quirky military museum to the bobsleigh run it was a packed day. The highlight was a walk through the forest in Gauja National Park. Couldn’t ask for a better way to transit from Tallinn to Riga.
"Precioso viaje de Tallinn a Riga"
El viaje es muy interesante porque recorre lugares históricos y el guía va contando la historia de Estonia y Letonia. Los paisajes son preciosos, los lugares elegidos para visitar están muy bien sincronizados con la historia de esta región del mundo.
"Sightseeing as we go!"
Lovely to actually stop and visit places on the way from Tallinn to Riga - much better than just a straight coach transfer with only a comfort break along the way. Especially liked the stops in Gauja National Park and in Cesis to see the castle. Elina was pleasant, chatty and knowledgeable throughout what is a long day travelling. But the best way to get between the two cities. Great lunch stop also!
"Excellent tour!"
Our driver Robert is very knowledgeable and informative. He took time to explain things to the group. My wife and I enjoyed the trip very much.
"Worth absolutely every penny "
We got to see places that would normally be hard for non-locals to access. Seeing Estonia and Latvia beyond the big capital cities, even if it was for a mere 12 hours, was fantastic and incredibly informative. If you ever need to get from Tallinn to Riga, or vice versa, definitely hit up this tour!
"Great way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
This is a great and fun way of getting from the cities of Tallinn to Riga. The stops along the way were pretty to look at. The group and guide I was with made it fun and exciting. We all bonded and had a really nice time. I really enjoyed walking the bobsled track. This tour was so much fun that I cancelled my flight from Riga to Vilnius to be able to do the tour between those cities.
"Interesting tour"
Very knowledgeable guide
"Highly recommend "
Super friendly and knowledgeable tour guide and great destinations that highlight the natural beauty of Estonia and Latvia. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone in the area.
"Very nice tour "
I recommend taking this tour, you get to see more of the countries than if you take a direct bus or train to Riga. The guide knows a lot so you get a lot of information on the way too.
"'Estonishing' Tour! From Tallinn to Riga"
My wife and I took the full day Van tour from Tallinn to Riga and it was awesome!! Gregor is to be commended - he was so friendly and knowledgeable! He knew so much history and gave us a wonderful insight into Estonian culture and mannerisms. He really is outstanding as a tour guide! We enjoyed the multiple stops and found that we never felt we were in the car for too long - the place we stopped for lunch was delicious!! And the hunting trophy collection inside the restaurant/hotel was very cool - like a museum really. Another notable stop was Sigulda to see the bobsleigh track - awesome views of the valley from the top! The van was comfy and we were even provided complimentary bottled water - all around an excellent experience.
"had some great parts"
Loved the first stop. Could have used some conversation while driving the initial 2 hours to the first stop, perhaps some general info on Estonia economy, culture or history. Lunch was delicious. The military museum seemed pointless and the guide did not add much. It's a shame we didn't have more time to hike through the national park, especially since our guide clearly loves nature. The second village was OK. The bobsled was also OK but not great. The guide was sweet but a little awkward. He spoke a bit more about Lithuania and less about Estonia & Latvia
"Three swiss ladies in Tallin and Riga"
The tour was very well organized. We were three young ladies who wanted to learn more about those countries with a local guide. Very interesting, very nice people in the car. The fact that we are travelling in small group is comfortable, you can learn to know each other and discover other cultures. The journey wasn't too long, or too short, just enough. The landscapes were just wonderful !!!!
"Everything was perfect"
Really nice entertaining trip. The stops all were interesting.
"The best way to go to Riga"
I didn't expect anything, just a drive to Riga. But in the end, all group was having so much fun and we have seen really interesting places in Estonia and Latvia. In the end, but no less important, Liine is one great guide, so nice, professional and full of knowledge.
"A must do for those wanting to see beyond the boring."
Firstly, it needs to renamed as the word bus suggests 40+ people on a sweaty coach. No no no! We were in a group of 7, two 2s and a 3, plus our tour guide in new Ford mini van with aircon, radio and lots of water. They was another tour in another van so this is the norm and not a one off because of small numbers. The stops were stunning, 2 in Estonia and 3 in Latvia. The national park and bobsleigh track are by far the standouts. How often do you see a bobsleigh track let alone walk down it. The hotel for lunch was great... too many stuffed animals but its an experience its self and the food was lovely. A wide choice to choose from which was ordered earlier in the day so it was pretty much ready on our arrival. Not included in the cost of the day but nor should it be. Excellent value all round. Our tour guide was excellent and she always made sure everyone was happy and had what they needed. Her knowledge was great and her tips for enjoying Riga were priceless. This tour is great value, fun, interesting and a different way to get between Tallinn and Riga. Brilliant. Thank you!
"Kamile-xcellent - kamile-smile !!"
Kamile is a fantastic tour guide. Passionate, enthusiastic and caring. A proud Lithuanian. In her own words, "gentle as chamomile tea but also lively as a shot of red bull :)" (Kamile made a genuine effort to help two other travellers who had an erroneous booking, ensuring their trip to the next stop was secure. Simultaneously dealing with a rude parking inspector eeeks.) I really enjoyed the sights, the narrative, the history of Baltics and the delicious cuisine. The tour itself is a brilliant idea for any traveller to witness the regions and get from A to B. Highly recommended and well done Kamile!
"Loved Elina!!!!"
Elina was the best!! She led a super fun and informative tour. She was so interesting and I highly recommend her as a tour guide. Thank you Elina!!
"Great trip with the singing tour guide."
Great way to see Estonia and Latvia. Mike, our guide, was fantastic. Funny, knowledgeable with many a sing-song and a story, Stops were great. Lunch was a highlight, best meal I had in the Baltics and the cheapest.
"wonderful time"
Our tour guide is very experienced and we have a wonderful time .

","
Enjoyed the sense of humour of our guide, obviously knowledgeable about the places we visited and the history of Estonia and Latvia. Never felt hurried and group of 6 was a good size. Lunch was at a great restaurant- liked the way we were able to pre-order so no hanging around. Was a long day but so much better than a quick dash from A to B. Comfortable vehicle
"Songs experience"
Mike was a fine guide, he gave clear instructions easy to understand and to follow, therefore you never get lost ! He also shared with the group numerous examples of Latvian songs, which was very interesting. Altogether with the differents spots of the days, it makes this journey a unique experience.
"Enjoyable trip with a great guide"
The 3 of us really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Gregor, was really funny and told us lots of interesting stories about the history of Estonia and the places we visited. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks!
"Amazing tour!"
Our guide was very prepared, he was funny and the activities were great!! Really non turistic things! I really recommend this tour, the money is worth it!! Sten you were awesome! 😃😃
"Great tour!"
Excellent guide, comfortable van and well-selected sites to visit. Great experience, thank you!
"Very nice trip!!"
It was a long day (in a comfortable AIRCO bus) with nice excursions and a good lunch. The other passengers were also friendly, we have had a lot of fun with each other. My son and I enjoyed it. We will tell all are friends about this trip!! Thank you Anna!!
"I’m Tallinn ya it’s great!! "
Great to explore other parts of these countries aside from the capital cities. Our guide was very knowledge and gave a great insight into the history of both countries. He was really enthusiastic and was very helpful. Really enjoyed our trip, Thank you Fred/Frank 😃
"Why fly when you can tour and experience more?"
I recently toured from Tallinn in Estonia to Riga in Latvia. Traveller tours picked us up in a luxury minibus. Our tour leader was the vibrant, lovely Anna. She was constantly checking whether we were comfortable and included small stops where needed (the prostate thing, you know). She was knowledgeable, funny, informative and probably the best tour leader I’ve ever been with. We stooped to see castle ruins, visit quaint little towns, visit a military museum where we were given insight into life under soviet rule. Lunch was fantastic and even the fact that we had to pay for the meal and drinks it wad reasonable priced for what we received. My highlights were the visits to the national park, the bob sleigh track and since we were in strawberry season, the stop at a farm stall where I tasted the sweetest, juiciest syrawberries I have ever tasted. Kudos to Anna and Traveller Tours for an interesting alternative to flying.
"Definitely worth it - recommend ! "
It’s lovely to go through the Estonian and Latvian countryside and our Tour guide was a great chap who showed us the many sights along the way.
"Nice trip"
We had a nice day with our guide Mike who showed us different sites in Estonia and Latvia. Great Trip, we recommand it.
"Cool experience"
It was a great experience to see more than just the capital and getting to know more of the two countries. We loved the ride and the conversation with our guide.
"Very interesting sightseeing tour "
Very nice guide knowing everything about Estonia and Latvia, people, countryside, monuments, history and languages... We learned so much from Krislin !
"Tallin - Riga"
Ottima soluzione per raggiungere Riga, tappe interessanti. Ottima soluzione di ristoro. Guida attenta e disponibile!! E' la prima volta che con la famiglia ci appoggiamo ad un tour e siamo molto soddisfatti, lo consigliamo!
"Best way to visit and travel throughout the Baltic states. "
We did several activities with traveller.ee including the 12-hour journey from Tallinn to Riga with Lõmaš. It was awesome due to the enthusiasm of the guide, his kindness and eagerness to share culture and knowledge. Small group of 8 people, enabled us to exchange, to ask questions and create a nice and ludic atmosphere during the journey and the tour. Lõmaš clearly knows hid stuff and is genuinely happy to share it with you. He adapts to the centres of interest of the group and always have fascinating stories to tell. The highlights of the tour were adapted to the length of the journey and Lõmaš made sure to look after us as we didn't speak the linguo in some museums so we could enjoy the visit. Strongly recommended.
"A memorable experience!"
The 12-hour trip went by very quickly and it was because the trip great. I got to see different sites that I wouldn't have been able to should I choose the 3 hour-long boring bus ride just to get from point A to point B. Mike, our guide, is very charming, charismatic, kind, and sweet. In addition, he is knowledgable. I really enjoy him, the stories he shared, and all the folks songs he sang. What a treat!. I was traveling alone, but I will do the same route next time I come with my partner.
"Very good guide / quirky stops. "
Was very pleased with our guide - he was knowledgeable, conversant, and had good energy. We were off the beaten path and saw interesting and unusual sights. I learned a semester’s worth of Baltic history in one day! We never overstayed anywhere and, while the day was long, I felt the pace was good (I can be impatient). Definitely a great way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Only downside was that modern Ford vans do not offer ideal sight lines (I was in the middle row and stared at a large headrest / side view was adequate). Front and far-back seats have best views.
"The best way to explore the area!"
Uku was really knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We stopped at lots of interesting and beautiful places and the 12 hours went by very quickly. It was a really great day and excellent value.
"Great way to get to Riga"
We had Gregor as our guide and he was fantastic. Gave us lots of information about each of the places (with an Estonian slant!) and made sure everyone was happy and comfortable. The places we visited were interesting and we wouldn't have seen or found out about them if we just got on a plane to Riga so well worth doing!
"What a ride!"
Krislin was a wonderful tour guide. It’s a 12 hour day but broken up nicely so it doesn’t seem overly long. The stops were definitely worth seeing. One I could have passed on, but Krislin made it extremely interesting. The bob sled track was especially interesting to see.
"The Perfect Transfer Tour!"
This was a great way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. The best way to see these sights along the way! I think the only stop that could have been skipped is the Military museum. More time in Cesis would have been better. Otherwise a great transfer tour!!
"no"
The tour was really nice our guide Robert (tall blonde Estonian) was very good, his english was surprisingly good as well and he was very informative. The military museum stop seemed kinda pointless but thats partially because I was already somewhat informed.
"We loved this tour!"
It was a great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga. We visited great places off the regular tourist beat. Our driver/guide was fabulous. We learnt so much about the history as well as what life is like today in Estonia and Latvia.
"Truly the most interesting transport option"
The tour is indeed the most interesting way of commute from Tallinn to Riga where you get to stop at a few places listening to interesting stories and meeting people from different places. Our guide Eli is great!
"Perfect way to go from Tallinn to Riga"
When you don’t have your own car and does not want to rent one this trip is PERFECT SOLUTION! Not only you get from the Estonian capital to the Latvian, but you can see many interesting places on the road, which are not easy to see without driving, or at least not in such a short time. The castles were great, as well as the walk in the national park. I liked a bit less the visit to the Sigulda bobsleighs, but this is only my personal taste. However, if you have time, go back to Sigulda for a day trip from Riga. Take the train or a bus (about an hour) visit the castle, take the cable car over the river valley, walk to Turaida castle through the forest - it is an excellent cultural & natural experience.
"Fun day of sightseeing while transferring"
It was a nice way to see a bit of the country-side of the two countries while transferring between them. Some fairly interesting sights to visit and a knowledgeable and entertaining guide talking about the history and people. I enjoyed it
"Worth the detour! "
Decided to go for this tour instead of a direct non-stop bus to Riga to check out some smaller towns, which truly I wouldn’t have gone on my own. Gregor was really into the history and was a great guide for us. I think it really helps when the guides have passion for their job. Helps us enjoy too! Some might find this tour a little too long, but the stops are well-planned out and with good toilet breaks as well.
"Charming guide, charming trip, charmed guests!"
The whole family enjoyed the Tallinn-Riga trip with Marju, very professional, excellent driver, lot of culture and knowledge about the history of Estonia and Latvia. Moreover, the blue eyes, the good mood and the smile were always there. Really worth the experience! Definitely recommended!
"Fun, sociable and educational. We had a great day."
Krislin was a charming, relaxed and well informed guide. It was really nice meeting a small group of people from all over the world and spending some time with them in the context of interesting activities that sparked conversation. The stops on the tour were varied and the tour well structured and thought out. The restaurant we ate lunch in was outstanding.
"Really awesome!"
The tour was really great, we had an amazing day! The guide, Uku, knew so much about every place we stopped. He was telling us information in a way we could easily understand, and made some jokes. I liked the fact that it was only a little group. We had plenty of time at all the places we stopped. We were never rushed. The guide gave us enough time to enjoy the place, and to hear his stories. At one point, it was raining so hard, that Uku stopped at a gasstation to buy us some raincoats. We were lucky that it stopped raining at the next stop, but it was really nice of him. Lunch was good, and we had a great day. I would really recommend this tour! And Uku, thank you for the really great day!
"A tour guide who also travels "
Our tour guide was Andres and he was amazing. So great to have a tour guide that actually travels as well - and has lots of insights and empathy for those who are traveling. He was very amusing and made the history come alive. He also was a very safe driver... we had torrential rain on the way and at times visibility was very poor. He was very cautious and I never felt unsafe .
"Informative way to travel"
This tour was well worth it as it allowed us to travel between Tallinn & Riga and learn so much along the way. Our guide was do knowledgeable . Highly recommended.
"A marvellous trip into the green"
The overall trip from Tallinn to Riga was excellent. The mini bus was comfortable. Our guide Catherina was very kind, nice, helpful and tried to explain us whatever we saw. You can't do such a trip by yourself or with an ordinary touristic tour. We saw many interesting places. I called it a trip into the green because green is the color of nature in Estonia and Latvia and we saw every tone of green on the road, in national parc and in small towns we visited. Thanh you for this wonderful trip.
"Riga or bust!!!!!"
We had a great time on this trip. Carolus ( hope i’ve spelt it right) was a fun tour guide and a wealth of knowledge. Would recommend this trip to anyone visiting Tallinn. We had a mixed age group on our tour but everyone seemed to have as good a tome as us oldies😂
"On the Road to Riga"
If you have the time make sure to take this tour as it will take you through the Estonian and Lan Feehan countryside and introduce you to some of the past from these two countries. In addition the tour guides her fantastic, Good drivers and very knowledgeable about the region. Highly recommend!
"Great service indeed!!!"
It was great service and value for money.
"Off the beaten track "
Eli is a kind energetic friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Very helpful lively and conscientious. The tour was fun informative and entertaining. The 12 hours passed quickly.
"Enriching"
Just like it!
"Excellent Option to Make Tallinn - Riga Interesting"
We looked at traveling between Tallinn and Riga by train or bus and found this comprehensive small group tour was a better option. The cost is reasonable and you get to see a few places of interest along the way. Our guide Linne was very knowledgable, quirky and fun! She made the day interesting without drowning us in facts and dates but gave good information and was able to expand based on peoples questions and interest levels. I would do this trip again! It also runs in the reverse format or Riga to Tallinn.
"Best way between the capitals"
If your going to travel between the capitals, why not spend a little more time and see the countryside, castles, towns, and bobsled track? Absolutely worth it and our guide was great!
"Fantastic Tour"
Really worthwhile tour.
"Travel with a local touch"
Excellent knowledgeable guide. Comfortable van. Enjoyable sights.
"Travel with a local touch"
Excellent knowledgeable guide. Comfortable van. Enjoyable sights.
"Informative trip and a safe drive"
The trip is interesting. The guide (sorry, I think her name is Linne, but not so sure) , is knowledgeable and explain the history clearly. Why not join this tour if you are travelling from Tallinn to Riga. It save time and you got to visit different places.
"An interesting cultural trip"
We have found that the whole tour was very interesting because not only we saw the sceneries of Estonia and Latvia, and also learnt a lot about these two countries’ history, culture, society and nature. Our guide Anna was extremely passionate, enthusiastic and helpful. We had a very good lunch in a beautiful restaurant. However, we hope that we could have some free time by ourselves for walking around historic towns.
"Best way to travel from Tallinn-Riga"
There is no reason to travel from Tallinn to Riga any other way. Our guide Liine was fun, informative and very knowledgeable. We saw things that we probably wouldn't have seen travelling on our own and learned a ton of interesting history along the way.
"What a joyful ride!!!"
Except for the fact that the rain interrupted our hiking in the national park, we did have a great trip all the way from Tallinn to Riga. Thanks for the other nice teavelmates and our super guide Anna, we enjoyed ourselves a lot.
"The wheels on the bus go round & round, but no bob sleigh!"
Good tour but we got a new tour driver/guide, with a lack of confidence. It was his first tour. If it wasn't for a fellow traveller who filled in the history points, this might have been boring. The stop for a meal was exceptional. Very good quality, 5 star meal at a reasonable price. Loved the places we visited, but very disappointed as we booked due to the bobsleigh ride. We were not the only disappointed travellers. They only run at the weekend, please be aware. Will recommend to others, would do it again as it bets a 4 1/2 hour boring bus journey.
"Nice tour!"
We had a really good guide who told us a lot of indept stories about Estonian and Latvian culture. Really injoyed it!
"Yes, go!"
Trains are an option, but this bus service is great for those who like seeing more than just city centers. Guides were fun & knowledgeable. The crowd was mixed: younger & older, travelers from many countries but all in English.
"Great journey from Tallinn to Riga"
Mike (Mikelis) was an amazing driver. He know very well the history of the two countries and responded to all our questions. Great singer too!

"Excellent service "
Perfect tour, perfect guide, well educatied.
"Dead Lenin in a Derelict Brewery Garden"
Taking the slow route through Estonia and Latvia is definitely the best option. Our guide, Katlin, was knowledgeable, helpful and charming and she was able to give us a good history of both countries. It is also interesting to travel with a previously unknown group of mixed nationalities. The stops were well chosen and varied. If one were to offer a slight criticism, the minibus, although very modern and sleek, was a little small for the number of people on board. All in all, this was an excellent trip that we would recommend highly to others. We are now interested in investigating Traveller Tours to other destinations.
"Travelling from Tallinn to Riga on a public holiday "
Robert had his task cut out when had to entertain a group of travellers on a public holiday when just about every place closed, even the public toilets. Nevertheless he performed very well by filling in the gaps with his excellent knowledge of the Estonian history and besides getting us to our destination safely we were even able to enjoy a good meal en route. Well done!
"See more than Tallinn"
Professional and knowledgeable guide showed us more than the cities and gave us context for understanding Estonia more fully.
"Could not have been better!"
Gregor was such a nice driver, guide and friend! He made the trip unique and was really helpful and flexible, when things didn't work as planned! Great job, good luck for your future! - The 4 German guys ;-)
"Easy way to experience a bit of country "
Very good idea to visit places on the way between Tallinn and Rīga, and this one is made easy and nice, we had a very knowledgeable and accommodating tour guide. I guess I wish we had seen more of Estonia, the museum wasn’t too much of a new thing to me.
"Great guide"
Thought guide 's name was Nina. Very fun and informative. It was a good group. Some walking parts I had to miss due to a disability. Would have liked more time in Cesis. It was a very long day
"Truly the best way to go from Tallinn to Riga"
Robert took us from Tallinn to Riga with a lot of stops in between that allowed us to better know and understand both countries. The mood was always very good with very interesting discussions, both directly related with the tour or just with something else we thought interesting. I truly recommend Traveller Tours and, specifically, the Tallinn–Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus!
"Tour offered cultural insights beyond visit to capital cities. "
Kert was a great guide. His enthusiasm to share his knowledge of the history and culture of Estonia and Latvia was a huge benefit to our trip from Tallinn to Riga. I did enjoy each of the stops. I do wish we could have explored Cesis to a greater extent. The road to the national park was pretty rough (Gravel road with extended sections with washboard). But in it's own way, the road revealed the state of rural living as it exists today. The restaurant for lunch was nice.
"Highly recommend "
Great guide and went to places we otherwise wouldn't know about or thought of visiting. The bobsleigh track was super cool.
"Great day trip"
Friendly guide & some nice interesting sights! Cannot fault how accomodating the guide was, plus he was a very good safe driver. I would’ve loved to give it 5 stars but I dropped a star because the minibus was a bit uncomfortable & cramped to spend 11+ hours in (In the row behind the driver there’s no room to stretch your legs out). I also felt it was a bit too long a day with one too many stops. But it’s a really fun way to see the country!
"Amaizing idea!!!! "
We had a great time and very interesting history from Gregor the whole trip!!!! It could have been a boring 5-6 hour bus trip and ended being an incredible interesting nature rich journey!!!! I traveled with my 9 year old son who had a blast! Thank you so much!!!!!
"Robert was a real gem"
Despite the public holiday our guide Robert showed great resourcefulness in providing an interesting tour when the usual museums were closed. Great knowledge of Estonian history
"Good way to sample the countryside of Estonia and Latvia"
If you’re not in a hurry to get from one capital city to another, this twelve hour tour provides a nice sample of some of the rural gems between Tallinn and Riga. Our guide, Mike, was engaging, well informed, and fun. He shared both fact and fable, as well as several songs. The lunch at a country inn was outstanding.
"Interesting Way to Travel"
Our guide was informative and enthusiastic. The stops along the way were interesting and the tour is well paced. One negative thing is that only the people who sit in the front next to the guide get to hear her commentary and ask questions along the way. This was frustrating.
"Wonderful Day Trip from Tallinn to Riga"
We are much appreciated for this one day tour. The time schedule is good because we have visited Estonian Traditional Music Center, Sietiniezis, Cesis and Sighlda. The guide’s sincere and helpful manner could give us a good memory, she gave us many information in each attraction and also explained very well. The lunch is delicious and the place very good. Although this tour is only one day but we extremely grateful to her.
"Wonderful Day Trip from Tallinn-Riga"
We are much appreciated for Miss Eli did in this trip. The time schedule is good. Her sincere and helpful manner could give us a good memory,
"The best way to get from Tallinn to Riga n"
Our guide Robert is a history student with very deep knowledge of the Baltic countries. He provided a clear and informative commentary at each of the stops and whilst driving. He was highly considerate of each of the passengers on the tour and we throughly enjoyed the diverse range of sites that we visited. In summary, a great way to see some of Estonia and Latvia between Tallinn and Riga!
"A great introduction to the old town!"
Our guide was very informative and entertaining. He had plenty of interesting stories to tell and gave an excellent introduction to Riga’s history. Well worth doing when you first arrive in Riga.
"Interesting way to see two countries in one day"
A cool way to see more than an airport or train station, in between Tallinn and Riga. While I love to travel by train, this bus tour made a lot more sense, gave me the opportunity to meet a local guide, as well as new friends. While we stopped a few times, my favorite two stops were the National Park and the bobsled track. Our guide Mike was great, interesting, funny, and very nice.
"Great way to travel"
An amazing day with opportunity to walk around some special places, learning about the history and people of Estonia and Latvia. The stories, songs and descriptions from the tour guide were amazing. Also great opportunity to talk to fellow travelers. This is the best way I’ve ever traveled to another city.
"Outstanding Excursion"
Great trip run by a brilliant female guide, witty, informative with a great sense of fun.
"Recommend "
Interesting and fun trip. Get to see some lovely parts of the counties that wouldn’t see otherwise.
"Wonderfull tour with a charming tour guide"
The tour was so much fun. When we started it it was 5 men and Elina, so I thought this is not going to be that interesting. Luckely all people in board were intelligent and cultures so we enjoyed conversing with each other. Elina was the best tour guide a tourist could hope for. So informed, intelligent, witty, considerate, funny and cherming. She was in a great mood to whole time. You can tell she loves doing her job. I saw and learnt so much about these 2 beautifull countries, which I could not have done on my own. This tour has evoked a desire in me to visit Estonia and Latvia again. I would recommend Traveller tours to everyone. P.S. Give Elina a raise, she deserves it.
"Beats the bus"
Intercity bus takes 4.5 hrs so half day is gone. This one takes all day but you see the castles and countryside, understand better the real Baltics, interact with the local guide. Very nice.
"Fun and Informative"
This tour was a great way to see the character of Estonia and Latvia in ways we would not have experienced otherwise.
"Good tour, but a little too much to see"
We covered a lot on this tour: Viljandi castle ruins, Military museum in Valga, Gauja National Park, Cēsis, and Sigulda bobsleigh track. This was both good and bad: we got to see a lot, but it also felt kind of rushed. I feel like cutting one of the stops, maybe the castle ruins, and spending a little more time at the military museum or Cesis might have been nice. Otherwise, it was great!
"Every which way but South"
Well done excursion. Comfortable vehicle, knowledgeable guide and interesting sites. Preferable to getting on a bus or plane and simply covering distance. Most surprising aspect? Exceptional lunch at Lili’s restaurant!
"Long Day but Full Heart"
What a wonderful way to see the countryside of the two countries of Estonia and Riga while soaking up new insights into the histories, cultures and trajectories of these two "infant countries" with rich and profound roots.
"Long Day but Full Heart"
What a wonderful way to see the countryside of the two countries of Estonia and Riga while soaking up new insights into the histories, cultures and trajectories of these two "infant countries" with rich and profound roots.
"Very interesting tour with a great tour guide"
If travelling between Tallin and Riga and vice verse this is the way to do it if you want to see some more of Estonia and Latvia away from the cities. Small groups of 8 meant it was personable and friendly.
"A lot of variety and interesting information."
Our guide, Anna, was very enthusiastic, helpful and well-informed. We enjoyed listening to her. Thank you Anna! All in all a great trip!
"Fabulous Day!"
This was a lovely, well rounded tour. We are so glad we took it. The guide was lovely and very informative.
"Perfect Day!"
This is a perfect way to travel from Tallinn to Riga and actually get to see Estonia and Latvia instead of just watching them pass by through a window. Anna was knowledgeable and informative, always making sure questions were answered or thinking of conversation starters. She made sure everyone’s needs were taken care of and was very accommodating. The sites we visited were fun and interesting. We especially enjoyed the National Park and bobsled track. Lunch was delicious as well. I would highly recommend this trip for anyone wanting to get to know the culture and history of Estonia and Latvia.
"WOW!"
Kris (Kristin) picked us up across from the Tallinn tourist office promptly at 9:00 a.m. in a brand new van which held up to eight people. As there were only five of us in this van we were most comfortable. She clearly explained the agenda and sought our input as to whether we preferred an early or a late lunch and she continued to seek our input as to the timing of things depending on how we were feeling. Kris’ English is outstanding; she’s energetic, upbeat, extremely knowledgeable, clear, honest, funny and kind. We had a wonderful twelve hours with her. Total honesty here: we could have done without the military museum as it was a bit unsophisticated, and IF you have trouble going up and down stairs or hills, this tour may be too much for you. Ask if they have a less energetic tour as we walked about 4.4 miles, 11,347 steps and climbed the equivalent of 21 floors (gotta love the iPhone’s “Health” app!). We had time for an absolutely delicious, relaxed lunch where we learned more about each other and about Estonia and Latvia. We would have said the highlight of the tour were the walks around the two castles and environs —until Chris took us to the facility where Olympic teams practice for the bobsled. For some reason, walking this track where Olympic hopefuls and champions have worked was especially impressive. My husband and I strongly recommend this company and this tour; thank you Kris.
"Castles and cliffs in comfort."
My husband, daughter and I had a fantastic day with Robert on Friday, the weather was so warm but the aircon in the van and the bottles of water from Robert made the journey pleasant despite the heat. Robert was a knowledgable and charming guide and a most attentive host. He never made us feel hurried but still managed to stick to the plan as he brought us to the fabulous sites and gave us information and insight at each one. We also found him to be a steady and capable driver and we felt very safe on our journey. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the tour and Robert as the guide. Thanks to all involved.
"for the curious!"
I'm so glad I traveled from Tallinn to Riga with this tour! Being an introvert, I'm always a little nervous about anything that has the potential to trap me in a group. But the tour was amazing: perfectly planned and executed. We saw a lot, but weren't exhausted and definitely never bored. Our guide Andres was a font of knowledge and wry jokes about Baltic history (and kiiking!): he turned a fun day into a fascinating one.
"Travel with bonus botany lesson!"
The travel from Tallinn to Riga was pleasurable and educational. Our guide, Karolis, was informative about the history of the area( and he has masters degree in Biology). Overall the trip was comfortable and we saw the countryside. We were able to connect with few others on the trip and had fun for next 3 days in Riga.
"Most fun route from Tallinn to Riga"
My partner and I were so excited when we found this unique trip between Tallinn and Riga that it quickly became a focal of our trip. The communication during the booking process was fantastic. Our guide, Kristin, was a local Estonian. It was great to have her tell us about her country as we visited some really unique and a bit more off the beaten track sights (at least for foreign tourists). I can’t recommend this trip enough.
"A VERY LONG DAY OF TRANSPORTATION"
This was one of three options for getting to Riga. Although the day was long (12 hours) it seemed like a good way to see the countryside. The guide was very nice and showed a lot of national pride in the places we stopped. Although it was nice to stop and stretch our legs, the itinerary seemed a little dull. The military museum was tired and sad, and I could have skipped the stop at the bobsled run. The small village in Latvia was interesting and I would have liked more time there to explore. One of the best parts of the day was the place we stopped for lunch. The food was authentic and very delicious. The van was ok, although it was very "cozy" with other travelers space wise. All in all, I could have skipped the tour and just taken the Lux Bus to Riga in 4 hours. Maybe some folks like it better, but it just wasn't the best option for me.
"Great journey "
Learned so much about Estonia and Latvia from our guide while traveling through these beautiful countries.
"Seeing between the cities."
We enjoyed the day. The guide was knowledgeable about the places we visited, the complex history of these countries and various questions that we asked. We would recommend this as a good way to learn as you travel and to see things between the cities that you would not on a train or intercity bus.
"Very Worth It!"
Mike was a fun tour guide and had a ton of knowledge about the history of the Baltics. He told a lot of jokes and even sang multiple times in Latvian for us. I was surprised at how quickly the 12 hour day went. All the stops were really interesting, with a good mix of city and nature, then concluding with a visit to the bobsled track. Some highlights of the day included going on a giant multi-person swing and learning the story of the Latvian "bear killer". This tour was a good chance for us to visit places that we wouldn't have had a chance to otherwise and we had a great time getting to know our fellow travellers. I would highly recommend this sightseeing tour bus, especially with Mike as your guide!
"Great day trip through Estonia & Latvia"
We really enjoyed this 12 hour bus trip from Tallinn to Riga! Would recommend to anyone traveling between the two cities. Interesting history, medieval towns and delicious lunch spot! Thanks for a great day!
"Anna was great, Informative and fun, but trip was a bit too long"
Our guide Anna was great! Very informative and fun to talk to. Enjoyed the military museum and the lunch in Valga, and the walk down the bobsled track in Sigulda. We had no idea that swinging and wife-carrying were such big sports in Estonia (or anywhere)! Could have skipped the walk in Cesis and gotten to Riga a little sooner.
"Valuable and Enriching!"
Michael, our guide and driver, was enthusiastic and knowledgable. His love for his country is infectious. I learned a lot!
"A better way to commute"
This tour makes an interesting journey of what would otherwise be a mere destination. It takes in walks through crumbling ruins, across the eroded sandstone face of a river's edge (lots of steps), down a bob sled track and through pretty villages. My only suggestion for improvement is to stop at a coffee outlet between setting out and lunch. Our guide spoke good English, was helpful and kind, and was especially concerned to fill the disparate needs of members of the group at all times. This is a great way to travel between Riga and Tallin.
"Great Journey"
Our driver/guide was Eli who entertained us all the way. She was fun, chatty and knowledgeable and of course a good driver - we chatted the whole way to Riga!
"The effective way to travel from Tallin to Riga"
The trip will have 8 persons in maximum in a big van. You can bring your big luggage together. Along the way you can visit an interesting place that it is difficult to visit by own (if you don’t drive) Guide is very friendly and she provides a good information on each place.
"Wonderful Tallin-Riga"
Nice alternative to taking boring regular bus trip. Best thing about the trip was our driver/guide Anna. Her knowledge and enthusiasm about the land and history she was taking us through was informative and inspiring.
"Fun and enjoyable"
Had a great start to the trip, our Guide, Mike, was very informative, sang some Latvian songs and happy to answer any questions we had. The drive itself was smooth. The lunch spot chosen was really nice.
"Very very good!!!!"
What can I say? A very nice guide! Fascinating places! The whole program went as we wanted !! An experience that I would gladly do again !! Difficult for me to choose the most beautiful place !!!! I still remember the fun on the big swing ;) the beauty of the castles, the charm of nature and the surprise of the bobsleigh track
"The beat way to travel between Tallin and Riga"
A really good way to travel between Tallin and Riga. Not only do you get to your next destination but you get to see some small towns, countryside, museum and a bobdleigh track on the way. Andres was a great guide giving us some real insight into the history of both Estonia and Latvia on the way.
"History filled and personal tour"
Our tour guides, but especially Anna, were amazing!! Ana talked about so much culture and history about Estonia and Latvia that spanned 100 years to present day. She covered, sports, customs, hobbies, the world wars, independence, music and dancing and not a single moment of it was boring! She spoke with so much knowledge and pride in her country and both countries trials and triumphs. It was an unexpectedly good tour that really allowed me to get more out of what I was seeing. And to use a company like this is really the best way to travel because you are still seeing and experiencing while repositioning yourself. I will definitely be on the lookout for more tours like this while I visit other countries in Europe. And all the little places we visited and the food were all phenomenal. I enjoyed it all and both towns are beautiful.
"Great informative and relaxing tour"
We had a comfortable minibus ride and walked around the historic towns of Valga, Vaidava and Cesis, as well as visiting a small military museum and Helme castle ruin, and we also had a 1-hour walk in Gauja National Park. Lunch was in a pleasant hotel restaurant. Our guide was knowledgeable about the history and ecology of each place we visited and he gave a very interesting insight into his and his family's experiences of living in Latvia and the surrounding areas.
"Tallin-to-Riga Roadtrip extrordinaire"
I'd heartily recommend the bus tour from Talliinn to Riga. The bus left right on time and the whole thing was executed very professionally. Marju, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and provided the group with interesting information about Tallinn, Riga, and points in between. She also was willing to answer any questions. We stopped at a very nice restaurant for lunch - meal was excellent. The stops at the various towns on the way were fun and informative - though I think the bobsled track could be eliminated from the tour. Recommended!
"Great Way to Get from Tallinn to Riga"
Kert was an awesome tour guide. None of the stops were staggeringly impressive, but it was a fun day nonetheless. Lunch was amazing.
"Tallin to Riga with Mike"
Nice trip with relaxing landscapes of northern lands. The guide Mikelis has been simply perfect: good driveer, nice singher, and excelent guide. The time spent during the trip an the stay has been very friendly and nice. Only the last stop in Cesis has been not so nice compared with the others
"Great day with Mike!"
We traveled from Tallinn to Riga with the sightseeing tour bus on April 25th. The pre-departure communication to confirm the reservation was very rapid: we were immediately informed as soon as the minimum number of participants was reached. We were just 4 so all the journey by van was very comfortable and pleasant. Mike was a great guide, entertaining us during the drive-time with anecdotes and curiosities but also assuring us nap-moments during longer transfers :) All the stop-overs were very interesting and has been great to see the passion and pride with which Mike told us the history of the Country and above all the conquest of independence. Everything were great, even if personally I'd liked to have more time to visit the sand cave with some additional explanation. I recommend for sure this tour, it's a good way to maximise the transfer from Tallinn to Riga, discovering and visiting places you probably wouldn't know otherwise. Thank you again Mike, you've been the icing on the cake of this tour :) kind, engaging, competent and passionate lead of the day!
"Tallin to Riga"
Excellent tour. Guide was great. Very knowledgable and funny. He gave us a better understanding of the history of the countries and their cultures. Lunch was excellent.Tour ran on time. Would recommend.
"Fun and informative "
The guide was knowledgeable on the history of Tallinn and Riga. Information was delivered in a funny relaxed manner. The day was incredible. Good mix of sights seen on the way. Highly recommend.
"Road trip across baltics"
Good way of knowing the Baltics.comfortable travel with chequered halts.Good conversation n knowledgeable guide.
"Awesome unique tour"
Really liked this tour. You can see something of the country side of Estonia and Latvia, not only Tallinn and Riga. Our guide was also really knowlegdable about both countries and she kept up with the speed of the group. She did not try to hurry us. Communication beforehand was also really good.
"You need to do this !"
I enjoyed the trip very much, not just a boring road journey from Tallinn to Riga. Our guide Laura is hilarious, knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Highly recommend.
"Our guide found a 1905 family estate"
Mikelis had a pleasant personality, and spoke excellent English, so it was very nice to spend the whole day with him. We say some interesting sites in Estonia such as the medieval castle at Viljanis and were told about its history. We also got a good general impression of the Estonian countryside. The restaurant where we had lunch was very good. We had an interesting adventure in our family history during the 1905 revolution at an estate called Ulpisch. I had not been able to find it myself, but Mikelis knew the right web-sites to locate it and took us there! We were delighted and very impressed. The day was a resounding success and very enjoyable.
"Perfect way to travel from Tallinn to Riga"
The trip became a private tour since it was just our group who was traveling that day. Our guide, Andres was very knowledgable. We skipped the Military Museum which was a downer but it wasn't their fault. It was Sunday and the museum was closed. All in all it was nice and a very good way to get to know the two countries. It was money well spent.
"Excellent way to see more of Estonia and Latvia - with added singing!"
We had an excellent time on this tour. The stops are well thought out and give you enough time to understand some of the history and cultural background of the two countries. The guide Mikelis was brilliant and kept up his energy and enthusiasm throughout the whole day, with added Latvian folk songs! Would definitely recommend this tour.
"Awesome guide "
One of the best tours I have ever been in.
"Excellent tour great tour guide"
The tour was excellent. Puntual pick uo, good itinerary, great guide, amazing visits and good doors. What’s not to like? Short answer, nothing.
"Perfect tour guide"
We joined the tour led by Liine on 6 Feb. She is so knowledgeable about the history of Estonia as well as many different jokes. We did enjoy and laugh very much! We went to Gadja National Park and saw the transquil and gorgeous scenic view of the Gadja River. We have been talking between ourselves that we were lucky and are so glad that we had made our trip through traveller.ee.
"A Wonderful Winter Tour from Tallinn to Riga"
I am glad that the tour size is small – 8 passengers. Everyone is seated comfortably in the vehicle. Andres, our driver cum guide, manages the timing well. The tour is in December and shorter day light hour in winter. Sights visitation is conducted in a good pace. We had some time to enjoy at each sights. Our tour starts around 9am. Enroute we visited Viljandi castle ruins, Teemapark Museum, Cesis, Sigulda and finally arrived Riga around 7.30pm. The best is when Andres told us we do have time to visit Sigulda bobsleigh and luge track. We are overjoyed. As we have never seen a bobsleigh before. Overall it is a well conducted tour. I really enjoyed the tour even though it is long hours of travelling. I think it is a great way to travel from Tallinn to Riga with breaks in between for sightseeing. Thanks Andres for a wonderful winter sightseeing experience from Malaysian group of four.
"Beauty "
Anna was great and explained all about the tour
"Best way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
The most fun you can have traveling from Tallinn to Riga. Our guide Andres was fantastic, not only was he very amusing but his knowledge of the local history was excellent. As a tourist I find it very good to get an understanding of the local culture and history. This tour gave you both in spades. Thank you Andres for an excellent tour.
"Fun Riga bus trip"
Great way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Nice to stop and look at some places along the way. Would definitely recommend!
"Great day discovering Estonia and Latvia"
Our journey started at 9 o'clock without any problems. I was curious about Estonian culture&way of life and Liine answered all my question with such interest. She was a great guide during all our tour. I'm glad that I choose this tour instead of a classic way to link these two capitals. I highly recommend Traveller tours and Liine ! Best regards,
"Nice overview about Estonia and Latvia"
It was a great tour with four stops in Estonia and Latvia. The fifth stop in Sigulda will not be done off-season. Nevertheless, we saw beautiful cities and landscapes. The guide Anna was very kind and told us a lot about the history and today's life in the Baltics.
"Wonderful experience"
I planned most of my trip based on the Tallinn-Riga sightseeing tour bus and it didnt disappoint. It has been the best part of my trip so far, the minivan makes it easy to talk to the guide/driver and your travel companions. Anna, our fantastic guide, has been simply wonderful, easygoing, funny and always ready to answer all our questions. She showed us places that i would have never visited on my own whilst explaining to us both everyday life in Estonia/Latvia and also their history and heritage. We had a lot of fun, an amazing lunch and an unforgettable road trip. She made such a long trip fun, easy and relevant. I cannot recommend her enough!! You have to experience it, you wont regret it!
"A great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga"
We were a group of 7 people from different countries on the day trip from Tallinn to Riga. Our driver/guide was Liine. She was so interesting, very knowledgeable and passionate about history, and had a wonderful sense of humour. She really did make the day, although a long one, a great one. She was very happy to answer questions about her country from us, and the trip was great. We would highly recommend this trip as a great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga, see some of both countries along the way, and learn a lot about the history and culture of the countries. A great job, Liine.
"Highly recommended, no doubt"
Our guider knows what she is doing. The most she enjoy, that is where come the natural as a guider. The trip was fantastic and we really enjoy it. Just the day was not really on our site, raining most of day.
"Totally Awesome!!!"
I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to have a great time! Mikelus is absolutely fabulous! Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy going. He is also a very talented singer. We visited castle remnants, a national forest, had a great lunch at a wonderful local restaurant. I would give this tour 10 stars if I could.
"Awsome Tour! Best way to travel between Riga and Tallinn!"
This tour was amazing, one of the best ones I have been on and I can recommend it to anyone who needs to get from one city to another. The stops are very interesting, the tour guide was very nice and motivated and our group (we were 6 people) was cool too. You get to know interesting people while sightseeing and traveling from A to B. Water is included as well.
"Go on this tour "
Led Bythe wonderful, passionate and interesting Anna, this was great way to travel from Tallin to Riga. Visit Medieval sites, remnants of the Soviet occupation anda bobsled tack. The surprising delight for me was a walk in the Latvin forest. The stu of fairytales. Learnt so much about the interesting history of this region.
"The best way to Go from Tallin to Riga"
You would like that the tour does not finish. Excellent service.
"A fantastic trip from Tallinn to Riga!"
We had a fantastic time during this trip from Tallinn to Riga. The guide, Mikelis, was super fun and also a true professionist. He knew very well everything about the places he showed us. He made us feel very comfortable. Anyone who has to travel from Tallinn to Riga (or viceversa) should go on this trip, instead of taking a normal bus trip, because it's really worth the time spent and the money.
"Not only a travel from Tallinn to Riga"
5 stops, each different, well picked up and very interesting. If you can see the nature, historical towns or some Soviet era past, I can fully recommend. Our gide Karolis from Lituania gave the tour a real "all-Baltic" spirit, also with his knowledge and good humour.
"Fun way to see the countryside"
The tour was fun and the guide was very good. The only part that I found un interesting and not important enough was the visit to the Bump Cars. It made the day too long, I don't think it was worthed.
"great way to travel from Riga to Tallinn or vice versa"
our tour guide was terrific: she was charming, full of information, loved her job, and always smiling and proud
"Spen a day exploring and arrive in Riga."
This is a great way to combine the practicality of getting somewhere with some sightseeing. Our driver/guide, Mike, made the day fun and interesting. The trip takes you through the countryside to places you wouldn’t be able to go to unless you had a car. Mike told us many historical facts as well as some local folk stories. All vey interesting and informative. The small size of the group meant everyone could ask and contribute.
"Great to explore"
We took the Tallinn to Riga tour, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great to meet fellow travellers taking the same Baltic tour as us. Our guide was informative at the stops, and answered any questions professionally. The only reason for a four star is we would have liked a little more commentary whilst driving through different areas, and would have been nice to have had more of a group introduction before the tour started as I have no idea of anyone's names!. Would highly recommended the tour and the company regardless though.
"Really nice way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
It is a really nice way to get from Tallinn to Riga. During the trip, you will be visiting a couple of cities on the countryside. At each city you will get a really detailed historical lesson from your guide while wandering around the nice places which is really enjoyable. Our guide even introduced some original Latvian songs to us. I really recommend this trip to you if you want to see the countryside and not only the capital cities of the Baltic area.
"great day tour to see more of Estonia and Latvia"
The tour was easy to book, but the process lacked a bit of information such as the starting and ending points, I had to enquire about these after my booking had been confirmed. We waited for the tour at the arranged meeting point and the minibus turned up on time. The guide was a good driver and the bus in good condition. The tour is really enjoyable and you get to see and learn about parts of the country you would not necessarily go to. Walking down the bob sleigh run was great and also visiting the national park for a forest walk to the river. Although the tour was nearly 12 hours long it didn't seem like it, the stops were well placed out during the day and the lunch stop was at a very good reasonably priced restaurant. The website showed lots of young people on this tour and we thought at the age of 60 we might be a bit out of the tours usual demographic, but it wasn't a problem, this tour is suitable for any age.
"Fantastic Tour"
Had a great tour guide who loved to sing.
"Best tour I’ve been on!"
This tour definitely exceeded my expectations. We had a great group of fellow travellers, and our guide Mike was amazing. Every place we stopped at, he had such a great knowledge of the history of the area, and he sang Latvian folk songs so well! My favourite parts were the National Park (stunning, where we learned a lot about Latvian nature and folklore), and the military museum (where we learned about the horrors the Baltic states faced during the 20th century, but also the resilience of the Baltic people to overcome and look to the future). The food at the lunch spot was delicious too! My only regret is I didn’t have time to book more tours with this company (especially the one to Vilnius), but there’s always next time!
"Mikelis is the best :)"
We had such a good time on our tour. Mike made it educational and fun.
"Great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga"
We were lucky with the weather and we had an excellent day
"Great way to see more of the countries"
This was a great way to see more of each country and get a fuller experience in the baltics. The stops were an interesting mix. Lunch was good. The tour guide could have had a bit more energy and volunteered more interesting facts during lunch and on the drive, but he did a good job and the different stops. Overall I'd highly recommend the experience to others.
"The best way to get from Tallinn to Riga "
We took a mini bus tour from Tallinn to Riga with a maximum of 8 passengers. It was a fun way to get to our destination. We got to stop at various sights along the way. Our driver/guide Michael was really knowledgeable and provided us with a lot of information. He was also a very safe driver. I would recommend.
"Unbelievably fantastic"
I think our guides name was Katrin? She was awesome. The most thoroughly informative tour guide in the world!!
"Great time, fantastic guide"
We loved the drive and many if the stops. Lunch was amazing. My only suggestion is that 12 hours was long, one less stop and have it finish an hour earlier and it would have been perfect.
"Fantastic day!"
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour day. The van was comfortable, the sights beautiful and best of all, our guide was knowledgable, interesting and a had great sense of humor. Highly recommended!
"Great way to travel from Tallinn to Riga"
We had a fun day mixing with other travellers and learning about the history of Estonia and Latvia from our guide Marju. Enjoyed seeing the countryside away from Tallinn and having some time in nature. For us the Military museum in Valga was very dated and not to our interest so we would have preferred more time to walk in Cesis and Viljandi, but overall the day was good.
"Loved the insights shared by Mikelis"
I had limited time so it was the best way to cover more places. Also unlike other group tours, this is in a smaller group which helped to have more personal connect. Guide had lots of interesting stories to share and ensured that no one is getting bored. Lunch place was also a very well chosen one.
"A great way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
If you are wanting to see and learn about life and history outside of the big cities in Estonia and Latvia then this tour bus is a great way to do it. We stopped in a number of villages, national parks and museums and Marju our driver and guide was fantastic with her broad knowledge and insights into life in this part of the world. Is only up to 8 passengers on the tour so easy to ask questions and we met some great fellow travellers from around the world. Highly recommended.
"Best way to travel between these two capitals"
My husband and I traveled between Tallinn and Riga spending a day stopping at interesting destinations. We had a very small group which was great for us because we were able to interact more with our guide. By sheer coincidence at one of our stops (a palace and gardens), we were able to see an opulent wedding. Great way to learn Estonian and Latvian history while traveling between these two small countries!
"Would do it again!"
Great way to get from Tallin to Riga. Andres is a perfect guide and a great driver. Stopped at lovely places and met nice folk on trip. Lunch was excellent.
"Relaxing n scenic"
Good 12 hrs day trip from Tallinn to Riga seeing the country side and with a good friendly guide cum driver.
"Good value"
Tour guide was punctual, friendly and entertaining. The tour is probably too long for the sights to be seen. The commentary was well researched and his pride in Latvia obvious. Excellent value for the money. The choice for lunch was excellent. However, we were somewhat dismayed by his manner at the trip end in Riga, just shrugging his shoulders when asked where our hotel was situated. It is the oldest hotel in Riga, his home, and a few minutes from drop off.
"fun and educational"
Karolis was a great guide who clearly enjoys his job. It was great seeing so many sites between Tallinn and Riga that I wouldn't make it to otherwise.
"Best way of spending time and money getting from Tallinn to Riga"
Intially I was going to take the train until I stumbled on this trip. I am so glad I did this. Do not let the 12 hours duration put you off. The pace was surprisingly relaxing and time flew by. The stops were well spaced out and it was good to stretch the legs from time to time. There were many options for lunch and it was delicious. Lunch was pre-ordered before we arrived so that kept us on schedule. Karolis was entertaining and knowledgeable. Our trip was slightly less than 12 hours but I didn't mind as Karolis picked up on the collective vibe of tiredness in our group of 6. He added his own personal touch which make it memorable.
"Awesome"
It was the perfect tour, taking me from Tallinn to Riga and visiting sights in between. My guide was super friendly and informative and the group was fun to converse with.
"Amazing time with a very knowledgeable guide!"
Highly recommend this trip, a great way to get from Tallinn to Riga. Andres, our driver and guide was fantastic and the other 6 people on our trip were very nice. We got to see places we would never have seen, it was very enjoyable..
"Outstanding option for travelling between Tallin and Riga"
On a short visit to Estonia and Latvia this is a fabulous way to see a bit more of the country side and towns in between. We also appreciated the opportunity of some nature walks and and excelkent lunch. Our guide Andreas was very good indeed giving us a framework of the Estonian history. We are looking forward to our journey with the group from Riga to Vilnius tomorrow.
"Fun and entertaining"
Really enjoyed this trip. Kamille was very well informed and made the trip interesting throughout. Her knowledge of Estonian and Latvian history was extensive and made more interesting by personal family recollections. Loved all the places we visited and the activities! Swinging and bob sleigh driving!
"Very interesting!"
The best way to go from Tallinn to Riga: our guide successfully involved us with historical facts and curiosities. Highly recommended!
"Wonderful trip"
It’s the best option for Tallinn-Riga trip. Laura (LT) made the journey very enjoyable. Great experience, I recommend it.
"A guide to remember "
We were incredibly lucky to have Mike as our guide. The tour was extremely well organised and it was particularly nice to be guided by someone who clearly cares about their job and is passionate about his country and the subjects he is talking about. The tour is fantastic value for money and a great way to meet other travellers. Contrary to what other reviewers have said, the hotel lunch stop has quite a good range of vegetarian options and the meal was excellent value for money. I would recommend taking some snacks though as there is a long time between lunch and the end of the tour! A long day but well worth it. Paldies Mike for all your hard work.
"fun adventure from tallinn to riga"
I really enjoy taking the train as I travel Europe but this is not so convenient in the Baltic states. Thanks to the internet, I found this option to travel from Tallinn to Riga - TravellerEE. What a fun journey, our guide/driver Mikel sang Latvian folks songs and told us lots of tales as we stopped in several wonderful locations. Clearly he is passionate about his country and his enthusiasm makes the day fly by. It's 12 hours so we got some nap time in the van between stops. We had a wonderful lunch in Valga and we ended with a colorful sunset at the bobsled place combined with hot air balloons flying close by. My fellow travelers were interesting, fun, and adventurous strangers from Italy, England and Mexico(retired Americans). All of them making the journey a wonderful memory. Looking forward to my next journey - Riga to Vilnius trip.
"Don't fly when you can take this tour!"
We had a fun group of fellow travellers who made the most of every stop. Mikelis led us in swinging, hiking, singing and eating. He is full.of history and legends and passion for his country. I learned so much about the culture and the stories behind it. Delicious lunch stop. I never would have seen all these places, had all these experiences and made new friends for a day if I had not taken this tour.
"Really enjoyable day"
Great trip with Laura from Vilnius from Tallinn to Riga . Really makes it enjoyable to be led y someone who enjoys their job so much and is extremely knowledgeable as well. You really get a much better experience and understanding of the two countries being with someone like this
"Amazing day tour"
It was a very interesting and informative day tour. Laura is an excellent tour guide and a very funny person. Overall it was an enjoyable tour.
"Tallin to Riga road trip"
Superb! She was very competent despite her short time as a guide. Thank you Laura for the great time you gave us!!
"Bubbly Laura from Lithuania"
Super driver and guide for this 12 hour tour from Tallinn to Riga. She a bag full of information on Baltic history etc etc. She tells funny jokes and was very animated.
"Laura was an amazing company and guide for our trip"
Our day was incredible and we had a lot o fun. We learned interesting datas from baltic contries. We had an amazyng tour. The best way to knwo this beatifull places. Thanks a lot for your good energy.
"Amazing Tour!!"
It was just the perfect way to travel between Tallinn and Riga!! Perfect landscapes and stops, just the perfect balance about hystory, fun facts, places, and timing. Our amazing guide Laura, was fun and enthusiastic, also very kind and helpfull! For everyone that will make a tour trough the Baltic Countries in a small time is a very nice option to do it!
"Tallin to Riga road trip"
Excellent experience. Very enthusiastic guide who takes the time to explain all the sites and also let you explore at your own.
"Two countries in one day"
A great way to get to know the Estonian and Latvian countryside, history, culture and traditions. The five stops are all really different and show the full variety the Baltic countries have to offer. I can thoroughly recommend Laura as an excellent and charming guide who never tired of answering all our questions.
"Pleasant one-day journey to discover Estonia and Latvia!"
We decided to enjoy this tour to discover something else in addiction to the main cities of Estonia and Latvia. That turned out to be the best choice, because we had the chance to visit really cool places and Laura was a really good tour guide. She was able to answer to any kind of question we asked her and they were many and about multiple topics. It was a really pleasant one-day journey experience!
"Do not miss!"
Very interesting stops where we learnt a bit about History and culture of the Baltic states. The lunch was quite good. Laura is a very enthusiastic and fun person, the day was really enjoyable. I definitely recommend this tour.
"Tour guide with a musical voice"
The tour began with an uplifting smile and laughter and ended with a satisfied and happy fellow traveler. Along the way, Laura (LT) provided history and added humor. It makes the tour interesting and not an academical subject. Why the title of a tour guide with a musical voice? At the last site, she sang to us a Lithuanian lullaby song. Maybe she should join the Lithuania Eurovision competition.😁
"Best way to go from one Baltic capital to the next"
It was a fantastic time and Laura was super energetic throughout. Loved wandering through the medieval ruins and national park. The military museum was a little bit strange but the stories Laura told which were unrelated to the museum were very interesting. Highly recommended!
"Great way to travel between Riga and Tallinn! "
I really enjoyed the sightseeing tour bus from Riga to Tallinn with Laura as our guide! It is such a fun way to travel between the two cities and a great way to learn about the history of both countries. It is also good to meet other people from different countries travelling between the two cities. Laura is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions you might have! I would definitely recommend this tour!
"Fantastic way to travel from Riga to Tallinn"
We had a great day traveling from Riga to Tallinn with Laura as our guide. She made it interesting and entertaining with her amazing enthusiasm. Thanks!
"History, countryside, nature, legends, independence"
Super enjoyable trip with the right mix of sightseeing and storytelling. Anna is a great guide and kept us engaged throughout the trip. This is a great way to get from Tallinn to Riga, and a must-do in order to get a flavour of the Estonian and Latvian countrysides, stories, histories, and generally to visit places that might not otherwise fall on your itineraries. What made the trip extra special was listening to stories the nations' independence struggle on a day that was also the Indian independence day.
"A beautiful day"
Excellent private tour from Tallinn to Riga, everything was perfect and interesting: the organization, the place we visited, the spacious minibus, the excellent restaurant, and many fun moments. Special thanks to Karolis, our guide, he is a good guide and driver and he was very helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. Regards, Marco
"Enjoyable tour "
We are a couple with a small kid and have joined the private tour from Riga to Trakai. We have followed the suggested itenerary and visited several places of Latvia and Lithuania. Our guide, Mike, is very knowledgeable and explain plenty of history and culture of both countries. We are particularly interested in the modern history of Latvia and he did share a lot his understaning and view to us. We also learnt more about Latvians and thanks so much for his singing. We can truely feel the strong cultural atmosphere of the country and the happiness of the singing nation. We do recommend to join this tour. It is not only sight-seeing but also a much better way to know more about the culture and society of the baltic areas.
"Top choice"
I've done both from Tallinn to Riga and from Riga to Vilnius and I'm really happy about my choice. Very interesting stops and our guide Kristel was very kind and professional. Really recommended.
"Wonderful tour!"
This tour was highly recommended and we are so glad went! Laura was great fun and the group was so lovely! We did the Vilnius yo Riga tour!! It was awesome!!
"A tale between two cities"
Riding with an Estonian from Estonia into Latvia is quite the humorous experience, not to mention our group became fast friends. At the end of the day we were asking where the time had gone, and considering it was a 12 hour journey-I’d say that’s quite the testament to our time together exploring ruins, swinging, and walking on a bobsled track. And would you believe as we arrived in Riga we had a large and vibrant rainbow welcoming us, you’d almost think it was a planned part of the tour.
"A Must-do Tour "
Our guide Laura was amazing. She was very passionate and knowledgeable. The tour took us to many great sights, and made me learn a lot about the two countries. No reason to hesitate if you're travelling from Tallinn to Riga.
"Catch this bus if you are travelling between the 2 cities 😃"
Excellent day with our tour guide Katerina, mini bus was spacious and it was a small group as previously stated in reviews. K taught us about the history of Estonia and interesting facts and myths of the 2 countries. There was also time for fun on the Estonian Swing, Bob sleigh track and we were lucky to be in Viljandi when the music festival was on. Being a pair of vegetarians due to animal suffering we were not keen on the restaurant due to the stuffed animals etc but take a picnic and eat in the park next to it to avoid this. Fantastic trip, lovely to hear where the other 5 travellers were from and worked etc Well worth the experience.
"Highly recommended"
This is a fantastic way to get from Tallinn to Riga. There is plenty to see on the way; all the stops are interesting. Kristel made the journey fun - she encouraged us all to have a try on an Estonian swing which was great fun. It was a hot day - water was provided and we had plenty of time to stroll around each place of interest. We liked the small group size. I can recommend Kristel - she was very knowledgable and a great guide.
"really god trip"
A nice quiet and interesting trip with a helpful and professional guide
"Excellent way to see countryside"
It was a great way to see both Estonia and Latvia in addition to the capital cities. Perfect amount of stops; walking around was great. The bus was very comfortable. Excellent lunch! Our guide was amazing, and shared a lot of information about the countries. I wish we could stop at a farm or small village to see locals. Otherwise, I highly recommend the tour to anyone!
"interessante"
Consigliato!!!
"A recommended way of sightseeing "
The tour guide was very professional and friendly. I was so impressed by the bobsleigh track in Sigulda, definitely worth seeing.
"Great guided tour with very nice staff"
I used this tour to go from Tallinn to Riga. It was really worth while doing it. We saw little villages that I could not have seen if I had only stayed in the capitals. The guide was very friendly and we stopped in a nice restaurant where we had a very nice lunch. I really recommand this guided tour. I don't remember the name of the guide (sorry). She was Lituanian and very nice.
"Good way to see the countryside of Estonia and Latvia"
It was an interesting tour and I was fascinated by the countryside, small town and heritages of both countries! Anna was a great tour guide that she is very knowledgeable in both Esotina and Latvia cultures. She can tell you a lot of very interesting local stuffs. The whole tour would be perfect if we could have more time on each site.
"interessante "
"Amazing & Efficient Tour"
I would highly recommend this tour as it accomplishes a lot in quite a short period of time all the while being transported from one city to another. It is perfect for the traveler who is short on time, and quite frankly I’d suggest this tour as the best means of transportation from Tallinn to Riga or between any of the Baltic capitals. Our tour guide, Anna, was amazing and knowledgeable, had a great sense of humour and really made the trip enjoyable.
"Road to Riga"
An absolute must if you choose to travel between Tallinn and Riga. Our guide, the lovely Catlin, was so knowledgeable on the history of the Baltics and we were informed, and entertaining, along the way. Don’t be put off by the thought of 12 hours in a mini bus. We were on the road for about 5 hours as the trip was broken up with stops at towns (look out for strawberries), a museum, a beautiful stroll in a country park with a magnificent lunch in a hotel (complete with some interesting wildlife!). We suggest you try the wild boar main course if you’ve never had it before. You will arrive having learned so much more about Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania than you would have from a train or plane window. 10/10 from us.
"The best way to travel from Tallin to Rīga "
A nice way to discover both Estonia and Latvia in a day trip. Interesting points to stop over and excellent guide - Anna !
"Amazing way to get to know Estonia and Latvia"
The alternative to this 12-hour tour ride for myself, my wife and our 9-year-old was the 4.30h simple big bus one that covers the distance between Tallinn and Riga. The big bus would be a waste of our time and we were very happy that we chose the day tour. We got to know so much of the history of Estonia and Latvia and see great locations. Our guide, Anna, was always so nice, energetic and peaceful at the same time. We really thought it is amazing such a young girl shows this much responsibility, pride and excitement for what she is doing. Even my non-English speaking 9-year-old daughter was always interested in what she was saying and could communicate through smiles. Thank you!
"Best way to come from Tallinn to Riga"
Very nice tour with interesting stops and many facts about the history of Estonia and Latvia.
"interesting itinerary through the history of a country"
Triin made us visit significant places, telling in a touching and ironic way the history of her country
"Travel tour Tallinn Riga"
Kathy was an excellent guide and explained very well all the beautiful sites we visited
"Nice trip"
It was a nice trip with a nice guide. He had a lot of stories to tell with a great bunch of knowledge. In our opinion maybe sometimes a bit too much information. For example in Gauja NP we would have liked to hike on our own instead of getting a guided tour. Furthermore the tour was too long for us. The last destinations were not that interesting to us anymore. It would be nicer to arrive in Riga earlier (6/7 pm) and skip 2 destinations.
"Nice tour"
Beautiful tour. All perfect.
"Exploring the Baltics with Katlin"
Our guide, Katlin, was super friendly and knowledgeable. She brought a lot of energy to the excursion and wove in stories from her own family to help bring the history alive for us. She helped us learn the Estonian sport of swinging! Even during the driving, she shared helpful information and projected her voice well so that people in the back of the van could hear her clearly. I found the stops on this tour a bit less interesting and enjoyable than the stops on the tour from Riga to Vilnius. Nothing to do with the guide -- it's just what was available to see on each tour.
"The best way to travel from Tallin to Riga"
If it is your first time from Tallinn to Riga (or the opposite), I highly recommend that you take this tour bus. It is well planed, so the stops are in the most interesting places of the route. There are places that you should spend a lot of time to visit and probably you would need a car. The guide/driver, Laura, was super friendly and answered all our questions, making the whole driving experience more pleasant. It was an excellent experience. Totally recommended.
"But really, this is what travelling is all about..."
It's a no-brainer. Completly worth your money if you are to travel between the two baltic countries capitals. Taking this tour bus is a great idea and concept, and I can only imagine how boring would it be to travel from Tallin to Riga (or vice-versa) before this option was available. This is what travelling is all about. Meeting other like minded travellers, discovering such different places as a military museum, a beautiful forest or a medieval city, listening to interesting stories and legends about local folklore, and overall making good use of your time! The tour guide was kind, amiable and also hilarious (Thank you Karolis!). I couldn't expect more. I had a great time and arrived at my destination on time and with a day full of good experiences. Surely an option to try again if the opportunity arises.
"All good"
I really don't know what you could do better, and our guide was exceptional
"Best choice for travelling"
Professional and good staff, we received many and interesting information all over the way. Nice views
"Don't miss this bus"
We were hoping to see more of the Baltic countries and gain an insight into the people of this region and we were not disappointed! Our very capable and friendly driver/guide Anna was very knowledgeable and the stops were weĺl thought out and evenly spread out during the day. We both thoroughly recommend this company for a very enjoyable and interesting way of travelling between Tallinn and Riga. In fact we will be travelling with the same company and with Anna again tomorrow on the Riga/Vilnius leg!
"What an adventure!"
Our guide was very resourceful. He was full of interesting information that he shared with us along the way. His wide ranging background really added to our experience. He was able to give us insightful comments on the geology, geography, social history, and ecology of the Baltics as we went along. It added greatly to our Baltic experience. The lunch food and venue was stunning. In addition, our guide shared some local foods with us. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour, with no reservations!!
"Fun way to see more than just the cities "
Absolutely great tour guide from Estonia who was studying history and therefore had great knowledge and lots of fun facts and jokes, also a very good driver and I felt very safe in her car. Well air conditioned and comfy minibus. Interesting stops and it was nice to eat lunch as a group, although lunch was quite late. Arrived to Riga on time. Maybe it would have been better to have had more independence at some of the stops so we could have gone off and explored further if different members of the tour walk at different paces. Would have preferred to have explored valga instead of going to the museum
"A fascinating day in Estonia and Latvia"
So glad we took this tour to Riga. The whole experience was fun from start to finish. The only disappointment was that we didn't book onto the Riga to Vilnius trip as well.
"Hilarious and informative "
While some of the information from Lahemma was repeated for this tour, we thoroughly enjoyed this trip with Andres who made it even more interesting. Perhaps there should be an 8hr option instead of of 12, as not all the sites were of equal value.
"Good option of getting from Tallinn to Riga"
We decided to take this day tour from Tallinn to Riga so we could see sights along the way but also save time. Mikeliswas a great driver and guide and gave us plenty of information along the way at stops. We had 7 in our van and decided not to stop at tge Bobsled to get to Riga in time. Mikelis also entertained us with his Latvian singing. We would recommend this tour but please be aware it is 9am to 9pm.
"Excellent Tour and Way to Travel from Tallinn to Riga!!"
I highly recommend this tour! Our guide Karolis was terrific... Excellent, safe driver, and very passionate about his work. I loved the sandstone cliffs and forest walk, as well as the stops in the medieval cities and the walk down the bobsleigh track! As other reviewers have stated, do not let the 12-hour length of this tour keep you from signing up for the experience. The time flies with the interesting stories from the guide and the wonderful stops. Unforgettable day!
"A fascinating route between Tallinn and Riga! "
This tour was an incredible way of learning more about both countries as well as seeing sights you just would not have been able to see otherwise. Highlights include the cliff walk with steps (taken at a gentle pace), the historical towns and the final stop at the bobsleigh track! Our guide was fantastic - very knowledgable and able to answer all our questions. It was a pleasure to have been on his tour. We have taken away some amazing memories!
"Very interesting, intriguing and pleasant!"
The guide (Katrin) was very well informed about Histroy, places, folklore, etc. of the places we've been. We strongly suggest to do this tour, 'cause it's for sure the BEST WAY to travel form Tallinn to Riga, learning new things & seeing interessting places. And it's cheap!!
"What an Impressive culture tour it is."
The guide was very professional to tell the history of Art Nouveau architectures in Riga, it really makes me impressed. Each building is so unique and all of them are mixture styles. If u want to go sightseeing outside of the riga old town, u must attend the excellent walking tour; if u r interested in architectures and aesthetics, it's the best reason for u to attend it!
"Informative and fun trip from Tallinn to Riga "
This trip was a great way to see and get a better feel of Estonia and Latvia other than only visiting the capital cities. And if you get Juri as a guide, he can answer any question about any subject past and present related to the two countries. He is a wealth of information; proud and passionate about his country. Very personable too. Really had an enjoyable day/trip with him.
"Laura made our day"
It was a great tour! We are glad to have chosen this kind of travelling from Tallinn to Riga. We got to know locations we wouldn´t have seen otherwise. It was very touching to hear about the history of the Baltic States in Valga, interesting to discover the walls of Viljandi castle and fascinating to walk through the streets of Cesis. We loved the stories, Laura told, and her lullaby for the ESC! Thank you, Laura - for this interesting and entertaining day!
"Great atmosphere and informative tour"
Getting to know all about the Baltics' history and culture. Our tour guide Kamile is really enthusiastic about and have a background in the Baltics culture, therefore gave us really informative stories. The tour involved some walking around, but it wasn't tiring, and the lunch was great!
"Discovering the bits in between the cities "
Interesting, long day with enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. Good food, vehicle and safe driving.
"A Great Way to See the Countryside"
Jüri was our driver and my wife and I had a great time during our day trip. He was very knowledgeable about both countries and the history of the area. There was plenty of water (very helpful because of the hot weather) and he was an excellent driver. Would highly recommend! My wife and I have been traveling the world full time for more than three years and he may have been the most knowledgeable tour guide we've ever had.
"Interesting and entertaining tour!"
My daughter and I are so glad we took the tour! We would have otherwise missed out on amazing locations/towns and interesting spots that we would’ve never thought to visit. Linne, our guide, was amazing! Such a bright and fun personality and she had a wealth of information to share. We learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the route and all of the places we stopped to visit. We highly recommend this tour!
"Funny alternative to direct bus travel!"
Hong-Kong, Phillipines and Germany in one bus for 12 hours and we had fun right from the beginning! Learn something about history of the Baltics while travelling from Tallinn to Riga and see towns, castles and nature park! Karolis our guide was wonderful, drove carefully, took good care of us and gave interesting information on every stop while not boring us with lectures and knowledge. Just perfect, strongly recommended! Thanks!
"Fun way to travel to Riga"
This tour is a great way to not only travel from Tallinn to Riga, but also see something of Estonia and Latvia on the way! The tours are done in small groups, so it is quite a personal experience (you're not a sheep in a herd of tourists!) and you have plenty of opportunity to ask all the questions you may have about the two countries. Our guide really knew her stuff and her guiding was very informative and well-done. We stopped at two picturesque small towns, some ruins, a national park, a military museum and a bobsleigh track - a diverse mix that gives you a little overview over the countries! I felt I was in good hands and will highly recommend this tour to friends and colleagues.
"Très intéressant et inattendu !"
Je recommande ! Merci à notre guide Mike, pour ses informations, sa disponibilité et sa grande gentillesse !
"Tallinn-Riga with Karol"
It was very nice and a very efficient way of traveling from Tallinn to Riga. The stops were very interesting and it was a great way for tourists to see other parts of the country and not only the capital. Karol, our guide was extremely nice and very friendly and looked after us very well. Highly recommend!
"Wow !"
Great experience.A lot to take in. I hope we have the correct name. Our guide was first rate.He worked very hard.Anne &Michael
"Best option from Tallinn to Riga"
We have booked this tour and are really very happy about this decision. The tour offers a maximum of travelling experience for a reasonable price and thus provides you with value for money. Our guide Laura was very capable and friedly and did a great job to make this tour memorable. The interesting stopovers, the good lunch, the timing, everything was very well organised. All in all, a perfect way to travel from Tallinn to Riga 😀
"Such a fun ride!"
The trip was a lot of fun. I love running around old castles and this provided not one but two such stops!
"Fun way to transit "
Stopped by a few otherwise would have been cumbersome to see spots along the way. Viljanda and Cesis were my favourite!!
"Friendly driver Kert.. "
Friendly, good food on the way., pleasant journey 🎉
"Great trip!"
Great way of getting from Tallinn to Riga, really enjoyed seeing the countryside and especially the mini hike in the national park. Kert was lovely, full of fascinating information and very friendly, he made every effort to let us take nice photos en route. Excellent food at the lunch stop! Thank you
"History and fun"
Good company, interesting places to visit, knowledgeable guide. Great way to travel between Tallin and Riga
"Great experience, worth taking"
Great tour. A really nice way to get between Estonia and Latvia. The tour guide deserves a special shoutout for adding a lot of character and history to all of our stops. I would highly recommend it!
"Nice way to make the transfer between Tallinn and Riga"
It's absolutely a fun way to make the trip between Tallinn and Riga! We had a nice guide which told us a lot about the countries and their history.
"Road to Riga what a Rippa!"
What a great little tour, organised by a lovely professional company. We travelled on the Tallinn to Riga Day Tour and had the amazing Kristel as our guide. It was a small group tour of 8 people which was awesome. Although the distance travelled was a long way (12 hours) we were able to see the countrysides of Estonia & Latvia a long the way with great stops on route to give you a great taste of this amazing area. Kristel's knowledge was as good as her friendly nature and she was only to happy to answer any questions you had. The lunch stop was delicious and reasonably priced. Bonus that you fitted in our luggage as we were travelling one way. Thank you again for a great day and great service. Cheers Karen & Lauren
"Great way to see outside the Cities"
The tour was a great way to see what is outside of the tourist areas of Tallinn and Riga. We had several stops where we could get out of the van and learn about the history of the region culturally and politically. We were also able to stop and pick up farm fresh strawberries for the van which were delicious. In reading other comments that were a bit hesitant on the variety of food from the restaurant I found that to be misleading. The restaurant offered several vegetarian options and with notice could make other items without meat. The food was very good and a great stop. We particularly liked the walk through the forest and the bobsled track. We would highly recommend this trip to those interested.
"Riga to Tallinn with Kamile"
We took a tour between Riga and Tallin and Kamile was our tour guide, bus driver and our walking talking purveyor of information. We had a great time on this tour and would recommend it to everyone. Kamile comes from the area and has great insight and personal connection which really put things in context. The stops were perfect covering a bit of everything you would want to see history, nature, good food and bobsleighs. We had a lot of fun learning about the area and the time slipped by without even realising. We would like to thank Kamile for the great time we had during the tour.
"Best way to travel between Tallinn and Riga"
Fantastic trip, informative, quirky, fun. The trip was made by our guide Kamile - she was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, interested (and interesting), responsive to people's needs. And a superb driver. Yes there is some (well a moderate degree) of walking but all easy. Leave plenty of room for the lunch stop
"Best way to travel south"
Taking this tour was a great decision, we learned a lot about both countries and arrived comfortably. Marju was a great guide and knew how to answer all our questions.
"Great Tour"
We did two tours with Tallinn Traveller Tours: the one to Lahemaa National Parc and the Tallinn-Riga-Tour. We enjoyed both tours very much. Our guides Alfred and Krsstel were very nice and knowledgable, and the stops are a great combination between nature and culural sightseeing. It's a quite relaxed way to see a bit of the country since someone else is doing the driving and planning. We would definetly recommend both tours.
"Fantastic"
We had a great time! Triin was exceptional. Her enthusiasm and knowledge helped us enjoy our experience. We would highly recommend this to all!
"Loved it"
We had a great time with Laura. She really impressed us with her level of knowledge.
"Charming, knowledgeable guide"
Wonderful ride/tour from Tallin to Riga. On time, interesting stops, and very educational. Excellent guide. Worth the time.
"Best way from Tallinn to Riga "
What an amazing day, Laura was fantastic in her knowledge about all of our stops and the Estonian history and always had answers whilst make into the whole day fun and entertaining, cannot recommend enough
"Wonderful Guide"
We had an incredible journey with a personable highly knowledgeable guide Laura. Would recommend this tour to others.
"Laura was great"
I took the Tallinn to Riga tour on July 12, and guide Laura was great. She provided lots of great insights into the five stops we had. I highly recommend taking the sightseeing tour from Tallinn to Riga (or vice versa) if you are going that way and have some time. This is a concept that should expand throughout Europe and even the world. Usually, with a day tour, you end up in the same place you started. It's like a two for one, being able to take the day tour and also reach your destination.
"Amazing trip with great hotspots on the road"
Out trip from Tallinn to Riga wad amazing. In fact it was just a way to get from A to B in the first place, but little did we know it would be such a great experience. We saw a lot of great places and the enthusiastic Laura told us some great stories about both Estonia and Latvia. Thanks Laura!
"Best way to travel"
We totally enjoyed this travel - a small group of kindred travellers, an expert guide and time to view sights and learn detailed history and perspectives from a local.
"Tallin to Riga"
From Riga to Vilnius we booked a private tour. This allowed us to visit sites we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Our exceptional guide, Laurynas, took us to amazing locations, treating us like friends the whole time. We asked him questions and he asked us questions. The experience was a mutually connecting cultural exchange. He shared local folk music, local foods, and a playlist to match the sites. Thank you for showing us around the country.
"Tallin to Riga"
Kamile treated us to a special tour of local sites. The restaurant served excellent local cuisine. She made suggestions to match our tastes. She enjoyed telling us the history of the country. The military muesum might appear "cheesy" but look closer, and realize the context.
"Nice trip with a lot of information and beautiful places!"
It was nice to do the trip with a small group and stop at beautiful places you otherwise wouldn’t see if you are just travelling by normal bus. I know a lot more of the country thanks to this and off course thanks to Anna. She really knows a lot and is comforting everyone so we all could have a trip to remember!
"Best way to see Estonia and Latvia"
We did the private tour from Tallinn to Riga. It was the best way to see everything in between the two cities. From quaint little towns to lush forests. The amazing sceneries along the journey was eye opening and most importantly. Kamile our lovely driver/guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Absolutely highly recommended and opt for the private tour option should budget allows.
"Great way to travel from Tallinn to Riga"
This 12 hour journey from Tallinn to Riga is the best way to travel between the 2 cities if you are not in a hurry. The pace of the trip is quite easy, there are a lot of stops (5 in all if my memory serves well), so you don't stay too much at once in the minivan. All the stops are cool and in each of them Anna told us lots of things about them and the history of the 2 countries. She was an excellent driver, enternainer and story teller, as well as group photographer. We have some really nice moments that took place during the trip that we'll remember for a long time.
"Much more interesting way to get from one city to another"
Some interesting stops. All nice, interesting stops with a variety of things to see - nature, ancient history, more recent history. The food at lunch was good too! Our guide, Anna was very friendly and accommodating.
"Fun and imformative"
Great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga. It is beautiful country side and there are some great old towns and castle ruins to see. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, she made the day very fun.
"Great tour all the way"
The tour is really nice. Andres is very knowledgable about the Estonian area and the history and he has a lot of funny little joke and story to keep us entertained. The locations the tour took us on the way is also quite interesting and we would never know of such interesting places if not for the tour. 5/5, you will definitely get your money worth with this tour.
"Best and most fun way to get from Tallinn to Riga"
Jaan was a terrific guide. He’s from Estonia and knew so much history. He accommodated everyone on the tour and was so gracious. We saw sights I’d never have seen on a regular bus. I especially liked Cēsis and the Soviet era bobsled track. Also spending a half day with people from all over the world and then eating lunch with them was also a brilliant experience. Worth every penny.
"Amazing tour"
We booked this tour primarily to get from Tallin to Riga. Little did we know it would be one of the best days of our trip. Triin was so enthusiastic, funny and entertaining. She made the trip seem short. We stopped at many places we otherwise would never have seen. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Triin!
"Brilliant sights, great guide, wonderful day"
This was a highlight of our trip. Kristel was fantastic, & extremely knowledgeable. Pleasant company on the tour, great lunch & seeing some excellent sites (13th century castles, military museum, baltic countryside, etc.) worked a treat for us.
"Cēsis, National Park and Bobsledding!"
We loved seeing the beautiful town of Cēsis, going to the National Park and the Bobsled training facility. The only negative was, while our guide was very nice, he seemed very inexperienced, his stories wander a quite a bit, and he was only able to answer pretty basic questions. He should definitely have given us an overview of the day at the beginning of the day and let us know how much time it was going to take to get to the next destination.
"Great way to travel from one city to another"
The journey started promptly at agreed time,. There were three other travellers on the tour from Texas besides me and my partner. Our guide was Karolis who was very attentive, informing us about places we stopped and answering questions about culture, history etc. We stopped an old town with great views over a river, at a museum of military vehicles, , walked around a medieval town which was preparing for a festival, walked to limestone cliffs by a river In woods which was lovely as it was a hot day and lastly visited a toboggan run, being able to walk down the top section. We stopped for lunch in a pleasant restaurant having preordered our food which was tasty and reasonably priced. All together we had a fun and interesting day, visiting places we wouldn’t have seen if caught a direct bus and able to chat to other travellers. A brilliant day with a great guide.
"Go the easy way"
A good trip south to Riga with a bunch of like people. Great lunch too.
"Excellent"
We were so pleased with our guide, admired her knowledge and sense of humour.
"Best way to see Estonia and get Riga all in one go!"
Loved our trip. Anna was very knowledgeable and made the day interesting and fun. My favourite was the walk through the forest to see the sand cliffs and wild Blueberries growing.
"Excellent Tour if the Baltics "
Karolis was great. Knowledgeable, funny, engaging. And he is an excellent driver. The itinerary was well balanced in terms of types of activitues and number. Thanks for the adventures!
"Knowledgeable & efficient"
Olga was great. She efficiently took us through Riga old town covering all the important parts while customizing the tour to our particular interests. Thank yoi Olga!
"See the countryside en route to Riga"
There is a lot to see in between Tallinn and Riga. It was a long day, but well worth it. We enjoyed quaint towns, castle ruins, sandstone cliffs, and even a bobsleigh track. Our guide, Mike, took good care of us.
"Eclectic insight. Loads of fun."
Our driver and tour guide Anna was friendly, enthusiastic, passionate and very knowledgeable about the region from Tallinn to Riga. We loved the history, the views and all the stops along the way. Especially the town of Cesis, the walk to the white sandstone cliffs and down the bob sled. Thank-you for a great day.
"We loved this tour! Wonderful guide"
This was such a fantastic way to travel from Tallinn to Riga, while seeing sights in between. All these sights were locations we had heard about, but ones that we could not conveniently visit on our own. This tour gave us a little bit of time at all of them, all while learning from our guide about history and about her country, Latvia. Would recommend this tour to anyone!
"Fun way to spend a day of travelling"
Tour was well organized from the greeting at Tallinn to the guide and the car. Enjoyed learning about the history of this part of the world. The 5 stops were well placed and informative. My favorite was the town of Ceres and the stop at the bob track. Lunch was at a great restaurant and the selection and quality of the lunch was top class. Our guide Karel/Karolis (not sure I spelled this correctly!) from Lithuania was great and had nice stories about the history of the Baltic countries. Definitely a highly recommended trip!
"Amazing way to go to Riga!"
I am so glad that I found this tour to travel from Tallinn to Riga. It not only brought me to Riga but also showed me several beautiful places on the way, especially the national park!! I love it so much!! my tour guide was Anna, she was so energetic for the whole trip, super friendly to everyone and very knowledgeable for the history. I would definitely recommend her and this tour!!
"THIS is the tour/SHE is the guide"
The tour from Tallinn to Riga was very well conceived. It covered many miles yet had frequent stops of historical-cultural significance to break up the distances covered. Why not just hop on the bus? Because you would not see the bee caves. You would not learn about Nazi and then Soviet occupations and atrocities. You would not share a lovely lunch with Kristel, the guide from heaven. She drives the van very safely, she understands her subject, and she intuitively knows her clientele. What a marvelous eye-opening way to learn about Estonian and Latvian history and culture. Okay, I got the tour; I got the experience AND still I would go again. Please don’t miss this opportunity. We are from Santa Cruz, California and are not impressed easily. This one nailed us.
"A fun bus ride"
This was a great way to get to Riga. I got to see several places I never would have stopped if I had rented a car and learned a ton more! The guide was super fun and I really enjoyed meeting the other people.
"Too soon"
We started the tour late in the day hence we didn’t get to go to quite a few places. However the places we went to were nice and enriching.
"Good way to turn a bus ride into a colorful one"
We learned a lot about the history of the Baltic states, and we felt it more personal as our guide Anna shared her family stories during the Soviet times and German occupation. Overall we had a great time and I did not regret taking this tour!
"Very pleasant"
We've stop at very interesting places. I felt I needed half and hour more in Viljandi to explore the village
"Great Way to Experience Something Out of the Ordinary"
What an interesting adventure! I never would have seen any of the places that we went to if it weren't for this tour. Definitely consider it if you are traveling between Riga and Tallinn. Beats the train and bus every day.
"Good Sights and way to meet people"
Nice to meet friendly people traveling and to also learn the history of Estonia during this adventure.
"Tallinn to Riga— great experience! "
We loved our tour from Tallinn down to Riga! We were able to see and learn so much which would not have been possible if we had just gone directly between the cities. Our guide, Marju, was wonderful— very sweet and knowledgeable about the area. We loved the variety of stops— highlights were giant swing and bobsleigh! We also liked the different small towns and the National Park walk! Thanks for a great experience and giving us the chance to learn more about these two countries. We really didn’t know much about this region before we came and this tour opened our eyes to a lot! Thanks!
"Super fun way to get to Riga"
We had a wonderful trip with our excellent guide who was knowledgeable and humorous in equal part. Saw lots of interesting countryside and places you wouldn’t normally see when just visiting big cities
"See The Countryside"
The sightseeing tour bus from Tallinn to Riga was very enjoyable and allowed us the chance to see more of Estonia and Latvia than just emerging in the big cities. It also allowed us the chance to spend a day with a very good guide, Kristel, and ask questions while enjoying the views and sights. My wife and I would definitely do this again.
"A great big family trip "
We booked a private tour for 12 people and we had Heleena and Anna as our guides. They were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable throughout the tour. We had enough time to take pictures and the tour was very relaxed. Thanks so much for the great tour.
"A Cool Way To See Rural Estonia & Latvia"
I really enjoyed the day trip from Tallinn to Riga. There was a lot of driving involved but it was a lot preferable to getting a flight. Really enjoyed the hike through the National Park and being able to walk down the bobsleigh track!
"A Whirlwind Trip"
We had such a fantastic time on our tour! We saw so much more of Estonia and Latvia than would have been possible otherwise, learnt a lot about the region’s history, thanks to our guide Triin, and found the experience a wonderful one.
"Great way to travel between cities"
We had a private tour with 5 adults and 3 children. The tour was interesting, but did lack a little pizazz. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, but it felt more like a transportation service than a guided tour. The mini-van was really too small for the size of our group, and it was not as clean as I would have expected. I would, however, recommend this trip as a great way to get from Tallinn-Riga! Much more interesting that any other form of travel, and more intimate than a big bus tour. Overall we were satisfied with our trip, we’d just have enjoyed it more with a bigger vehicle and more enthusiasm from our guide.
"A Great tour ever!"
Anders was super nicely guided this tour. Highly recommended:) don't miss it
"Anna is amazing "
Though I can’t say I thought the stops we made were terribly worth seeing (as opposed to just taking a direct bus), it was still a fun day, largely because our guide, Anna, was so lovely. She clearly loves her home country of Latvia, and it was a pleasure to learn about it from her. She made the bus ride as fun as possible, and was an excellent driver. If you don’t have much time and would like to see more of Estonia and Latvia besides the capitals, this is a nice option
"Tallinn to Riga with a Baltic Dip"
Collect by Kert and Ian in Tallinn, two really nice guys who were so easy to talk to . They told us about the history of Latvia and Estonia and everything inbetween. It was a beautiful day and the guides brought us to Parnu and we did some shopping , had our lunch and later went swimming in the Baltic... Amazing. We made the most of our last day and we were dropped off at the Riga airport , happy and satified that we got to see so much.
"Amazing"
We enjoyed our trip. The guide was amazing and gave insights of all the places enroute. Totally recommend.
"Definitely a tour worth to take!"
Andres is such a humorous and wonderful guide. We enjoyed listening to history from him, very inspiring. Also we had a ridiculously tasty lunch. This tour is packed with unsurpassed natural beauty and historical sites. We had so much fun and glad that we had visited many picturesque places on our way from Tallinn to Riga!
"whole day tour from Tallinn to Riga"
We are a group of 4 pairs and booked a full day tour with traveller tours from Tallinn to Riga. Our driver was Andres and the bus was pretty new and comfortable. The drive included some stops on interresting places , like ruins, old castle, museeum , cliffs a.s.o.. when we arrived in Riga we were already tired from the long drive. Andres was a very good driver and guide .
"Great van tour from Tallinn to Riga"
We really enjoyed our tour with Marju. She is very knowledgeable, friendly and provided great information on history as well as authentic experiences and tips as a local. I was not sure if I would enjoy the tour since it is about 11-12hours in and out of a van, but it turned out to be a nice way to get to Riga, plus you get to visit some nice places along the way.
"Great tour with great guide"
Did the tour on 28th with Marii (I think), who's a history student. The tour was great, she was very informative at every site, drove safely, and gave us a lot of information. Would recommend this tour again.
"Great trip from Estonia to Latvia "
This is a great idea and really fun. Laura was our tour guide and mini bus driver too ! We stopped off at a few places along the way ; my favourite was the restaurant which served amazing food ! I would definitely recommend this tour but please please please invest in a mobile phone holder for your driver so they can keep both hands on the wheel and not have to hold the phone whilst driving. Otherwise fantastic!
"awesome guide"
I rarely leave reviews, but want to give a shout out to Katlin who was just awesome. She was warm, funny, informative, and a total pro. In terms of the itinerary itself, I thought the military museum and/or the bobsleigh track could have been scratched in favour of having a bit more free time in Cēsis.
"Fun and informative"
I got to see places in Estonia and Latvia that I would not have seen had I flown or taken a regular intercity bus. Our driver/guide, Liine, was pleasant and knowledgeable, a very enjoyable tour and great value for money!
"Unique Places, Beautiful Landscapes!"
This was a very unique experience, taking you to locations the average traveler would never see. Though I really enjoyed the tour guide, absolutely wonderful, since I did not have a lot of time to see Tallinn and Riga (only 4.5 days), I don't know if I would recommend this tour for someone on a tight time frame. The sites are pretty, especially the first one in Viljandi, but after that are a little nondescript. Certainly a great tour if you love quaint, little towns!
"Great way to see the parts between the capitals on your way!"
Great tour, amazing information about the history and area. Really gave me a better understanding of Estonia and Latvia than just passing by the capitals.
"Castes and caves, and a ghost"
What a fun tour. It was 12 hours long but didn’t feel like it at all. Lots of castles, and museums and a national park. Oh, and a bobsled track!
"Saw a lot, but awkward guide"
This was a pretty full day of travelling. I didn't find it tiring, and was really happy to be on a minibus with other travellers. We saw so much in the day and I really loved this aspect of it. If you were going to do this alone, it would take a few days, so in that sense it's good value for money. The guide was very awkward. Didn't make effort to bring the group together, get to know any of us, and wasn't really very knowledgeable when asked questions. We were rushed around a lot, and we arrived in Riga about 2 hours ahead of schedule. I think this trip needs a lot of work
"Was able to see everything despite getting a flat tire!"
We had Andres as our guide. He was knowledgable and friendly. It was great having a mini tour at each stop with a proper tour guide. At one point the van started beeping and he said it beeps all the time but we should stop to check it - and it really was a flat tire! After changing it, I think we were still able to fit in all the planned stops. This is by far the best way to get from Tallinn to Riga. It’s so good I’m doing the same trip from Riga to Vilnius! Don’t worry if the trip has it been confirmed, they said quite often people sign up last minute, so hang in there! Someone on our trip book it months in advance and they only got the minimum number needed for the trip the day before the trip!
"epic city transfer"
love it, got to paddle in a river and walk down part of a bobsleigh track!
"What a great tour!"
We only had a week to explore and this tour was the perfect way to see more of Estonia and Latvia, learn more of the history and meet great people! Liine was fanstastic and we had so much fun! Definitely recommend this tour.
"I didn't want it to end!"
It was a good day. The guide was smart, funny, and very beautiful. I will be visiting Daugavpils tomorrow to see the Rothko Museum and view works by the well-known Latvian/American artist; all on her suggestion! I am curious as to what other tours you offer. Thanks...it was fun.
"Nice tour for a good price"
I liked very much the tour. We had almost a little bit of everything and the lunch was really good. If I could change some things about the tour, I would like to see more about Latvia's and Estonia's traditions - from cooking to artcrafts, etc... Those curious traditions, diferents from other countries traditions. Marju is someone who can envolve everyone in the tour. She is very polite and secure of what she is talking about and always trying to make everyone feeling confortable. I've worked as a tourist guide before at Oporto (Portugal) and sometimes it was quite difficult to envolve everyone... Important thing: We didn't got late to anywhere. Everything was made on time without 'running'. I would recomend this tour to a friend.
"Very flexible and suitable for a relaxed day"
A pleasant way to explore Estonia and Latvia country side. We had 6 adults , 2 kids and 14 luggages. We found the pacing and the stops are quite appropriate for the 5-hour driving time.
"Surreal road trip."
Great guide (Andres), fun sights and tons of snow!
"One way ride to Mazsalaca"
We travelled from Tallin to a small town in Latvia’s north, Mazsalaca. 5 of us and our guide Liine through a wintery, dramatic landscape. It was one of the best trips ever because as we drove Liine gave us a history lesson that was so wonderful and clear and interesting that even the teenagers were enthralled. Suddenly we were no longer just in a bus, we were part of the crusades or part of the war. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we looked at the world around us with new eyes. I would have gladly turned around and done the trip once more that same day. That’s how good it was. Thank you so much Liine and your wonderful company, I can not recommend you highly enough. Simply brilliant .
"Tallinn to Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus"
Stumbled on this trip while planning our route from Tallinn to Riga. Friendly staff for booking. Kert was our tour guide. He was charming and extremely knowledgable and passionate about culture and history of Estonia and Latvia. This was a very long day but totally worthwhile! Saw some sights we would never see usually. I would recommend this tour as a great way to travel between Tallinn and Riga. Kert for tour guide of the year!!
"Incredible tour company!!!"
I went with three other friends and we booked the Tallinn-Riga and the Riga-Vilnus tours with this company and it was incredible! 2 fantastic days with amazing and fun guides. If you are travelling through the Baltic states I cannot recommend this enough. It really gives you an insight into the three countries.
"Not good value"
We took this tour with the expectation that we would see more of Estonia and Latvia. With the exception of Cesis, what we saw was disapointing. Viljandi was underwhelming, sandstone cliffs were disappointing, and military museum was a waste of time. Segulda could have been great if we could have taken a bobsled down the ramp. We would have paid extra for this, but it was not an option. Cesis was very nice, but we were rushed through it. Laura was enthusiastic, but carried the rivalry with the other Baltic countries too far. We regret not taking a direct bus.
"Terrible guide, expected more for the price"
First and foremost, our guide/driver was a dreadful driver. She wasn't confident at all, frequently over-revving the engine and on two occasions, stalling. Her driving was erratic and I didn't feel safe in the vehicle. Secondly, she was not a good public speaker - we had several points in the tour where she would talk to the group about the landmark we were visiting. She didn't come across confident and didn't seem like she knew all that much about the places. Looking round the faces of the group while she was talking, it was evident that other people felt the same. She also at one point said that "the Nazi's didn't seem that bad" and made some fairly disparaging remarks about Russia/Russian people. Thirdly, the division of time at the stops was poor - it was barely worth stopping in the national park to walk a short distance and then go back to the van, and in Cesis, we had only 30 minutes free time - though not a large place, I would have liked to have a bit more time to explore. When we arrived, the castle was already closed, but had we arrived when it was open, we wouldn't have had time to see it anyway. Finally, the restaurant at which the tour stopped had no vegan options - both my partner and I are vegan and this was not mentioned beforehand. We've taken several similar trips in other countries and with other providers - usually mealtimes are factored into the free time at one of the stops, allowing people a choice of restaurants etc to suit dietary requirements. All in all, I don't think the tour represented good value for money, I certainly wouldn't recommend it and I wish that we'd taken the train or a regular coach instead.
"Without doubt, this is the best way to get between the two cities"
We did the Tallinn to Riga tour at the end of September and had Kris as our driver. I have to say this was one of the highlights of our trip to the Baltics and all four of us (Tom, Tim, Michael and me) would like to pass on our thanks to Kris for passing on so much of his knowledge in a friendly and engaging manner. We covered the history of the areas, visited some stunning sights and had some great conversations along the way. Without doubt, this is the best way to get between the two cities. Best of luck with the photojournalism Kris!
"Martin is certainly the best in his domain and great guide"
During my recent visit to Estonia, I decided to take up the bus tour from Tallinn to Riga. Our guide was Martin, who is friendly, kind and full of knowledge. So far I could understood based up on my experience, you can ask him any questions on history, science, economics, local culture/tradition, food, politics, hidden stunning destinations… in short your best partner in travel. He answered patiently to everyone’s query during our road trip along with his sweet smile. He is certainly the best in his domain and great guide to show you around. Highly recommended!! Thank you Martin for your time and sharing your knowledge.
"Learned so much about the Baltic history, culture, and customs."
The tour with Jaan-Kristjan from Riga to Talinn was the best part of our Baltic vacation. Jaan was outgoing, polite, and knowledgeable as a historian-in-training, with a great sense of humor. We not only saw the beautiful countryside of both Latvia and Estonia on the way, but also learned so much about the Baltic history, culture, and customs. Thanks Jaan for the memorable experience and we hope to see you again when we go back to Estonia in the future!
"Martin knew this much about culture, history"
Tour Tallinn - Riga in July: Martin was a great guide, knew this much about culture, history, ... Was really fun listening to him... GREAT TOUR! THANKS!!!!!!
"Two marvellous cities, very different, but both very likeable"
So, we are back from our holidays in Estonia and Latvia! We had a wonderful time there in Tallinn and Riga. Two marvellous cities, very different, but both very likeable. We would like to thank Traveller Tours very much for the interesting and happy journey between the two cities. We enjoyed it a lot and are thankful for the guidance and comments. Our guide was perfect and provided us with some of the most memorable moments of our holidays.
"First choice for travelling from Tallinn to Riga."
Fantastic day tour, Tallinn-Riga Sightseeing Tour Bus, Highly recommended! First choice for who wants to travel from Tallinn to Riga. I joined this day tour with three friends on 2 June 2016 from Tallinn to Riga with full of fun, amazing country side and historical buildings. Million thanks to our guide, beautiful young lady Miss Olga, she's so friendly and attentive. She made the whole journey so interesting and filled with enthusiasm. She had a very good knowledge of everything and drove very well. I loved listening to her introducing the plant, history of the beautiful villages and the culture. The route fits everyone, young and elderly people. Compare travelling to those sightseeing points by ourselves, this tour makes everything easier, saving lots of time and money. We had 8 people and our guide, totally 9 persons in this trip, on a 10-seater car. Enough space for storing the luggage. I booked this tour a month before the day to go on the website and it could also be booked at Tallinn Tourist Information Center.
"Great tour with a great guide"
On May 31 took the tour from Tallinn to Riga. Great tour with a great guide - Jaan.
"I can only highly recommend this tour"
My husband and I took the Sightseeing Bus Tour from Riga to Tallinn and it was really interesting to learn so much about Latvia and Estonia and getting to see places that we would have missed out on otherwise. Triin, our guide, was truly awesome. She made this trip fun, went out of her way e.g. let us taste a typical Estonian drink and gave us a lot of tips for restaurants, bars, clubs etc. that locals go to so that we had the great chance to get an authentic experience of Tallinn. I can only highly recommend this tour, I would take it again!
"A very interesting day"
My boyfriend and I went on the 12hr Tallinn to Riga sightseeing bus tour with Kriss. We had a lot of fun, despite the temperamental Baltic weather! Kriss was friendly, fun and informative. The day was really interesting with beautiful scenery and lots of information about the history of Estonia and Latvia. We could have just got a 4 1/2 hour bus with no guide but are really glad we opted for the sightseeing tour because it was much more interesting way to travel between countries and we saw more of the Estonian and Latvian countryside and places of interest. Thanks Kriss and traveller tours!
"Had a lot of fun"
We booked the 12 h tour Riga to Tallinn. It was amazing. Thx to Liine. We had a lot of fun. Torsten, Berlin
"We enjoyed the tour a lot"
My husband and I just finished the day tour from Tallinn to Riga with Kris. He is one of the best guides we have ever had, very patient and knowledgable.
"Glad we booked this tour"
My husband and I took the bus tour from Tallin to Riga in late August. It was amazing. We had a great time, the scenery was very beautiful. It did not feel like a whole day bus drive because we would stop and look at different sights. The guide was knowledgeable and for lunch he took us to restaurant that had delicious food. We were satisfied that we booked this tour, otherwise we would miss out on seeing some of the amazing sights.
"Thanks a lot for your effort"
Did the transfer tour from Riga to Tallinn with Kalev, that was very professional and informative! Going through the countryside of Latvia and Estonia opened up my travel route in Baltic countries and gave me a fuller picture beyond capital cities of Riga and Taliinn. (Sigulda and Viljandi are awesome ^_^) Because it was a public holiday in Estonia, Kalev tried very hard to contact museums and restaurants and drive extra miles for us to see as much as possible. And he answered our many many questions on anything large or small. Thanks a lot for your effort, Kalev!
"Definitely recommended!"
I took their first day trip to Riga and I'm so glad I chose that option instead of the normal 5 hour bus. The Estonian and Latvian countryside is so beautiful and I would have missed it all, since this trip follows an alternative road to Riga. Thank you so-so much Tallinn Traveller and Mart for the great day.
