I'm so glad I found this travel / tour! Not only did it provide transportation between the two cities, but it hit all the major "day trip" sites in between. Our tour leader/driver Laura was full on energy and enthusiasm! Can't believe she keep her energy so high for all 12 hours of the tour! Very well designed itinerary- with plenty of short, but sweet stops. Great value too. Going on the Riga to Tallinn tour tomorrow.
What a great way to get from point A to point B with a friendly and helpful Vilnius born guide. The first stop is Trakai where you learn the history of Lithuania and get time to walk around the castle grounds and take in the views of the lake. Next up is Cesis, the other capital of Lithuania where you get to see castles and river views. Our guide ordered our lunch ahead of time which was good because from Cesis, it was 2 hours away but the food was great and it is a good time to try Lithuanian food if you haven't already. Gotta have that meat and especially potatoes. The next stop was about a 5 minute drive away to the highlight of the trip: the Hill of Crosses. Now Lithuania doesn't really have hills so some people might not get what they expect but the site is gorgeous and you definately have to walk up the hill to the other side because there us so much more to see. Bring your own cross to leave behind to the ever growing "hill". Next we crossed over to Latvia. Beware, the roads are not good. I am easily prone to motion sickness and our guide did a fantastic job driving but if you do get car sick, maybe take a pill before you leave. Rundale palace was the first stop and it was very pretty and an excellent example of what palaces in St. Petersburg look like. You get time to walk around the gardens where the most prominent flowers are the roses. the final stop was just outside Riga to a WWII labor camp. though a sad history, it is an important one and here you get to dwell into it. We were dropped off just inside the Old Town in Riga just north of the bus station and the central market. I would recommend this tour to anyone because if you are going to be on a bus to get to Riga anyway, why not see more of the two countries? Our guide, Laura, was very knowledgeable and through in her own experiences of growing up in the Baltics and what it was like for her mother that it made everything seem more real.
It was great to get out of the big cities for a day and see some more of the countryside. Better than that was our super enthusiastic guide Laura, who made the day fun and informative. Totally recommended as a way to get between Vilnius and Riga and seeing the sights.
This day tour is excellent and all thanks to our guide, Laura. Laura was a bundle of energy, enthusastic, informative and so much fun to be with. She told us lots of history in an entertaining way. I was safely dropped off at my accommodation on time. I would recommend everyone to take this trip. Laura made it extra special for me - I couldn't have wished for a more wonderful guide - she is an asset to Traveller Tours!
My husband and I had a great day learning the secrets of Lithuanian history and visiting places we never knew existed. Our Guide Laura was fantastic, she was so energetic and told us a lot of fun stores about Lithuania and its past.
Fun day exploring places I had never heard of before. We had a great local food for lunch. Grutas Park was the most memorable place with the old Soviet monuments. The guide was very energetic and answered all our questions. I absolutely recommend taking this tour.
We enjoyed our day tour from Riga to Vilnius. Our guide was Laura and she is such a lovely and bubbly person. We were given alot of information at every stop. The stops were all interesting, We stopped for lunch at this amazing place. The food was good and reasonably priced, while the place itself is so beautiful.
Amazing tour with a lot of great sights and fascinating information. You see both nature and culture. Completely recommend.
Laura was our wonderful guide from Riga to Tallinn--she provided us with history, interesting tidbits of info, and funny stories. A great opportunity to see things off the beaten path! We had beautiful weather, enjoyed all the stops, and had a lot of fun along the way.
It was an enjoyable day because the guide was chatty and outgoing and the places we visited were very interesting. Perhaps the highlight was the bobsleigh run but he sandstone cliffs a close second. Laura was a wonderful guide and the day could not have gone better. She even sang to us. I would recommend her for the Eurovision Song Contest. Advice to other travellers. Book this tour but bring mosquito repellent!
This is a great idea and really fun. Laura was our tour guide and mini bus driver too ! We stopped off at a few places along the way ; my favourite was the restaurant which served amazing food ! I would definitely recommend this tour but please please please invest in a mobile phone holder for your driver so they can keep both hands on the wheel and not have to hold the phone whilst driving. Otherwise fantastic!
The tour has about 5 stop in latvia and estonia. We liked most the medieval towns, the national park and the restaurant where stopped to eat. And Laura, our guide was fun and made the day very interactive.
The day trip from Riga to Tallinn was really great and fun. We left on time and were a nice group of 8 people. Our guide Laura was nice and funny, told us about the stops and the history and answered every question we had. I usually don't book guided tours, but this one was worth it!
We had a smalle group which made the tour very fine. The guide (Laura) was there already early so we could leave on time. From the start she was very enthousiastic in her stories and she was always open for an informal conversation. Nice touristic stops and a good restaurant where we ate. It was a great advantage to hear the stories from a real Lithuanian which made the experience more purely. I would recommend this trip to everyone as the better alternative to travel between the two cities surely with such a good guide.
Our guide was excellent in every way. She was very knowledgeable, an excellent driver, and helped us feel at ease so that we could really enjoy our journey. A great day. Many thanks. Ervin
La tappe visitate erano interessanti. La guida, Laura, aveva una discreta conoscenza, le spiegazioni erano interessanti e facilmente ascoltabili anche non avendo una piena comprensione dell'inglese.
My friends and I were travelling from Riga to Vilnius so we decided to use the tour. It was definitely one of the best decisions we made. We managed to get to places that we wouldn't have gone on our own. Those were interesting places. Our guide, Laura, was fantastic! She was full of energy, caring and gave her best to the tour. She was a star! The tour was definitely worth the time and money !
